I only use the shoot photo and was a Nikon user for the last 15 years but due to more video demand from my customers o switched to Sony and thought the A7iv was the best for my situation. Amazing photos and fast enough for my use in action photography and the hybrid function of shooting video too is amazing. I recently just shot a music video on it with no problem at all. Hope that helps 🤙

      Yeh it’s super nice! I can fit both my 7,7 and 6,6 together in the new rack i built. But I want to buy a bigger board with more volume for the smaller waves. Daft question alert here. Firstly, this helps reduce humidity, is this correct? I'm thinking of making something similar but thinking into the space of my skylight. But then, I could make something which doesn't take up the whole of the skylight's square, just a rectangle with two on, say, leaving the side open. (Imagine a square 36cm by 36cm, my board like yours would be 36cm by 14cm for instance). Window would have to be open, of course, but then does that defeat the point, would I have to 'seal' that whole 36cm by 36cm cm to be effective at sucking humidity out the van? Do you see what I mean? As in, there would be humidity in the outside air of varying levels that you then may want to stop getting in, that's why it might defeat the point.

    • @JapanSnowPhotographer
      @JapanSnowPhotographer 4 місяці тому

      I’m not sure if it helps humidity? That would be better to use an AC unit. I seen EcoFlow actually make a portable AC unit which looks awesome! As far as humidity yeh it’s a tough one. Where I live in Southern Japan it gets very hot and humid in the summers and I know many people have that EcoFlow AC which definitely helps deal with the heat and humidity but for me I just sleep with my doors open and have a wee usb fan blowing all night. During the winter this ventilation fan definitely helps with condensation and airflow though 🤙

      @@JapanSnowPhotographer Ah, sorry, I used the wrong term, yes, I meant condensation, I suppose I was meaning moisture in the air generally and reducing that! Thank you for your response. If you get cold then the blue suit in this video would be perfect. Where about you normally ski?

    Wow, what happened to JAPOW? Is it still snowing a lot in Hokkaido (more north)? California on the other hand (Tahoe Area) is getting a lot of snow (several feet in the past 7 days). Is an El-Nino year generally a bad situation for snow in Japan? Better snow during La-Nina years?

    • @JapanSnowPhotographer
      @JapanSnowPhotographer 6 місяців тому

      Well actually I just drove down south in the snowiest week this winter 😂 timing aye. Yeh El Niño isn’t so good for snow over here but actually we still get a tonne of powder when it does snow but what ruins it this winter is when the south winds come up and melt all the snow but this is actually good for the surf down where I live in the south. The Japanese ski resorts aren’t so high and are so close to the ocean so the snow condition changes so fast for sure. 2019 was similar to this season but I think next season La Niña is in the forecast 🤩

    Nice photo shots at APPI Kogen. I’ve spent a week there every year for the past 7-8 years, because I have in-laws relatives there to visit. I must say this year is without a doubt the worst snow conditions I’ve experienced. There was even a day when it rained, something I’ve never seen at APPI Kogen. Maybe I’ve been lucky until now, but I’m hopeful conditions will be better next year. Hopefully you’ll have another chance to go visit, and have better snow too. Again, liked those photo shots.

      Yeh the aim of this episode was just to have fun and not be too serious about the snow conditions in Japan. Many people were complaining this season but I was just thinking, damn! The snow here is still awesome even if it just in the groomed runs. Japan is always fun powder or not. The problem is people come here thinking they have pre paid for the ultimate powder experience 😂 it’s an island surrounded by ocean that any slight wind change brings a while different weather forecast. The powder that we did get in this video was pretty nice, wasn’t deep but I was living the icy layer underneath for ease of gliding and exploration capabilities without getting stuck. Bring on next season aye 🤙
