Ginan:
Ejī Tādhūn tādhūn mīthdūn bolīye
Gurgat gangā ne bhāve
Sarve sācherūn thaine chālīye
To sāheb dil bhāve
Jene ride sacho shāh vase
Tākūn anna na bhāve
Jene ride āpno gur vase
Tākūn nindrā na āve
Nindrā tajo vīrā bhāī
Ginān vichāro morā bhāī
Ejī Dādā ma dejo re lok ne
Tethī rahish kunvārī
Dīo to dejo sachā sādhne
Je utāre paele pār
Ejī Sānkdī sherī mānhe mūne gur maliyā
Māre lok sūn vevār
Kāntā nī mise gur ne namūn
Hāthe karūn re parnām
Ejī Van van agar na nīpje
Jal jal kamal na hoe
Pir Sadardīn boliya
Gur kā bhānkhīyā so jūthdā na hoe
Translation:
O brother! Speak gently and sweetly which pleases the Jamat. Be true in every way so that the Lord may be pleased with you.
He, in whose heart the true Lord dwells, does not like food. He, in whose heart our spiritual master dwells, does not like to sleep. O my brother! Shun the sleep of oblivion and contemplate on knowledge.
O my elder! Do not give my hand to an ordinary person, I would rather remain a maiden instead. If you must give my hand, then do so to a true saint who may take me across. (Or do not pay heed to people, otherwise you will be deprived of spiritual union. If you must, then pay heed to the true saint who can take you across).
O brother! I met the spiritual master in a very narrow alley. But since I had relations with people, I bowed low and saluted the spiritual master with my hand on the pretext of extracting a thorn.
O brother! The tree of sandalwood does not grow in every forest and the lotus flower does not bloom in every water. Pir Sadardin (r.a.) says that what has been said by the spiritual master can never be untrue.
