Tudor BlackBay 58 on Tudor Ranger Bracelet
Переглядів 8 тис.5 місяців тому
In this video I will walk you through the Tudor Ranger Bracelet on the BB58 and advice on how to purchase it.
This watch is on my short list and I am looking to buy one next year. What you mention about the water problem, is this a flaw in the design that cannot be fixed? Most people won’t have the option of the warranty still being available to them. What do you recommend? Thanks
Polishing is an art in and of itself. Different wheels and compounds. I have a 2004 36mm just date that I paid $4,800 for and I had it serviced once in 2008 for $500. It has always been incredibly accurate. So, 16 years later of daily wear and it’s still running great, but I know I’m due the $1K service at some point. I can buy a pretty nice new watch for $1K. Rolex’s are tanks and run forever. Other than oiling the jewels I’m not sure there is much to do that would prevent it from running another 16 years. Great timepiece
Should have shown the clasp. That spot seems to take the most scratches and dings
Looks good I’m not sure if I want Rolex to polish my submariner when I get it serviced
Does the Ranger bracelet have the same long swing arm at the clasp as found in the BB58? I find it doesn’t articulate well and jets out not fitting well around the wrist.
Great video! I’m waiting for the Ranger bracelet for my blue 58 too, I owned it on the rivet bracelet but I’m looking to modernize it a bit without the stepped rivets and lack of adjustment. I don’t mind the lack of polishing either, a number of those old school jangly folded oyster link bracelets that came on the older Tudor Subs were not polished on the sides either so it’s like a throwback to those. Being all factory makes it that much better.
how can i get this bracelet?
Omega Boutique in person or on Omega's website
How about the scissor hinge assembly? Is it any shorter? It seems one of the design flaws with the BB58 is that Tudor kept a long scissor hinge which inhibits the attached links from articulating properly for smaller wrists. It seems Tudor has included a new style clasp with the BB58 GMT but I don't have any details on that one.
Yes, I have the same issue. I don’t even mind the rivets, but the swing are in the clasp system is much too long and protrudes away from the wrist without articulation. I wonder if it is improved on the Ranger bracelet.
the ranger bracelet links look similar to original Black Bay (ETA) 79220 from 2012 (no rivets!)
The bracelet is recessed as it meets the case. So not exactly a good fit, if we are being honest...
Great video - do you go to your AD to drop off or is there a specific service center?
Good stuff, love seeing unique bracelet combos a bit outside the box!
The colors of the stainless steel don’t quite match.
You are right, it is slightly different.
It looks fantastic. I hope you’re enjoying it.
I got a guy in cali that can order them easily works for an ad
For $1000.00, it better look great.
Great video! Do you happen to have the part # for this bracelet?
Is this watch 36 mm
Yessir
How much did the cost for RSC cost ? I want to send mys but haven’t yet .
2:58 Watch again.
that thing is worth nothing
About 5k value
Great vid - I have this watch and am still deciding to go with the BB54 next or the Ranger, and obviously swapping out the bracelet on my BB Blue. I don't think the lack of polish on the Ranger bracelet's a big deal, and having the newer T-fit adjustment is awesome. Thx for the video!
Where did you ho to physically drop off for service? Was that an AD office?
No, there are two ways to get it dropped off. One of them is at your local Rolex AD, the other is at an official Rolex service center (there are very few of these around the world). The one I went to was the latter.
Turned out great. Beautiful, timeless Rolex reference. I suspect Rolex uses a machine that polishes whilst removing no metal; I seen a high-end polishing machine in Vegas doing just that. While I love dents, dings, and scratches on my tool watches, I like to keep my dress watches in pristine shape. I daily my tool watches (divers) while reserving my DJ for special events. Reserve your DJ for special occasions only, and it won't get back into bad condition.
Well said
Thanks for posting. I'm in a very similar situation: found a 1999 Air-King for a great price. Watch was very well worn and crown threading was poor, so off to Rolex Dallas it went. Should be back next week, and I'm hoping the results are just as good.
The dings and dents show that the previous owner actually wore and enjoyed the watch. As every owner should. Wear your watch and enjoy it people. Don't worry about the dings and dents. It creates a story and bonding experience!
To each their own. I think I would agree if this was my daily tool watch, but for my dress piece, I ideally want something a bit more refined and cleaned up.
In my opinion the most iconic Rolex. Beautiful
Amazing find and gorgeous servicing! I think the video would be more complete with a look at the clasp. Congrats on your neo-vintage Rolex!
Dude, why would you make a statement like. You're that type of person we don't need in this hobby. Just a "snob"!
Looks like a brand new watch!
Wow
Looks like a winner🤩
So much better. Tudor are you listening?
Wonderful job! Amazing score and service results! Enjoy
Love your videos, it’s kinda rare for a video to be at such high quality and clarity
Too plain, only the T fit is an upgrade for me
Same here. I think the rivets and polishing set it apart from the more common oyster style.
@@michaelriera6277 unfortunately, us three are the minority. I like the faux rivets on my BB54. Seems most don’t
I've done the exact same thing with the exact same model. Would go back to the old bracelet. Best choice I've made.
Any chance that T-fit clasp fits on the original BB58 bracelet?
No unfortunately
I've done the same thing. Got a great deal on a bb58 on fabric strap and then ordered the Ranger bracelet from the Tudor boutique. They even fitted it. It looks great and the t fit is so useful.
How much for strap you paid?
@ABGG55 do you mean how much was the watch on fabric? It was 1500. The ranger bracelet was around 700 gbp.
@@soutronamir thanks for your info😄
Can we buy a ranger bracelet separately ?
Did you not watch the video?
That looks SO much better!! I've never been a fan of the faux-rivet bracelets and the newer T-fit clasp it very nice!
I liked it better at a quick first glance it wore off quickly
Looks so much better. At least the new monochrome comes with the 5 link option
I wonder if this will fit on the new BB58 GMT
The GMT has TFIt, IIRC
@@exvan3571I don’t care for the rivets
@@zachg9065 ah.
Shave them off
Just another Tudor shitter
Looks like a Newman Daytona
100%
Super expensive Omega and, oh yeah, water leaks in. Too many inexpensive alternatives.
it is not water tight??
That case design has been around since the 60s at least and it wasn't Omegas design.
How so?
@@Nextman916 Huguenin Freres a Swiss case maker were making them for many Swiss watch companies.
First omega speedmaster was released in 1957 , it was the first watch ever with a tachymeter on a bezel outside the dial
You sound familiar. Do you have other UA-cam channel(s)?
fantastic content, the bracelet looks perfect on the 58. 800 USD?
Waiting for the t fit clasp to come to the BB. But it would still have the rivets, so I'd still hate it.
