In this video we install & review the FitCamX RAV4 dashcam. This dashcam looks like it is built in from the factory, and doesn't result in any messy wiring after installation, as it connects to the power available inside the rearview mirror. Overall, we are really happy with this dashcam, and would highly recommend it! Here is a link to see more details about FitCamX: fitcamx.com/?sca_ref=38866...

      @LunarLanderXplor 3 місяці тому

      Haha yes we did fit 4 people, 2 dogs, and all our gear in the RAV4. It was a bit packed but we made it work just fine. The ride quality has been great, only issue really is the stiffer rear coils we got (to offset the sag when carrying weight) does make the ride stiffer in the back. Its been worth it though. No issues getting alignment, and since this video we have bigger tires on the car too, which has added additional lift. You can see those in some of our more recent videos!

      The videos are stored on an SD card in the camera, but you can pull them into the phone app. Videos get deleted / overwritten as new video is recorded. Normally if I want video (which is super rare in reality) I just take the SD card and pull on my computer. Its a bit easier than the app.

    While the look is clean I have 3 issues with this. 1) The lens is not adjustable. There should be some ability to as I believe there is too much of the hood being show on the MDX version 2) No sound to identify that the unit has powered on. I believe some of the earlier models had issues just dying after a month of use which was resolved. If this stops working you might not notice that small dim LED which shows if it is on. Even then you have no idea if it is working 3) With no voice you won't know if there is an issues with the microSD card With these issues IMO I would say to get a Viofo over this. Yes it might not look as hidden but I prefer functionality and knowing my device works or has some sort of issues instead of coming into a situation of an accident and then not having the video which I would need.

    I did this in one hot summer day many years ago in the late eighties. I started late around noon (big mistake) and hiking down to the Colorado river was easy and took about 3 - 4 hours. The only water supply was in the Indian garden about half way. Going back up was a real challenge. About half way back up it became very dark and my flashlight ran out of power. Luckily, the moon was bright and trail was clearly visible. Going up was so tough and I had to stop every 50 yards. The whole trip was me alone and took about 12 hours. I took only one sandwich and 3 apples and a bottle water with me. This is the lifetime challenge which I am always proud of.

    Nice Video. Thanks for sharing. Do you think this is doable in a 4x4 sprinter van w/ high clearance? TIA

      I would think so! The road is not bad at all, some rocky sections, and really just one turn that is somewhat sharp & rutted out. Note there is likely still snow up there right now, so probably best to wait until all the snow has melted. Also, this is a popular spot, so I recommend going mid week if possible to get a good spot.

      We didn't do a rear camera. There is an option but we have front only

      I believe this was late June 2020. Temperature was great that time of year. Probably still snow up there right now I would assume, given how much snow the mountains got this year. Its probably getting warmer up there already though. Awesome place, lots of easy trails to explore.

    great video! I had a Kenwood in my older Rav and it was not user friendly at all. Do you have to always be connected to its WiFi, or only when you want to view videos?

      You only need to connect to its wifi to connect via the app to view videos. Normally I just pull the SD card if I want footage, which is very rarely
