I have a fox 36 elite from 2017 and It makes a knoking sound when it fully extend Have anyone any idea how to fix it?
The giant/Yamaha software is very keen on finding chips …it cost me dearly it locks the motor .
Watch out if you swap the pedal arms ..my hopes pushed a circlip off and kept coming loose as I was tightening against the clip .I ground a couple off mm off the inner faces and ok .
@solomtb whats your thoughts on the fox 38 rhythm? I was thinking on upgrading it to a 38 performance but i dont know i really need it...
Nice vid glad you finished it woth go get 1 im going to see if main dealer swansea will price match a different shop givong a 1000 off been looking at the cube liquid red and seems back triangle is a no go 50 less on battery compared to a wheel and the giant tag hopefully they play ball 😅 loving the dog being called dog instead of a name same as id do liked! You still recommend it?
Mine is doing the same thing. What did you find wrong ?
Any type of compression for it's probably going to have some kind of knock.
not true at all, brand new damper and bushings and it was gone.
U still have it, working? Trustworthy? Looking for 2nd hand cant waste a penny 🙈
nothing wrong and was considered normal by a independent motor place(which was confirmed by shop and giant aswell) No issues with bike
Erm okay….

I got the same issue, I’m guessing that its the negative pressure chamber.. because my 36 rhythm fork got a little bit of suction too (apart from that knocking)
@imdoodrandom mine was either the damper or bushings. Fox refused to admit something was wrong so we changed both and it was gone..
@@Ignitionmtb in my case I used the bleeder screws on the back of the fork, it runs smoother but it still has the suck down and knocking..
I have the Reign +1, the things is an animal going uphill. My only gripe is when you’re going from downhill to flat, it feels like the motor is dragging, it feels really hard to pedal. Is this normal?
are you talking with the motor off?
@@Ignitionmtb like when you’ve done a climb & you’re going downhill & it starts to level out, I go to pedal & because it’s over its limit, it’s really hard to pedal, it feels like the motor hasn’t disengaged. It feels harder pedalling down a shallow incline than it does going up. On setting 2 or 3.
@@Ignitionmtb when it’s on whatever setting.

I just brought this exact bike giant reign E+ 2024 model, in size L, it's a £5500 bike and I got it with %15 off. Absolutely amazing bike.
Awesome, Enjoy!
@solomtb5547 well thanks to you, you made me make the decision. There actually is not that much content for this latest version of bike. Especially giants 2024 models.
@@rmb86 Have you had much riding on it yet?
Wow
@solomtb5547 well considering I'm in uk, ans the past few days have been wet & raining 🌧 only 2 days so far. Buy I'm real impressed with the punchy motor and how quick it is. It's so powerful.
How is the motor? Did you get it fixed?
3rd party motor repair person has said its normal.
Update??
Sorry, We have some bad weather here so haven't had a chance to do anymore
What color is that?
Sangria / Black
Are you able to do a better indepth video, maybe when the bike is cleaned up so we can look better at the fine details since this is a new 2024 bike
Hello, how tall are you? Are you okay with size L? And are the oneup pedals good? thank you!!
Hi, I'm about 182cm. The large is a good fit for me. I really like the oneup pedals, they are priced well and offer tons of grip, easily serviceable aswell.
Gracias!!
Great review! Can you unlock the motors? I’m in Australia! & 25km p/h is ridiculous 😢
Don't you need two bleeding adapters to be able to bleed?
No, Only 1 bleeding edge adapter but you do need a normal screw in style for the lever. which is normal. The Bleeding edge tool is provided with the rear since it has to be cut - this is for people who have the original mineral oil bleed kit which didn't include the bleeding edge design(db8 brakes) I bought the Pro mineral kit which includes the mineral oil bleeding edge tool. It's worth noting that the bleeding edge tool is different between mineral oil & brake fluid I believe one is 4mm and the other is 5mm
Great review and riding. Just got one and after first ride had the play in the rear wheel. Is it just a case of replacing the bearings? Cheers
Thanks, depending on hub it can vary, the shimano tc500 hubs my bike came with, especially the rear was not good and had play after first ride, they are not suitable for ebikes at all. As per the video I talked about using my raceface wheel but I've now built a dtswiss wheel which is very nice quality and much more suitable for ebikes. I plan to make anther video in the coming week or two about the new wheels.
Thanks for the reply. Pretty crap from a new bike with components not built for purpose aye. Look forward to your next video 👍
Becareful changing your rims, some how the motor might think you de restricting bike and it lock motor up. Talk to bike shop or Giant before doing this.
@@david029014 aslong as the Magnet is either of the two that giant use, it works fine.
Nice dry trail! How does it climb 🧗? Is it ok for allrounder or too heavy? Is it playful and fun or soft and magical 🧙?
It's about 17kg. They make the normal one sixty with 160r and 170 front which is a good all-round bike... this version can be easily converted to that though. I like it, mullet so Is still quite playful but will still charge through the rough stuff.
Thanks for video. I wonder how it compere to kenevo?
I havnt ridden the Kenevo but it looks to be 27.5 and a much bigger bike, 180mm is alot of travel - I have ridden the Ransom eride that has 180mm but it was 29er and i wouldnt own one again for that reason. Theres no real way to compare/test online, Also pricing at the moment is crazy.
You are going to need a special tool to tighten it take it to a bicycle technician or watch videos on how to remove the motor
It's slop in the gears, not the chainring.
E quindi !?
Great review, one of the most comfortable bike I have ridden
Noice one dad!

Cool video
Cool, where are these trails located?
First lot are At Cape Wanbrow, Oamaru, NZ. Last trail is at glen warren reserve, same town.

Brilliant thank u. Don't suppose u no the part number?
Dont suppose you live in nz?
This is a photo I got given to me by Merida NZ. gyazo.com/181d9740d23f2707e9a6c5ca898ed9a8 Any merida importer should have these. We also have a facebook group thats easier to chat in facebook.com/groups/882123246769655
Hi I have just bought my son a one sixty 500 and it has the old headset. Can I just replace it with the new one I this video?
Correct
i love trail dogs
hi, have you found any fix for this or did it worsen over time? I'm facing the same issue on the same bike
never really Got to the bottom of it, It went to fox 3 times, finally gave in and sold it. Bought a factory 36 that felt really good for the first ride then it did the same... They put all new internals in the factory fork and it seemed better, was still noticeable but ive learnt to live with the fact Fox stuff just isnt that great - they just have a good damper. Fox stuff rides pretty good but just QC is a bit meh, Like the Float X knocks, x2's blow up and break, their forks knock...(their CS in NZ is also Terrible as they argued with me on the phone about this) - every other suspension place here said its NOT normal. Ive had alot of RS stuff - never had an issue with the Super deluxe, lyrik etc, I've only had to replace one CSU that creaked on a ZEB(warranty without arguing)
Sorry man! Defective product! That's some gnarly loose/out of tolerance bushing play. Get that in for warranty @Fox
Hey, it would seem so! I've already sent it to Fox NZ and the reply was this as comments: "pulled damper cart, greased IFP, new fluids - all fine". The Airspring doesnt look like its been pulled and i believe its in the Airspring side based on how much you can feel it when holding that lower if someone else compresses fork for me. Will ring them tomorrow and see if i can speak the guy who worked on it.
@@Ignitionmtb Hmm that is a weird sound. Well, the first time I listened to it was on my phone and I hear it better now on my computer... It sure is an oddity. You ensured is not a headset thing? Hearing it better still makes me feel like its a bushing thing... I wonder, if when you send it in for service, they do not install the fork to a bike to ensure it is 100% good... they do the best they can up to that point... so some things/sounds are not easily replicated when the suspension device is out of its natural context.
@@Headlessthirst hey, the LBS fully tightened the headset to basically not turn the bars, and checked still there, Tried pushing on the crown to eliminate headset while in bike but still there, turned bike upside down and pushed on lowers the same and same sound. Removed fork, installed stem and bars, pushed on fork and still the same sound. Spoke to a tuner and agrees that not a headset sound and is something to do with bushing or something. Theres even a moment in the video i pulled the brake and tried to rock the headset but nothing came of it.
@@Headlessthirst see the other video i just uploaded to confirm
@@Ignitionmtb it's normal ?
