Harumichi, you are my first love. After 20 years of bs and both of them being so incomplete they finally got the ending they deserved. I do really feel bad for Tsunemi tho but ultimately Harumichi made the extremely difficult but right choice. It would be unfair to marry her knowing he has someone else in his heart. I love how they brought Utada Hikaru’s songs to life like this

Well, technically he didn’t choose both of them. He decided to stop pursuing Yae even after breaking up with Tsunemi. But i agree, Tsunemi is a nice girl, in my mind I’ll think that she would find someone who can love her the way Harumichi couldn’t. ❤❤
It is the justice that Tsunemi deserved. Harumichi staying with her while knowing he cannot love her the way she love Yae is an utter disrespect for Tsunemi. Tsunemi deserves a man better than Harumichi since Harumichi is not for her. Remember, they were a couple for 7 years and Harumichi cannot fully give himself to Tsunemi. And Tsunemi knows that, she just loves him too much but she is also suffering, she’s always afraid because she always knows that this day would come.
She was never the number one for him, he was always honest about it
