Here is the review of my usage of this trimmer. This trimmer is solid build, has a lot attachments including Nose&Ear trimmer, Precision trimmer. If you use only one or two length settings for your beard or hair, than this trimmer is a good choice to buy. The only reason I decided to by the 5750 was because during a during a move to a different part of the city, I lost some accessories to my QG 3330, and only had my nose trimmer that was attached to it. Because I was so happy with the QG 3330 that I decided to stay with a Norelco product and bought the 5750. Because I was happy with the QG 3330, wanted to buy it again, but couldn't find it in the stores anywhere. Because I was so happy with the Norelco Philips QG 3330 for all the reasons mentioned in your review. Decided to stay with Norelco Philips again and bought the 5750, because I assumed that it would be as good as the one before. What a huge mistake that was. After about a week of using it, I started to have problems with turning on or off. It's been like that every since, and it's been over a year. Sometimes in the middle of the night or while I'm out of the house at work, or whatever, I'd come home to it being on buzzing in my bathroom. So finally I decided to take it apart and try and fix it. So while in the middle of this project , decided to go online to find some instruction on how to take it apart, and came across this review. You're review pretty much covered all the issues I was having problems w/ except the problems a person might have trying to turn this thing on or off. Hated having all those accessories, after using he previous product that had the adjustable guides, keeping the amount of accessories to a basic minimum. i don't understand why they didn't continue with the adjustable guides to the newer products when it so good. Anyways, all this was just to say I agree with everything you mentioned, to let everyone know. DO NOT BUY THE 5750. You will regret it.
Just ordered this today, ashame that it doesnt collect hair like some of the previous models (my previous one did) if it lasts as l9ng as my previous philips trimmer it would be great as that lasted around 7 yrs being used regularly

Thanks for the review! Which one do you recommend between the following? Trying to decide between the one in the review, MG5750, and the more expensive, waterproof one, MG7750? Where I live, the cheapest price I could find for MG7750 is $99, and $60 for MG5750. However, the Amazon reviews for the MG5750 is horrendous: a lot of people are complaining that the trimmer randomly starts working on its own until it doesn't have any juice anymore which would shorten the life span of the device tremendously. Also, people seem to have problem with its power button, too. Did you encounter any of these, or any other, problems with your trimmer? Also, can these Philips Multigroomers be operated while plugged in? I've noticed that not all of them have this ability. Corded use seems to have become a luxury, too! SMH!

i was exactly confused between 5502 and 5750 trimmer. btw which one was more powerful and cut most it 1 pass?
I would say both have the same power. I don't feel any difference in performance of blade or motor
I'm mostly happy with mine which I use for my 3mm haircut. I would say the design could be improved by having a simple stand instead of just laying it down when not in use and, more importantly, a travel lock on the switch. As it is it could be inadvertently switched on while in, say, a suitcase. I also found that hair collects behind the comb head which is ok for me as I don’t need to have a large plastic sheet on the floor.
how i will use rest of big clips..like big size heads...........?it doesn't fit with blades cz all heads are not fit with blades

True that ! I used the 5000 series ,was great until it broke down after 4 yrs , it also had the slide adjustment which worked great and now this 7000 series have to change always , blew my cash on it though the blades are great something to be happy about.

Does it give you a warning or slow down when the battery is about to run out?
It does change the light color from Green to orange to indicate low battery. It does slow down and die down once battery is slow. But trust me, if you will charge it, it's good for atleast 20-30 use. It's that great. So just recharge after 15 days just to be on safe side or before you plan to travel. And good thing is, it's quick charge give you one use charge in 5-10 mins charging time
Is it waterproof?
It's water resistant. Not fully water proof.
Can you use it without the guard and can you use it on your pubes?
You can certainly use it without the guard(clip I hope you meant) . However, you can certainly use it on underarms but not recommend anywhere else closer to your private parts.

Good review. I also bought this model and so far very happy with it. I do have a recommendation. After cleaning with water, put a small drop of oil on the blade. It makes for a smoother and sharper shave and the blade will last a lot longer.

Yes you certainly use it for hair cut too. It has a wide blade plastic clipper for hair cut. It's works great. I have used it once.

Battery life update- Since I have bought this almost 2 months ago, i fully recharged it before my first use, and finally the battery died after 2 months. I used it roughly 12-15 times in those two months. That's an amazing battery life. Considering I do full beard time and it usually takes around 10-15 minute to do my beard trim. Hope this help. I wouldn't say it is waterproof. It is definitely water resistant, means you could wash the blades off in running water without worrying about any damage however I wouldn't recommend using it in shower. It might last few showers but won't hold for too long. Hope this helps.

Does it have a steel body beneath the rubber grip?
It's not stainless steel. It's just a strong durable plastic. It does feel very solid in hand. Grip is nice. Were you planning to buy this?

I have the same old trimmer and I also have the same problem, I was tempted to boy that Philips 5000 but now I'm not very sure.
After being disappointed by this trimmer, I bought a Philips BT 5502 and I am very satisfied with that. I should add my review on that in a day or so. Do check it out.
