How to crochet a drawstring cord

I learned this technique from Ashley of A Crafty Concept, and discovered it is perfect for backpacks! I am using this to add a drawstring option to my Mermaid Ripple Purse Pattern.
I just want to thank you for sharing your designs with us all. I am hoping to pull each child I can away from their games and phones (so young now they get them) and bring them back to stories- reading and ideas. Your puppets are wonderful help for their imagination! I am thinking Joseph and Mary need to be made for Sunday school- with the others. Also I adore your Loveys! Did you ever do a CAL with them? Keep on being you! <3
Thank you so much for your kind encouragement!! I have never done a crochet-a-long with the loveys, but that would be a great idea! Keep up the good fight against electronics and encouraging learning through creative play, one puppet at a time! 😉 ❤️

Hello! Thank you so much! I would be happy to help. :) Working under the slip stitch is less complicated than it sounds. I can put together a short video for you today. I will reply again when it is ready!
I just uploaded a video to better show this crochet method! It's titled "Crochet Behind the Slip Stitch. I slowed some of it down to better view where the hook is going. If you still find this confusing, please let me know. :)
