A lot of tutorials I look at are like 10 minutes long for 30 seconds of what I actually want, so recently I started to make very short, concise tutorials to just get the good bits, a tiny bit of filler to calm the videos down a smidge.
Warhammer 40K Darktide: Melee Psyker Aggression Build
Always loved melee psyker but it always felt lacking. With the new weapons, and new ranged weapon availibility now its kind of great.

With the protocols update they introduced the force grreatsword, and with it, full melee psyker agression has come onto the table. So of course we are going to do a build around it.
Heres the Pips for those looking for a TLDR.
The primary advantages of the build is that it kills ads stupid fast and does pretty good against most special enemies, except carapace. The build has decent enough toughness and alot of regen, so it can run damnation maelstroms without too much trouble. The down side is that when you arent killing you become vulnerable. Anyways lets move on to the pips for the build.
Ok so we start off by grabbing mettle, we are going to be in melee alot so the toughness and move speed are a must have. For the same reason we grab quitude, we are going to be using scrier gaze to increase peril rapidly, and a blessing on our blade is going to be clearing alot of the peril generated, to the same end we are going to grab warp expenditure now there is toughness gained when our peril goes up and even more gained when peril goes down, both of which are going to be near constant. Next up we grab our assail, assail is quick to cast, and is fire and forget, though we arent going to be using it often of the options its the best fit. These 3 to the right are just good for any melee psyker stuff, but if you arent using the blazing spirit blessing its probably better to drop souldrinker for warp splitting. Next we grab prescience for the increased crit, One with the warp to make the toughness gain go further, then finally our scriers gaze. The two pips on either side of it give us toughness damage redution and movespeed while the buff is up. The rest of these arent really that important until we get to our keystone. Disrupt destiny will light up enemies and if you kill then you get a critical damage bonus, a weakspot bonus, as well as temporary move speed and a quick shot of toughness its kind of the perfect fit for the build. On difficulties less than damnation i recomend going the right side pip here as it increases the time before losing stacks, and makes down time less punishing. If you are playing on damnation the increase in mobs for the most part gets rid of the down time so going to the left for increased max stacks is the way to go. The last one is kind of take it or leave it, we are going to be cycling peril fast enough i dont think its needed. Thats it for the key pips, the rest as you see here i non-critical to the build.
Because we are running Skryers gaze I highly reccomend the blessing murderious tranquility as it makes it where if you hit 3 or more enimies it reduces peril, this will keep your skriers gaze up for alot longer; the second perk is based on play style, if you really like the greatswords special attack then taking warp is slice to make it crit every 15 seconds is really good, as alot of our build is buffing crit and weakspot hits . I have not figured out whether or not the ranged shot ques up blazing spirit; it might be the replacement for tranquility for those who love the wave. If not then id reccomend the plus cleave per swing. For ranged weapon we want something to make up for how much we suck against crushers, for that id reccomend electro staff if you are good at managing peril and dont mind juggling weapons. If not than bolt pistol might be the way to go for you. For trinkets i recomend one with stam, one with Toughness, and one with a wound. For secondary rolls, i put stam regen on two of them, currupt resist on all of them, two resist damage from gunners, and two toughness boosts. The stam regen is because the build uses skriers gaze; the more move speed, the more we can get out of the buff, and the longer we can keep it active. Ability cooldown reduction is also fine.
The gameplay of the build is rather simple, actiate ability charge in, always try to be hitting 3 or more enemies with the wide sweeps, if you hit ragers or anything that is a regular sized person but also a threat either use the block push to push them down and focus them down, or if your team isnt near you back up. When it comes to elites that are bigger than the regular joe you generally need to back up, swap to the ranged weapon and focus them down, sometimes you get away with just bashing on them with the blade, and on rare occasions they dont aggro to you and you get to just ignore them and focus on killing the little guys. The actual skill of this build comes with its dodging, you have a lot of regeneration on your toughness but not alot of raw toughness. This means your dodging needs to be on point against elites, a single crusher or mauler heavy hit and your out, light hits for the most part arent a game ender, but you still need to be cautious.
Thats about it, now go out there and give them heretics a beating. Thats it for now, until next time bye.

I know Ogryn can clear the corruption out with the Rumbler without doing the platforming. I don't know if other explosives work...
I have been told that the vets grenades can work; the few times ive tried my nades land in the bottom section and dont do the trick.

Honestly lol I like popping into different content creators to see how well others understand the tree but as soon as someone mentions using a wound curio, I know for sure that they don't know really know what they're doing.
@Darth_MoonMoon yeah, the only ones who should be using wound curios is a Pain-Priest zealot build that gets dmg and atk speed buff the more wounds they have missing and/or corrupted.
@Darth_MoonMoon @nephalos666 When i reccomend things like curios i generally think of if my sister or some of my friends who play the game that dont have a lot of play time within the game; for them when they play they are going to go down a few times, they are going to sit in the green goo during havoks, they are going to make the small mistakes that having corrupt resistance or the extra wound will make the difference between them getting to the next check point or just going down twice and being out of the game. Thinking of them i really shouldn't have had the +stam it should have been +HP as chip damage comes into play a lot more. If i'm doing a build guide i dont really need to mention things on the higher end, because players on the higher end already know to ignore the wounds, or the currupt, they have thier own methodology for what is needed, and the build becomes more of an idea to build off. Edits: made words poor, try make words gooder.
I wanna give it a try when I'm levelled up! I really enjoyed his zealot build recommendations, and my friends did too. A melee style psyker is a really fun idea for me.
@@johnathankhar2477 What I would recommend if you're playing with lower skilled people is running 1 stamina and 2 toughness curios. Run all 3 curios with +4% combat ability regeneration, +12% stamina regeneration, then 1 sprint efficiency and 2 block efficiency. What you're going to get out of it is a lot of combat ability uptime and a LOT of potential to block and then teach them how to slide dodge. Teaching them this one mechanic will more than make up the difference that you're talking about and will make them be able to hang in much more difficult content as well. Slide dodging, blocking, and listening for audio information are the main things that separate the bad players from the decent players and anyone can be taught these couple of things within 10 minutes. After that is just practicing those couple of mechanics and bam, you have a person who can run damnations and not go down more than twice in an entire run. Legit, I'm down to sit and make goofy builds all day long. I have a forums section in my discord server that was just made to post builds in. If you wanna get into it, I'm down to talk on discord or something and theory craft all kinds of builds that do goofy crap while also being in a position of viability for scaling purposes. I made some tweaks to the build in this video and easily hit over 600k damage on an Auric Damnation that would be chill to talk about. Even some high mechanic stuff with assail weaving and animation cancelling to make assail much more viable than most people think it is.

@johnathankhar2477 there is no excise vault map at all. Therefore its impossible to get that skull, and obtain uniqe title in the penances. See for yourself

yeah some missions just dont show up, like the train mission that was introduced with the lock and loaded update, there was an event where it was always there, then it just vanished forever...

Thanks for a guide on this type of zealot class. Every video I find is just using knives and the other ability but it doesn't resonate with. Who needs knives and sprinting at the enemy, when I have the Emperor's faith and Holy flames.
The latest update added the relic sword, its kind of amazing. If you are using this build replace the eviserator with it. Many heretics will die, may the Emperor guide your blade.

yeah you can, your head hits the roof and stuff but it doesnt stop you from sitting on the top section with the key.

@@Espankyz45 i did also state the basic logic for solving it yourself. To my knowledge they havent changed the solution to the puzzle, but other players sometime hit the valves while passing by.
