The Cheapest Rangefinder Film Analog Camera: Minolta Hi-Matic F Overview!
Why use expired film, when fresh film is readily available? Using expired film just adds another variable into the process.....
NIce! I think this stuff is my favorite expired-look film overall. It always seems to have a little charm. I got to shoot it back when it was still made, and I would buy truckloads of it if they brought it back.
Tks my friend.I'm in love with this film!
Honestly, fomopan does not work well with DF96. I hate fomopan because it's very finnicky, and doesn't work well with some developers. Go to kentmere and stay away from fomo/arista or you get those blotchy clouds and inconsistent shadows.
Sir can you give me a one roll🥺
1:20 that photo is very nice 👌

Thank you my friend! What is your favorite film?
@ Big fan of Colourplus200
@ tks my friend!!
It is indeed one of the most beautiful SLRs ever made. Well done in finding a good one.
Thank you my friend!!!!
Unfortunately a lot of people destroy their Edixa lenses because they don't know the shutter has to be cocked before removing the lens (only an issue on cameras with the automatic diaphragm plunger, not an issue on the really early models).
Friend, please explain this to me...
@@AnalogFlashback The Edixa's are more revered now than they were when new, simply because they were fussy things with eccentric solutions to things that the Japanese were simplifying. You have to be more careful with it than later, more standardized, SLR film cameras. Basically, when you cock the shutter it resets the mirror (only a few Edixa models had auto reset mirrors) and other things. When uncocked, the aforementioned unreset elements get in the way of the lens when its unscrewed which can damage it or the mechanism; a problem many find when they unwittingly buy a compromised version online. Little-to-no clear warning of this in the instruction manuals by Edexa at that time.
That's exactly what happened to my camera. I broke it and had to send it in for service. So do you know how to avoid problems like this? Can you give me some tips?
@@AnalogFlashback It's simple: do not unscrew the lens unless the shutter is cocked. Even on the instant return mirror versions, the aperture plunger doesn't fully retract until the shutter is cocked.
@@nostalgiccameralife Does this only apply to Edixa lenses or any m42 lens?
Great job !
Thank you!!!!
A bit overexposed but i think you can fix most of these by dropping your exposure compensation in your photo editing software of choice. Good to see gold back might have to grab a roll or two.
Hello friend, I did several tests and came to the conclusion that the problem is in the Vuescan software. Even Apple's own native image capture application processes the image better. I'm still going to record a video about it. Will you subscribe to the channel for charity?
It is good to do, to know aesthetics and to know photometry, yes the camera is good, the lens is excellent! but your subjects are incorrectly metered, overlit, not bright. Don't be afraid to close your diaphragm a little, a good measurement changes a lot. The choice of topics requires a lecture, your intention is good.
I think you're right. This is not the best lens for landscapes, as I got better results with the subject closer to the lens. I'll do more testing. Thanks for the tip.

I had a similar leak so "temporarily" replaced the dark slide with electrical tape, and it then worked fine (sacrificing the interchangeable back functionality). I've been "temporarily" using it this way for 8 years, even though the seals are easy enough to replace. Film and processing has become prohibitively expensive, so I rarely shoot it anyway (sadly). Assuming you have everything mated up correctly (and covered with tape thoroughly) the second leak might be the auxiliary shutter.
I changed the sealant and there was still some leakage. So I repeated the procedure more carefully and I'm testing another film now. I hope it works. Regarding the price of the films, it's really expensive. But I buy films at auction, on sites like Tradera. It ends up being cheaper for me.
Far too dark really. Difficult to make out the detailing. 400 wouldwork better.
I think I'll make a new video with this camera, because I didn't like shooting with x-ray film. Too much contrast, too much. One of the things I noticed is that it's not easy to handle this film with your hands, because anything can scratch it and cause damage to the negative. But thank you very much for the comment, I agree with you. Can you follow the channel? Thanks.
Well explained
0:35 muito bom
👍
Tks!!!!
Congrats on processing the roll.
Thank you!
Cool. I found a roll of this in a camera I bought, but I had no way to develop C22.
You can try to develop in c41... sometimes works
SHOTTING??
Ooopppss!! Fixed!!
My first reflex camera in 1997. All my photography colleagues used Nikon FM2, Pentax MX, etc... and the only thing I could get was a Zenit 122 m42. The double exposures that my classmates did so easily on my Zeint did not work... no method... not even the 3 fingers. But one day I discovered how to make them and won that year's annual contest with a double exposure portrait. A very basic camera, it made me curse many times, the ISO is turned accidentally, it doesn't have low speeds, I ran out of a photometer 3 months after buying it... anyway... The only good thing was the lens and the shutter lock. T with which he let me make lucigrams in B. Later I accessed better cameras like Canon A1, FM2, FM, MX... some I still have... but to learn by cursing, the best photos were with the Zenit. If you master a Zenit, you master everything.
Yes, this was also my first reflex camera. I'm glad you liked it. Are you subscribing to the channel? I'll be posting more videos in the future with this camera...
Nice!
Thank you Sina Farhat!
I think the ink from the paper adds to it!
It's a veil because the film is old... but where are the inscriptions showing the difference on the veil...
When developing the Film, Take a Off the paper
The veil of old film is partly due to the natural radiation that the film receives, when within the validity period and well stored this effect is minimized and does not make a difference, but when it is poorly stored and or after the validity period where the preservation chemicals are no longer effective, the veil ends up appearing, the dark ink on the paper acts as a protection that ends up acting as a mask, where the rest of the film forms a veil and there it does not.
These look like my childhood photos. 🥹
Thank you so much!
Thats amazing!
