First look and first shots of the DWZ compact. the good and the bad.
It's a known issue with the safety being to loose. The fix is to replace the spring with a full size spring.
TY for the video/ review
I have DWX full-size for sport, it is lovely gun. However I do not understand the purpose of this compact model...
This is definitely not worth it. I do not recommend it at all. Quality control is a big issue with the coating and rusting on the internals.
If it matters, I had an MPA DS9. Exact same issue. It's why most heavy 1911/2011 users train with 'order of arms' that includes riding the safety down, and staying on it until reengaging.
were you able to get the safety issue fixed?
I picked a new one on Monday and I definitely feel it's with the price. On my first range trip with her yesterday I shot the best group I've ever shot with any handgun, and I've owned some of the so called "top dogs" The bullseye on my target is 2"x 2" square and I put 49 out of 50 shots in the bull and the miss was only .75" away. This is with nearly 63 year old eyes and the iron sights. I tweak the trigger a little to get it where I like it and I can honestly say it's the best trigger I've ever experienced. It even beats the CZ TSO I had. Stay safe and keep the videos coming! (I gave you a Like and a Sub)
Damn dude you handle that thing like a lollipop. I love the gun hate the review
Olight on a $2400 pistol lmao
Yep lmao fucking olight
Thought the same thing. It's what you roll with when you spent all your money on the gun.
I had the same issue with the safety. It would engage after 1 or two shots. Riding the safety was not comfortable and something I should have to do on a gun of this caliber. I sent it back to Cz. They replaced the entire gun for me and I have not had the issue since. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite pistols.
Nice what’s the difference between the scorpion elite , and the Legion
No optic cut, no auto forward feature & the K trigger "floats" in its housing; no thanks
If that were my $2000 pistol I would be sending it back. You mentioned being able to rack the slide on the rear sight should your left hand be inoperable. Then you demonstrated you CANNOT shoot one handed without the safety engaging......so what if your left hand is inoperable??? No way this is acceptable. You should not be required to shoot two-handed on a pistol of any price.... especially a $2000 one.
I had same issue. Sent in for warranty repair as Safety kept engaging. Received pistol back with note saying I changed springs and they replaced as courtesy but only this time .I had the gun 2 days changed nothing and before I had it sent back in. Came back does the same thing. Riding safety not an option. Born poor and ugly all I have is ethics. Total insult. Safe Queen.
Why is riding the safety with your thumb not an option?
Great video I just received mine today p226 xfive legion shoots nice
Looks like Ankeny shooting range.
Try a heavier bullet, my 226 x5 Legion loves 147 grain ammo, the recoil is absolutely non existent.
Any luck getting the safety adjusted? This feels like a deal breaker for such a pricey piece.
another perfectly good flex ruined by an olight
Mann why didnt i see this 2 weeks ago? Is it priced under 1199?
2200
You like the cz shadow 2 compact or the dan Wesson compact better? I got the shadow 2 from West Des Moines scheels also!
If you have to pick the compact model, then out of two the shadow 2 compact makes more sense.
Very nice pistol indeed that's why seals use it
Seals don’t have hands silly. They’re sea creatures. 😂
🇮🇱👌❤️💋👍🇮🇱
I have the P229 Legion, a great gun. I bought the 226 X5 Legion and man, I was shocked. The trigger is great, beveled, FAST, and accurate, that's it accurate. You would swear Sig didn't do this. Did they?
Good vid Brother....GunBroker has them at $1300 + for those looking....
A lot of us who run 1911s and 2011s like to “ride” the safety.
its based on a competition gun. Most of us in the competition space dont use the slide lock when shooting. Reload before the mags are empty while moving. Mags without slide locks also tend to hold an extra round or two.
slap a gold barrel on this, trust me
Sounds like a good idea i but can we really justifuy buying one? Or even the "Non-Legion" P226 XFIVE" ($3300 CAD)?? We're paying for the TXG weighted grip and in the case of this gun the COMP as well...is it worth an extra $1500 (CAD) plus to get a 45 oz polymer gun that has less muzzle rise?? :) Over a "STD P226 Legion"?? I can't. If you want a heavier gun weighing in at over 40oz why not just guy a steel frame 1911?? Best stock trigges over any other jgun platforms e.g. striker fire, Alu frame guns.....everyone is trying to come colose to duplicating the shoottablity of a 1911...no one's come close... Want a "race gu"...buy a RACE GUN e.g. Infinity... "buy the gun for the intended use"!1 too many guys don't seem too sure....end up with race guns for "home defense"..."gee it has a light 2.5 pound trigger...i can get faster follow up shots..YEAH!!" :) Don't want that in tha defensive situation....a "hair trigger"... Odd....in Canada they can only get select guns I'm told...this gun is impossible to 'Find"....can't get the Glock 45....they also get guns htat are "marked up" the XFIVE p226 sells for $3300 CAD :))
Yikes $3300 is a lot. I could get an atlas for $6500 but the problem with 2011 pistol if you accidentally allow the slide to fall without a cartridge to cushion it, can damage the aear
The grip, for me, has better ergonomics than a 2011. The trigger is every bit as good as any 1911 or 2011 despite the fanboy myth that there is no better trigger than a 1911. The P226 X-5 Legion trigger is totally adjustable for takeup, over travel, trigger pull weight, AND trigger position within the trigger guard - without the need to disassemble the gun and "tweak" internal parts. It's not a "race gun" and isn't meant to be. I own a SIG P226 X-5 Legion, AND an STI DVC 2011, and eight other 1911s from production guns to full custom. The SIG is a really good gun. It's accurate and fun to shoot.
Buddy, that’s some dead nut shooting buddy!👍
Awesome review, great shooting buddy. That’s a helluva nice pistol.👍
“Added weight to the grips to make it feel like an all steel gun” never heard that joke before.
Dumb. So Sig put a gun out to compete with their x5 series. Stupid marketing.
I can’t find one anywhere for under 1699 it really pisses me off people are trying to take advantage of the fact that these are hard to get right now I hope they end up sitting on them for a long time

I’m having significant Failure to Extract issues with mine after about 1K rounds. At least one every 2 mags. Reached out to CZ and waiting to hear.
I’m interested please keep us posted
@@Nikito-e4m I shipped it back to CZ. They replaced the extractor spring and sent it back 4 weeks later. I sold it without testing to see if it was fixed.
Love me a Sig!! My X Macro is great! If I had money I’d love to grab one of those bad boys . AR is first in line though lol. Great video brother!!
SIG Legion series always seem to knock it out of the ball park. Why don't they upgrade the triggers with Gray Guns? I lov my P229 DA/SA Also about enjoying what you do. Clearly you enjoy shooting and are a gun enthusiast. Thanks for sharing.
The gray guns trigger is trash compared to this trigger
@@atlelew hopefully be able to check one for myself soon. Thanks
I have owned a P226 Legion DA/SA for 7 years now, love that gun as well....... compared to the Legion X5, the P226 is not even close to the performance of the X5 - you will think your trigger on your P229 is garbage once you shoot the Legion X5 - trust me!!!!!
Try wrapping or resting your right thumb just below lower joint of the left thumb area (keeping knuckle more flat, not bent upward). Not criticizing your hold but you are resting your right thumb in a position that is resulting in the first knuckle pointing/bending upward. Consequently, pressing up against the safety. Hope that helps.
How is the return to zero at speed? Finally someone actually shooting this gun. Thanks for the excellent review!
For returning to zero, it does a very good job, I don’t know if I’m ready to stack it up against staccato p, but it close
High price tag considering they couldn't figure out how to mount an optic without losing the rear sight.
Sig makes a rear sight for this that you can install after the plate is removed and optic installed.
It's not that they couldn't figure out a way to keep a rear sight, they did, they just wanted to be able to charge you for one to the tune of $130 for a new front and rear set of suppressor height sights.
The Romeo X and Romeo XC have rear sight built into them.
It pisses me off that they charge $140 for the taller rear sight! Should have included it from the beginning for a $2400 gun!
@MrDucatiV4 it's 80 for the rear sight But if you get the 226 with romeo x pro from the factory it comes with the red dot and rear sight for about 280$ less than buying separately
I was looking at the P226 Legion SAO for a reliable hammer fired full size 9mm. Any reason I should save up for this instead?
Return to zero is much faster with the 226 z5 legion, but I’ll be putting a video out tonight that might not be to popular
@@SMOKINGGUN6264I am not a fan of adjustable triggers as they can move
nice
If there are other handguns that you would like to see a video of let me know. If I can I will review that gun. Thanks for watching, your watching my videos is much appreciated, Todd
Thank you for sharing! 👍
How much does it cost if you don't mind me asking ;)
At scheels it cost me 2199.00
Seen this at 2199.00 most places I've found them.
After the 100th review of the missing optics cut its enough already.
Dan Wesson needs to hear it. I’m waiting on an optics cut compact
Need a rail also. They dropped the ball on that option / feature.
I just picked one up also. I have the same issue with the safety. I just sent it back in for a warranty repair.
Sorry to hear that
Let us know what they say and how it performs afterwards
Well it’s been a while. It took about 4 weeks to come back from CZ for the warranty work. Happy to report, at over 170 rounds not a single malfunction. According to the warranty repair sheet here was their fix: Adjusted safety and safety plunger for better fit/function. Functions checked and test fired good with CCI Blazer 9mm 115gr FMJ.
👍
nice
Thanks
great video. you should have scheels sponsor you.
I wish!
