That was a train wreck. That is no way to “remove” a beaver damn. Need to remove some of the sticks.

Stay at home lads this caused a lot more damage than necessary i would hate to see the damage caused by you down stream like have you never seen how to remove a dam before? also camera person pick a spot and stay.

For Oli and his family, PLEASE watch some beaver deconstruction videos. Learn how to do it properly, so no one gets hurt. It's not like you need to spend days watching videos to get the process, but someone could have been killed or drowned in that mess you made. All I can say is I hope no one from the Fish/Waterways Enforcement watches this. Or the Army Core of Engineering. Cause you could get socked with a HUGE fine plus restoration costs for the damage you caused.

This was different than most beaver dam take downs. A mini excavator would have been useful? Those beavers are going to be PO'd.

Move the sticks first that's causing more damage than good.all those sticks ate going to float down stream and cause a pile up blocking the water and people gonna get flooded you included.

This is sad to watch. Teach those boys the proper way to open a beaver dam before they get hurt.

Please use a tripod next time for stable video, I'm usually not prone to motion sickness but the constant movement of the camera is very uncomfortable to watch. Otherwise a very interesting dam break, I've never seen a big dam like this get eroded away.

i am sure you have seen the other beaver dam removal vids,, why would you not start by removing all the sticks first. much more controllable release sand far less erosion

When I was a young lad (many years ago now!) I always enjoyed time helping my father outdoors. He was a keen gardener and we would often make forays into the local woodland to get a few buckets of leaf mold to help bury the heavy clay in our garden. Many is the time we would return home with a bagful of wild mushrooms and seasonal berries as a side treat! Good times with your Dad, the best.

Culverts have the potential to accumulate gasses that will displace oxygen. Care must be taken when entering an unknown confined space. Never go alone, take someone with you.
