Dynamic Parameterization and Templates in Power BI
I answer a recently asked scenario-based Power BI interview question in this video.
The question involves adapting a detailed Power BI report for different databases while maintaining the same visualizations, look and feel, and alignment.
Here’s the full question:
You’ve made a detailed Power BI report using data from one database, making sure it looks great and everything is perfectly aligned.
Now, your client wants the same report but using data from a different database that has the same table structure. They also want to share this report with three other people who will each use their own similar databases.
How would you easily adapt and share this report for each person, while keeping the design and structure the same?
Watch the video to learn my approach to solving this challenge!
I show you how to adapt a detailed Power BI report to use data from different databases while keeping the same look and feel.
Learn how to:
- Enable parameterization in Power BI
- Create dynamic parameters for server and database names
- Save and share your report as a template
This tutorial is perfect for anyone looking to efficiently manage multiple databases with consistent report designs.
