Grippers I made
I designed and assembled these prototype grippers based on requirements given to me. These are a few that I managed to find decent photos or videos of.
The grippers shown here use suction, electromagnetism as well as steel cables. For actuation, most are powered by the Dynamixel motors which I adore. Besides the machined components, many of these mechanical parts are sourced from Misumi.

Review of the Hikoki B16RM Drill Press

I made this video because there does not seem to be much information about this drill press on the Internet. I bought the drill press in Singapore. The company which I bought it from shipped the drill press to me in an assembled state.

EDGAR 2 robot at NTU Chinese Heritage Centre
Переглядів 5718 років тому
The EDGAR-2 social robot was at the NTU Chinese Heritage Centre on the 11th of June to meet his fans. He did a story telling session based on a Chinese idiom. This was part of the Children's Season 2016 activities, organized by the National Heritage Board of Singapore. Sorry for my standing in front of the camera at the end of the video.

EDGAR-2 robot presenting content for Westgate Mall in Singapore

EDGAR-2 was at the mall on 12th March 2016 to take part in Mediacorp's Outdoor News event. This video features the content (specific to the Westgate mall) that was prepared for EDGAR-2's deployment on that day. When answering queries, EDGAR-2 deciphers speech to determine context and then searches its database or the Internet for an appropriate response. The EDGAR team is working on building up...
Wow nice design 🤩 I also had a chance to design and assemble a prototype grippers to be used in the semicon industry. It's one of the good things for me to have exposure to the robotics and automation world.
How accurate has the laser been in relation to the drill bit tip point? ty.
It is off by just a hair. I don't rely on it as I use punch marks to start the drilling.
got a question from KL, Malaysia: I use Ezylif VD16H 750W 16mm chuck drill press, and I have a big problem with the chuck having some play.. when the spindle is all the way up, there is play of maybe +-0.5mm.. when it's all the way down (travel is 70mm), play is up to 1.5mm which basically makes the drill pointless (no pun here). Does your hikoki bench drill have the any play when spindle is fully extended? thanks!
Hmmm. That’s some serious play. I have not noticed any play on my drill regardless of spindle extension.
How is the drill press going since this review? Any problems?
It's doing good still. No problems with it. :)
Great review very helpful. How much was it? Thanks
Thanks! I can’t recall exactly how much. It was about $700 SGD. It used to be cheaper but the price has gone up since Covid.
The e27 thread is commonly called an Edison screw thread. This is a great review, interesting that they left out the light bulb, glad you pointed that out. I would probably get an led for it. It’s not cheap here so I’m not happy that it seems to have some quality issues. Looked like a god unit until this and another review. Thanks
Glad you found it helpful.
