What Actually Happened To Brett Cooper?
This video dives into the mystery surrounding Brett Cooper's departure from The Daily Wire and the subsequent arrival of her replacement, Regan Conrad. Rumors have swirled online for years, with many speculating about whether Brett was fired, quit, or if something more dramatic occurred. This video aims to clear up the confusion by presenting the most accurate account of what actually happened, straight from someone with inside information: Regan Conrad's cousin.
We'll start by addressing the initial rumors and the public's perception of the situation, including the comparisons between Brett and Regan's appearances and mannerisms. Many viewers noted striking similarities, even suggesting that Regan was being coached to imitate Brett. We'll then present the inside story, explaining how Regan was initially intended to be a temporary replacement while The Daily Wire searched for a permanent host. However, they were so impressed with Regan that they offered her the full-time position.
The video then reveals the complex situation Regan found herself in: Brett wanted her to leave The Daily Wire and work as her producer, but this offer came with uncertainty about the role, delayed payment, and a significant pay cut. Faced with this dilemma, Regan ultimately chose to stay at The Daily Wire, a decision that has fueled much of the online speculation. This video offers a behind-the-scenes look at the situation, providing clarity on Brett's departure and Regan's subsequent role, directly from a reliable source.

No bc she said “seek therapy” and people took it seriously?? If someone says that and you take it seriously maybe you should go to therapy😭
Kris is right and also just joking at the people and books that’s what she does
Kris absolutely shouldn’t have been forced to apologize. People are pussies
also, note the Snow white movie was going to be under the daily wire. Snow white is not owned by Disney. anyone can make a Snow white book or movie. it's a copyright free material.
I'd like to make a correction thanks to some feedback: Crowder didn't leave the daily wire, he was offered a four year $50 million deal that he called a "slave contract". Although the CEO of the daily wire Jeremy Boreing clapped back in a video saying "Crowder only needed to work 4 days a week and produce 192 episodes of his daily show per year." Bottom line is Crowder did not join the daily wire. love you guys!!
You best believe if someone told me 24690 was one of their favorite dark romance books id judge the hell out if them bc that disturbing asf so for people to get mad at Kris for saying people praising the book concerns her IS THE PROBLEM bc there was nothing wrong with what she said. And throughout the whole video she clearly stated MULTIPLE time it was her opinion. Booktok is just being dramatic and sensitive bc she doesnt agree with their opinion
Raegan should have known wtf she’d be getting into by this role…. Wild 4:37 bro you need to do better research… crowder didn’t leave daily wire, he was offered a deal that he turned down…
you're right! I correct this in a pinned comment, thank you :)
@@Observation-Nation Also the Snow White Cooper was cast in was made by the Daily Wire
If it takes a literal book expert (a librarian vs a Costco employee) to distinguish that it's not a children's book, I feel like it proves her point. And saying just because it's a cutesy animation style cover doesn't mean it's for kids is not a good argument. There are regulations against nicotine product packaging being colorful and shiny so kids are less likely to be interested in the products, not because we think adults can't have colorful and shiny things too bfr
She just normal teenager, living her life
All these girl just jealous they can’t cook
This shit is soo weird
Rebeca's story is amazing, same as Simone, two black girls with humble origins searching for their dreams. It's amazing by itself and their competition only makes it better, as they're supportive and respectful to each other. Brazil had other generations of great gymnasts as Daiane dos Santos and Daniele Hypólito, and seeing Rebeca in the top now seems like a full circle that ends beautifully but also serves as inspiration for new gens. ♥️
For people you claim to like smut and the like, they get highly sensitive when someone dissgrees or cslls them out. Are we forgetting how smuttok was with that hockey player and his wife,? Or that teenage boy with the motorcycle helmet? Sorry, not Sorry but smuttok is becoming more unhinged IMO. And feel like they are kinda of proving her point, by their reactions 😂😂🤷🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️
It wasn't what kallmekris said, it's the audience she said it to. Kris has culminated (especially recently) the true crime girlies which have a huge crossover with the smut reader girlies. This video was in poor taste because it shows she didn't understand her target audience and their opinions. As for her points on the cover, yeah I can see how Icebreaker gets mistaken as a kids book, but it's no different from adult cartoons or anime. Happy Tree Friends immediatly comes to mind. The blurb makes it clear it's about college age students and parents need to be just a bit more involved in what they're buying for their teen. If a teen is old enough to buy the books for themselves, then they are probably old enough and mature enough to read them.
Do you guys think Jack should have gotten unbanned from Kick?
😏😏😏😏😏😏😎😎😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏🙂↕️
sick video
I am on kris side because some of these books are very crazy. but also the fact that people are getting so upset and I know Canyon made a video and everyone got really upset too. also I have been to the libraries and a few bookstores and I have seen that book being misplaced before and I was like oh my God. so it does happen. I think if there was a giant sticker saying adults only on it would probably help a lot more.
Imagine some mid aged person invested there life savings into it and then a kid takes it all and flips you off in the process😂
the rage bait is crazy haha
It’s the same sad lonely( usually obese women )people that have no love life or friends out of their fantasy.
10:41 she’s an idiot
It was sort of funny how in the video you mentioned Game of Thrones because actually they were commenting on 'WELL HOW CAN SHE LIKE GAME OF THRONES BUT SHIT ON US!!!" XD I was commenting back the difference between Game of Thrones (mostly the book because the first one is 869 pages long) only has small themes sprinkled throughout the series of problematic topics that are woven into a larger plotline of an Epic Fantasy whereas books like Birthday Girl, Credance, and 24690...that's basically the whole plotline XD
If a Costco employee looked at the book cover and assumed it was YA or for younger kids, doesn’t that defeat the point that the book cover doesn’t look like YA? It absolutely looks like 90% of the YA books you’ll find in any big box store or book store.
Bruh it’s not that serious 💀
Smut is detailed sex scenes. So you're right, not Twilight. And I liked one of the books she talked about. I just didn't get offended because everyone is entitled to their feelings and opinions. The people who like or even love these books should appreciate that. Imagen not having the freedom of speech. these books wouldn't exist. Instead of tearing down someone who's opinions you disagree with (ABOUT A BOOK), Maybe you should just move on and watch content you do like and agree with.
Icebreaker doesn’t look like it stars children, but one could easily argue it looks like it stars teenagers. I’m not a smut reader so havent heard Icebreaker is smut until recently, I’ve always assumed it was a YA romance. YA books are being read by children, and I don’t think a U on the jersey is enough to show it’s not about high school. Who’s gonna look at a book cover, assume it’s a kids book, then look closer at the jersey to double check if it’s marked university or high school?
Not to mention that for example most countries in Europe don't even have school sports teams (they are mostly privately owned, offered outside of a school system, and hardly anyone goes to watch it) so the letter U would tell most of us europeans literally nothing anyway 😃 Yet specifically in my country, we still have the same cover, there is no warning anywhere in the book, and it sometimes does in fact appear in the YA section and/or on the stand where there is a random mix of books 😅 Sometimes i see teens as young as 12 reading it or buying it themselves with their pocket money in a bookstore 😬 A big part of parents here is not really used to doing thorough research on the books either, they mostly check the cover, synopsis provided on the book, and the name of the section from which they have taken the book. And honestly, i think that should be enough. People shouldn't have to go to the internet in the middle of a bookstore to do research just to know if it's okay for their young teens to read. People have plenty of other things to worry about, why make it even harder and more stressful just because the cartoon cover looks good on the shelf. 😅
teenagers are children.
Omg these people are so sensitive lol
oof theresa turned her comments off
my theory: the ppl getting mad at kris don’t get any smuff irl
Hehehe yesssss, oh my this... ive been wondering where this clip was from. ❤
Honestly, people are too sensitive, they are taking everything too seriously, Also 10:16 it does, infact look like a book for tweens, AND not all books for tweens ARE ABOUT 10 YEAR OLDS, it looks like a kids book that one of my friends would've picked up, thinking it was a book like SMILE, or Babysitters club. That being said. In middle school I was an AVID smut reader and it was seriously bad for my brain and mental health, admittedly it was actually fanfiction that drew me in, but I just think overall society has normalized porn way to much
I think some of this comes downt to newish readers not understanding the etiquette - we all judge books by their cover and theres standard trops for each genre. Traditionally smut books were in thf bodice ripper style with a shirtless man qnd maybe the love intrest as an actual photo or the modern ebook smut stuletwith know one on thr cover but with dark colours. These new covers look like ya romace with an illustrated couple on the cover with light colours and people like them because they're "discreet" as if nobody knows (if you want discreet read an ebook or audiobook) its the same with people taking fanfic (thst can be smutty) and binding them amd selling them to the booktok girlies as if thet doesn't put fanfic in danger because of copyright
Kris isn't wrong, especially when it comes to the topic of Icebreaker and the art style. For literal YEARS I thought it was a cute high school romance. And I know others did too because for the first couple months it was released it was in the kids section of my local Barnes & Noble and target. Which is where I first heard about it, and let me to think that it was an innocent kids book.
And plus if it's able to trick me, target employees, and librarians, I can easily see how it would parents and kids into buying it
Kris is 100% correct
I didn't know Icebreaker was a smut book I literally saw it in the children section of my local Walmart. I feel like it would be a good idea that when there is explicit matters like this in books that there should be a warning just like there are on video games. I understand how it could be a slippery slope when it comes to censorship and keeping teens/children from important subjects. Yes it is important for teens to be able to understand and explore their sexuality in safe ways but also allowing to be accessible by children with unsuspecting parents who just hear 'it's a popular book for youth' will buy it for their kids. As someone who was a preteen/teen through the twilight books and movies coming out I can say I was uncomfortable with the sex scenes even at that age and was shocked when I would see middle schoolers carrying around these books or going to see the movies. Though I believe it important for parents to look into what media their children are consuming, when you see a book in the teens/kids sections, they're no doubt more likely to assume that it is material actually suitable for their child especially when having a more cutesy cover. Having some sort of warning or label on the back of the book and regulating sexual content like they do for video games really would make a difference in my opinion. It wouldn't fix the issue completely of course but at least it would lower the chances of these kinds of books ending up in kids hands.
There weren't any sex scenes in Twilight. Even the last book, when they finally did have sex, it was all fade to black. There wasn't any innapropraite touching, just some mild kissing scenes. It was written by a mormon who didn't believe in sex outside of marriage and was very respectful of that.
@cringeyacademic5035 You're right! Though the breaking dawn movies decided to not fade to black in contrast which surprised a good bit of people who had read the books.
With Kris all the way! People don't understand that Icebreaker isn't intentionally being bought by parents who know what the book is really about, this book is legit being put in kids' sections and HS libraries because the author HERSELF did not market the book for what it really was. I know people who liked Icebreaker but even they were surprised by what it was because there was nothing from the marketing that suggested it was basically hard core 🌽. And ppl are criticizing her for having GOT on her shelf as if it's that same as Haunting Adeline. 🙄Yeah, Icebreaker is pretty unproblematic compared to the rest of them, but it still causes problems. And it's also a shit book, so there's that. Don't even get me started on books like Haunting Adeline or ACOTAR, tho, I'd be here forever. And it was clear she wasn't calling out ALL smut readers, just specifically one's that are either 🌽addicts or sexualize SA. They all excuse it saying "it's just fiction it doesn't effect reality" but they don't understand that all books are inherently political and reflect real world values and morals. Not to mention the sexualization of REAL random bikers/hockey boys, some even MINORS, on tiktok because of their crazy asses. God, and don't get me STARTED on how this is actually promoting desensitization of DV or SA to teenage girls and that normalizing this type of "dark romance" is, in fact, going to lead to girls pining after terrible men/boys because they don't understand they're not chasing a concept. I could go on, but I'm sure no one wants to hear me rant any further. TLDR: Kris rightfully called out the disgustingly normalized behavior and topics of "booktok" and "booktok girls" and they got mad and started calling her misogynistic for it.
So should we ban video games with unaliving in them? Or how about movies and tv shows with sexual content or horror and gore? God forbid it makes people turn into unalivers and corn addicts because that’s the only possible way! Also Icebreaker has content warnings and age restrictions at the back of the book and on the first page. Cartoons are not only for children’s books. Have you seen South Park? BoJack Horseman? So many adult cartoons and just art in general are out there because it’s an art style. Who ever said cartoon was only for kids? Also the fact that icebreaker ends up in the wrong section is because of the librarians and bookshop workers not because of the books because again, there are content warnings and age restrictions on it. Did you know that all books with adult content has that on the first couple pages and at the back? Maybe not because this whole thing is just the oldest trick in the book which is omg these women are so sick for reading this trash! Ban it! Ahh, I’m so much better than them. 🙌🏾 Never looking that far into it to see how dark romance helps people that have been through SA because it’s a form of exposer therapy for them in a safe space. Same as spice, a way for women to experience different types of scenarios in the safety of their homes and at the end of the day we know it’s fiction. I’m all for saying how you feel about books and genres but it’s the tale as old as time. ‘What about the kids?!!!’ So should we ban all movies, tv shows, books, games with adult content? Should parents that have kids in their household not be able to rent, buy or stream adult movies or any other activity that involves adult content because omg the children might see it?! It’s not feasible and sets a horrible precedent for censorship of adult media that are not even made for them because they’re made for, you guessed it, adults. Again. Cartoon/illustrated art does not only belong to children.
@@makedam9263 If you can't tell the difference between including adult themes and sexualizing rape, you're already too far gone. Icebreaker is objectively not marketed right you cannot blame it on employees when the book isn't marketed to be graphic. It's not about "cartoons" it's about the fact that it's not being marketed as adult content, point blank period. If it was everyone else's fault and NOT the author or her team, then why are SOO many people surprised it's graphic? @@makedam9263 Yeah... Nvm. I see the disgusting crap you read. I'm not getting through to someone like you.
@ and this all boils down to tik tok and other social medias not being for kids. Do you really think booktok recommendations talking about icebreaker and other adult romances don’t bring up the spice which indicates it’s an adult romance and obviously they aren’t trying to recommend this for kids? If an adult person has a booktok talking about spicy books, why would you think they’re making rec videos for children to watch? What are creators supposed to do if kids are searching up booktok books because booktok is popular right now so obviously a lot of different ages are interested because it’s trendy? So should booktok books not include adult romance, erotica, thriller and horror because a kid might come across them?? Adults can read, write and recommend whatever they want. It’s called freedom of speech. There are books that take it too far for me like horror with gore, dark romances that include MCs with addiction representation or human traf!cking so I look at trigger warnings and stay clear but I’m not gonna bash and judge people that read them. You can make this argument for anything and that’s how you’re being obtuse. Banning books will never be ok and adults that are on booktok and making book rec videos very clearly preface them by saying ‘spicy book recs’ or whatever else and even if not, unless the video says YA recs then it’s not made for them! Not every book account is geared towards recommending books for children. So if I make a booktok and I recommend ice breaker to other adults and a child happens upon it I’m in the wrong???
I just think it’s a tired video topic that’s been done so so so many times. She didn’t say anything I haven’t already heard before.
Regarding the book cover, imo it looks a lot like something that would be directed at highschoolers. It's not just the artstyle, but it's also just how it looks like a cute romance the centers around hocky, that paired with the title don't really imply anything beyond that. And in my experianxe most highschoolers and younger kids won't be reading the synopsis, not that I know what the synopsis even says, but I can see highschoolers and younger picking out the book purely because of the cute cover and title.
Kris didn't do anything wrong, booktok is known for overreacting when people call them weird. I used to watch her skits often on tiktok and I saw that video in my recommended when it came out. She's not being mean or anything it's just her content style is to be silly and poke fun. Thanks for this video btw I had no idea that booktok was losing their minds over her video. Edit: I forgot about the part where she said that the books were in kids sections of libraries. That's not great on her part since it wasn't true, but I don't think her overall video was bad because of it. Aside from that I think she was being a bit more aggressive than needed at first, but a lot of youtubers do that because it boosts engagement. I can't sit here and tone police her for something most popular youtubers do, it wouldn't be fair.
As someone who actively reads smut, I think she made very valid points and people are allowed to have opinions on these books. These books were made for a specific audience and it isn't for everybody. It's literally just a genre of book and not that big of a deal for these people who read the books to get so heated over.
BUT, if children are getting this book, I believe it is the parent's fault for not monitoring their own kids. Growing up, I was a very active reader and so was my mother. She read smut books but they weren't too spicy. She would always check my books until I was mature enough to handle that type of content.
@@Avarii_vr I agree with this! I was the opposite growing up. wasn't much of a reader but by the time I was 12 I was curious so my mom would take me to the library. My mom never checked the books before letting me rent them. She saw the cutesy cover and assumed it was good. I ended up reading some pretty mature books not knowing. kids will see a fun-looking cover and won't take a second glance at anything else, so parents need to be checking. ofc icebreaker doesn't look like a children's book to avid readers but to a kid just looking for something fun to read it looks like a cute book.
Honestly I agree with her points to some degree

I had icebreaker in middle school. The girl in the glasses kind of pissed me off with the misinformation lable, lol, and saying it doesn't happen makes her just look stupid af.
Oof roasted haha
I’m on Kris’ side. At no point does she intentionally go after the people reading. The most she does is poke fun of the writing and make hyperboles.
so true - the rage bait was too much for some people haha
SAME AH
Real
I’m going with kris on this one. The cover of icebreaker looks like a kids book about hockey. Test it: Take away the title and make a poll asking “if you had to guess what this book was about, what would you say it was?”. She’s right about desensitization, it applies from spicy food to all out abuse. She did say she wasn’t trying to yuck anyone’s yum, and humans ARE weird animals. It’s not elitist or putting anyone down, it’s an observation about -the-human-animal-, this is how almost every psychologist and anthropologist (hell…biologist?) sees humanity. And starting at 50 shades?…seems intuitive. Maybe *smut* readers know it’s not where you start, but if you dont read smut and wandered into the section…this is the one that everyone has heard of. It’s tantamount to “needing a truck” and buying an F-150 when what you actually needed was a subaru baja. Booktok has its panties in a twist. (Which is ironic…You’d think they’d like that. )
well said - I like that poll idea! I'll make a post in your honor tomorrow morning
Was saying the same thing about the book cover of ice breaker it looks too kid like and people were like those are teens wtf
Whose side are you guys on? 👨⚖️
Bro it’s refreshing to see a brother make an unbiased video and not jump on the make-fun-women train. You might be one of the only commentary UA-camrs who’s not a grifter
