Nice Setup. I've been given the same set of speakers that were used as monitor speakers in a editing booth. I've been using them as left and right front speakers in a 9.0 setup mostly for movies. Lately i'm wondering is a Subwoofer any vallue for such a setup. or do i need a bunkers Sub to get any vallue out of it? The Reciever i'm using is an Denon AVRX3600H and i use B&W AMP1 amplifiers between the speakers and reciever.
Which sound do you prefer B&W or Canton? and what is the difference?
These Diamonds are one of the best speakers ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy them. i have the same Vincent SV 234 = Great MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!! I play with the B&W 804 D4 as front and Dali Rubicons LCR in rear.
Is the Vincent SV 234 powerful enough for the B&W 804 D4 ?. And is the combination great ?. Thank you.

Great Video! How competitive are the RC-L compared to current speakers? I also have the Ergos, but I think they are quite punchy and just play unnaturally between 3-4 Khz.

those are the shit. patrick bateman’s were the 105/3. these are like their older brother. top of the line for 94. im interested in how much they were brand new in 1994.

The KEFs sound much warmer, richer and more powerful than the B&Ws right? Which do you prefer?

When you have the money, but not the place.
Then you buy them anyway and put them a bit closer to the wall + you put a sock in the ports, i run mine perfectly in a 25 sq m2 living room. Placed after wilson Audio's WASP principle. Distance between centre of midranges you multiply with ca 1.15, and that is your distance to respectable ear side. So if you have 100" between mids, you position your ears ca 115" from mids, respectively to both sides/ears. Mine are placed on 14cm high 60kg concrete blocks to get more elevation and nothing into the floor. If you can get your hans on the 801 alignment filter you get even more perfect sound. There is an alignment filter for every matrix 800 series speaker, and besides that there is an actual Series 800 Alignment filter, inside you have dipswitches to select specific model. In my ears, and i have had the posibility to compare, The B&W Matrix 801 S2 outperforms the S3 by far. Give them a current able amp and they will shine.

Those speakers are top! Frequency response 18...30.000 Hz . Music power handling 200 / 350 watts. Monsters!

@@Cupra317hp depends on your taste. the cantons demand a very large room, that is for sure. AND they are bassproof. You also have a frequency-correction box coming with them. I use them for 20 years now. I don't need anything else.

Are you sure the placement is doing justice?
I recently updated my canton ergo rc-l with the Canton Vento 896DC. The new canton is way more natural and neutral and creates a fuller bass. The old canton create a enourmous presence in the higher mids. Especially voices are very big and present which is also very impressive.
Did you use rcl with control unit or without?
I use the Control unit.

What are you using for amps to run these?
In this video i used to use Denon PMA-2000r, but the main amp is Vincent SV-234.

Which Sound better ? Canton or B&W ?
B&W 801 speakers are in differente league, neutral with very detailed also super natural sound. On other hand Canton's has that "WoW" factor wich makes them truly competitor against any speaker and the downside is that these don't sound as it was intended to..has "coloured" sound. It always comes down to preference, but you can't go wrong with the Canton Ergo RC-L.
it's playng a cd or mp3? the bass and treble are on Flat position? It's lodness or contour function active ?
Always playing CD with standart formats. Most of higher end amps lacks tone control because of pure signal path.
