Flat 5 substitution
Indeed it is! Thank you for listening!
It's great and very interesting How can you identify a scale like this to play over a non diatonic chord that doesn't belong to the scale
A trItone substitution for Bb7 is E7 (most guitarist would play an E9 chord.). Instead of thinking E Dorian or E Mixolydian (both would work nicely) I used E Major, You could hear it as the E Bebop scale which adds the b7 to the major scale, This works over all Dominant 7 chords ie the tritone substitution of D7 is G#7. Hope this helps,
Sounds great
Thank you for listening!
intéressant...mais du coup, ça donne une substitution tritonique, non?
Thank you for listening! Yes you can hear it in the solo as a tritone substitution.
jolie sonorité, très aérienne...
Thank you for listening!

Sounds lovely -what's your setup?
Thanks for listening. On this I played a Gibson ES 335 plugged into a Focusrite scarlet 2i2 and went into a Mac using garageBand as my DAW. I used the cool jazz combo amp. I used relay, a vibe pedal, distoryion set at crunch, and stereo speed. All virtual inside the DAW.
Thanks very much

What is the strap for
String dampener. Thank you for listening!
The fret wrap?
@@JoeyJenkins-c7e what is the purpose of keeping the strings damp? I didn't know they got dry I've never dampened any of my guitar strings, maybe thats why ive had so many break. thanks for the answer great playing
Do I dampen the cloth with oil or water?
@@josh-numbers The wrap keeps the open strings from ringing or feeding back at louder volumes. No fluid involved. You could also use a hair scrunchy. It does not prevent strings from breaking. Thanks again for listening!
Doorsy
Thank you for listening!
Do you only use pedal ?
Thanks fro listening! Everything I use is virtual through GarageBand. I have vibe, delay, distortion,, and stereo spread all going through the Cool jazz combo amplifier.
Sweet tone!

Thanks for listening!
who is playing the bass in the background
Thanks for listening! That is a bass line I I played using the computer keyboard using GarageBand as my DAW.
@@JoeyJenkins-c7e oh cool! and btw how did you learn playing the guitar or do you have any advices on getting better (im asking to get better at playing because i cant really keep up playing the bass and the guitar at the same time)
@@sog1e I went to Berklee for 2 semesters 42 years ago. I've played off and om since I was 12 ... more off than on. I f you want to learn to improvise you first need to learn the 7 fingerings for the major scale. Learn them in all keys. This will enable you to learn all the modes like Mixolydian, lydian and dorian that are based off theses fingerings. Practice singing a line and then playing it ten minutes a day, This will help connect you to your Guitar. Hope this helps!
@@JoeyJenkins-c7e thank you sir
Wonderful playing. Thank you for sharing. Can you talk more about what settings or effects you are using for that tone? Thanks
I go direct into GarageBand. From there I use the cool jazz combo amp, slight distortion, a stereo spread, vibe pedal, and eq. Thanks for listening!
