You are great. Does that technique work with Murano glass COE 104?
It is a bit risky changing punties like that, especially if you are inexperienced. It doesn’t take much to have a molten hot marble rolling across your table and down onto the floor. I took a class with John Kobuki, and he taught us a much safer way to change punties: warm up your marble mold a bit, put your marble into the mold and gently tap your punti with a tool close to the marble to get it to let go. Then turn your marble over using that warm punti to rotate the bottom side up. Then heat up your punti and gently attach it vertically to the marble. Using this method is simple and I haven’t had to chase a marble across the floor in a very long time!
En qué lugar está usted realizando su arte
Looks great like the shape as well..wish mine came out looking that good.
What are the rods your using to color called?
i love you glass name its so deep and complicated to rememeber, im offcenter glass, its not the luckiest name - auston oslapas
Felicidades de dónde es usted
... smart girl! Thanks for the example of your mastery with glass. I would be interested in the tempering curve in the cooling furnace ... May glass keep you entertained and nourish you well! translated by a translator 👍
1050F, and seams to be ok to crash the kiln on small pieces. you could definitely flame anneal and it would be strong too
I love your videos so much 🥹
Can you do a video just exactly how you are doing this one on how to use the kiln? Please
Nice
What are those tongs you use at the end? I only have the kind with all the little wires and i really dont like it for little stuff
very cool. I love mine too. Congrats
Let’s gooooo
Great tutorial, you explain things so well for me, I very much appreciate it
Those colours go so well together. Thank you
Very nice, thank you for making this video.
That looks really cool! Thanks for sharing your technique
Thank you for putting this one up, I’ve gone back and forth about 10 times now and I think I’m starting to get it right
That's awesome to hear! I'm glad you found this helpful :)
That’s really neat, you are a excellent teacher, thankyou
Thanks for watching!
Do you make any videos using Boro?
All of my work is done with boro :)
I’m looking at your Etsy shop as a fellow glass blower. Why would you make everything so cheap price wise not a good move. That devalues your art and ruins the market for everyone else trying to sell their art for a decent wage. You could sell this for a lot more , along with why are you just including the hemp cord with purchase, you should be charging extra. Hemp cords take forever to braid I make them as well. Your prices do not reflect the time spent. Your prices barely cover glass material if you’re using boro. Cost of oxygen etc.
Thank you for sharing your perspective, I want to give an in-depth response here because I feel this is an interesting and nuanced conversation that other viewers may find valuable. First, I think it's important to mention that at the time of this comment, I am running a 15% off flash sale, so that may be skewing your perspective on my typical pricing just a bit. My prices are based on two main factors: 1. Market research including comparing my pricing to other similar Etsy sellers (which despite your claim that I am underselling, I am very in line with other sellers pricing) and research done in person at farmers markets to test different price points and the resulting price resistance vs. sales volume. 2. This math equation: Cost of goods + overhead costs + (time x hourly rate) Cost of goods includes all materials- gas, glass, hemp cord, shipping supplies, ect. Overhead costs includes all other operating costs such as Etsy/square/market fees, shipping fees, accounting software, etc. My time is calculated based on actually timing how long each item takes on the torch, timing how long hemp cords take, and doubling that time to account for all other business related activities. At the end of everything, I am able to pull approximately a 60% profit margin after all costs, which breaks down to about $40-$60/per hour of torch time or $20-$30/per hour after accounting for making hemp cords and other business related activities. While it may not be enough for everyone, I'm fortunate enough that for me this is a comfortable living wage. All that being said, my wage is dependent on demand for my work and I do plan to strategically raise my pricing when my sales volume hits capacity- I'm not quite there yet but I think this is coming very soon! All this to say- with all due respect to you and other artists and how they choose to operate- I am confident in my pricing structure and it works for me at this stage in the development of my art business.
Nice video. Would you mind holding the rod still for a few seconds, vs rotating it?
I will definitely be more mindful of this moving forward!

love the angle of your shots! so easy to see what you are doing!
You make it look so easy! 😳 Thanks for sharing your passion! QUESTION…. Why is a kiln needed after creation?
Thank you for watching! The purpose of the kiln is to allow the glass to cool very, very slowly. This process is called annealing and increases the strength and durability of the glass :)
@@metaphysicalcreation Thank you for that explanation! I live to learn and know the science behind the processes!!!!! Your little animals are so stinking adorable!!!’
I have definitely been feeling that lately but I’m happy I got on the torch last night and going back on this morning before work
Felicidades
Muy bien felicidades
Thanks for sharing I really appreciate it, I'm new on this!
Thanks for watching!
Great tutorial! Thank you.
I enjoy your vids, just wondering if it were possible to have a sodium flare filter on your camera? Or maybe a split screen?
I will definitely look into this!
This item make in our workshop
You are amazingly talented and gifted. This is gorgeous!
Thank you so much ❤️
Great video, it is rare to find someone who can describe their process so clearly. What does pushing on the dots with your tweezers do before you start the implosion process? Would flattening the bottom of the dots with the graphite pad work the same?
Poking the dots with the tweezers makes them longer and thinner after imploding, flattening them actually has the opposite effect and makes them wider and flatter :)
Do you run off tanked air? or what sort of air setup do you have on that mirage?
Yes I run tanked oxy and propane, just a regular 20lb propane tank and I have 2 80CF oxygen tanks :)
I think You're RIGHT MESMERIZING my friend☝🏽💎
That force happens to be evil
Very articulate, and centered cam. In another video, someone recommended a filter for the cam. When displaying the piece, please hold it steady without turning.
I appreciate that input I'll definitely try to remember to stop turning everything!
How long u left it in kiln till you took it out to air cool?
I generally use stringers right after pulling them so I don't put them in my kiln
That's pretty cool I like it! Galaxy is one of my favorite backing colors, I use it in a lot of my videos. I also always keep a punty ready with a bit of galaxy on the end. Quick tip too - if you want to use a filter for your camera, get some of the paper glasses from Mountain Glass. You can cut them up and stick them to your camera, super simple!
Great idea I'll look into that thanks!
Good video, nice clear instructions. You make it look easy!
Thanks for watching!
Love the pendent, and the setup is pretty great as well!
Glad you enjoy it!
Steven Pressfield has a book about that secret force. Nice🍄
Hey beautiful girl !!! First of all love your videos love your art very kool I’m an glass artist here in California I did stop making glass for some years now but I can’t wait to go back starting torching again I love making art glass by the way I’ll like to say that I love how you explain everything you do as you working on your art so easy to follow your directions I’m pretty sure your followers are appreciate your videos and also with all the respect I do love your voice if you were my teacher wowwwww anyway girl keep up with your amazing glass art let’s make kool glass
Thanks for watching! Best of luck on your future lampworking endeavors :)
Thanks for the tutorial. I’m not really sure why you would use glue for the stake though. If you have ever had bead release fail, you know that the glass will weld itself to the steel stronger than any adhesive!
Lol! Yes you're definitely right about that 😂 I mostly do it to save space in my very small kiln and to not have any marks/discoloration on the steel
Thank you - very nice, even loop. :)
Thanks for watching!
Can you please put a link to your etsy store in the video description?
I can't add clickable links until I meet the requirements for the partner program but you can find my stuff at metaphysicalcreation.etsy.com :)
I appreciate this so much!! I got a random bunch of rods that keep coming out clear when I use them so I’m gonna try this technique when I get back on the torch. You’re awesome!!
I'm glad you found this helpful! Striking colors definitely have a learning curve but it is so worth it once you get the hang of it 😁
