Northanger Abbey By Jane Austen | FULL AUDIOBOOK | Romance, General Fiction, Humorous Fiction
Northanger Abbey follows Catherine Morland and family friends Mr. and Mrs. Allen as they visit Bath, England. Seventeen year-old Catherine spends her time visiting newly-made friends, such as Isabella Thorpe, and going to balls. Catherine finds herself pursued by Isabella's brother John Thorpe (Catherine's brother James's friend from university), and by Henry Tilney. She also becomes friends with Eleanor Tilney, Henry's younger sister. Henry captivates her with his view on novels and his knowledge of history and the world. General Tilney (Henry and Eleanor's father) invites Catherine to visit their estate, Northanger Abbey, which, because she has been reading Ann Radcliffe's gothic novel The Mysteries of Udolpho, Catherine expects to be dark, ancient and full of fantastical mystery.

I'm listening a second time in a row. I enjoyed it so much. Which I just thought I'd share since so many shared it was too boring. 😅❤ her family is very annoying but I just pictured them like Tim Burton characters. Something about it reminded me of the movie Amélie which I also loved.

2:33:21 by this bookmark is when I really started finding the book enjoyable. Her family is less annoying and actually just super funny, because they are so self centered and close minded, they just can't imagine a twenty nine year old woman could have any thoughts or opinions of her own. Maybe it's just funny for me because I know so many people like that.

The name of this author was unknown to me. As I listened to this work of art I realized in my opinion, I was listening to a classic. However I did not realize that it IS a classic already. I am halfway through it and IN it. Magnificent tone. Authentic. Much I can relate to. Gratitude blooms in me as she experiences it. This book explodes with life with this reader. I think this is the longest, type with one finger " on a small screen that I have ever done. I don't guarantee that you will love this book. Reflects a Gratitude journey.

Montgomery is perhaps Canada‘s most prolific and beloved author. She was born in 1874 and this book was written in 1926 at a time when most of Canada was still living in the Victorian era. I particularly recommend “Anne of Green Gables” and “Emily of New Moon”.

I really enjoyed this audio book! Deeper than most. Clean and discripitive. I appreciated the narrator. Really brought the book to life in my mind. Several twists and turns along the way. It was a little slow in the beginning, but it was worth it!! I think this book would make a great movie!

I thought the narrator had excellent diction and a pace both brisk and clear. Also, the author, born in Sydney, Australia, moved to Great Britain at age 3. A British accent seems appropriate to me. ❤
