Musashi (武蔵) Expedition
Приєднався 10 бер 2015
On March 2, 2015, a research team led by Paul G. Allen has located the Musashi, one of the world’s largest and most technologically advanced battleships. The ship was sunk during World War II and, despite numerous eyewitness accounts, the exact location of the ship was unknown. The Musashi Expedition was an 8-year effort and the team relied on historical records from four different countries, detailed topographical data and advanced technology aboard Mr. Allen's yacht, M/Y Octopus. the team has been sharing video and images from the wreck.

Yamato is the legendary battleship until the planes are keep targeting yamato
Its at too great a depth to be salvaged.
The Imperial Seal of the IJN was not only on the three Yamato class battleships but all their cruisers and carriers
Thank you very much for finding Musashi. 武蔵を見つけて下さってありがとうございました。
Did I miss them scanning the single 18-inch cannon they found?
Need better lighting
October 31 1959
🙏❤GREAT 👍👍JAPAN MUSASHI & YAMATO BATTLESHIPS HISTORY 🙏❤✌✌
Wait how does the musashi wreck looks like
Crazy to know what lies beneath the waves.
The surviving 94 yo crewmember visited the wreck , must have been surreal among Americans, 71 years later
28:37. 150 horsepower you say. So basically a Camry has more horsepower than Musashi.
我が国の軍艦 武蔵を見つけてくれてありがとうございました。
A lot of good pre-late 1940s steel that needs to be recovered....before the Chinese do it. Why? Cause steel made after the 1940s is contaminated by atomic activity. The Chinese are currently "mining" old WW2 wrecks for steel.
i have a question why have no one found none of the main and secondary turrents
Wh7y they did not have massive flood lights to help with fantastic images of the biggest battleships ever made?
My name is Tony from Australia I that the Bismarck had the biggest guns
The auxiliary rudder was installed after the loss of the KM Bismarck due to rudder damage .... Also the golden chrysanthemum was installed on their large aircraft carriers also, not just their BB's ....
Such a beast of a ship.
how about yamato
Iran was a peaceful country under the rule of Shah of Iran. It was destroyed by the CIA interference that saw bloodshed and the emergence of Islamic Clerics and wars later on.
Extraordinarily powerful and tough warship, capable of enduring relentless punishment before succumbing. How levels of destruction escalate, in all realms of military conflict! Today, a single low-yield tacnuke would utterly destroy an aircraft carrier or giant battleship in an instant. 😳
What's really scary is not a single fish I have seen this in the Philippines swimming out about 2 kilometers nothing.
😊😊!!!
Were they able to locate any chopsticks?
It's mind bending to imagine the hydro static effect of a miss is not a miss
How many men went down with her, that day?
If a near miss didn’t sink her? What did ? Was there any air bombs actually sink her ?
Tied down with battleship chain
Wave action
Obviously not a iceberg
Die hard
Are there plans to enter the ship through the barbets? It would be interesting to see some of the interior of the ship
Thanks. That's what I wanted to see,so I'm outta here now.
The 2 biggest ships of any kind in the world at the time, and the 2 biggest battle ships bar none ever. Musashi and Yamato.
What a waste of a great ship. Only used for a couple years. All those man hours making such a fine engineering marvel. Only to be lost to the bottom of the sea.
Can we not get the main guns up on the surface for museum display
She is still the property of the Japanese government.
USS Johnston took the bow section right off with a torpedo. The Yamato then sunk the Johnston. Samuel B, Hull and Johnston. Taffy 3's Tin Cans. Biggest battle on water RIP Warriors Of The Sea.
早く引き上げろよ
So is this ship in 3 peices ?
Wow. For once a Japanese Ship actually lays upright on the bottom.
is the musashi hull intact or did it split in half similar to Yamato when it sank?
They need to raise this as is and put it on display as found.
I'm looking for stern image, not transom, just like a stern Cruiser.
The coolest ships always go down and sink in the deepest spots.
Wish we could have seen the 46cm guns but it seems it was way out in the debris field as seen on the monitor. Wonder what happened to the other 2 as they were not visible within wide area the team already scanned. Still glad she was found like her sister which serves as a closure to two of the most iconic machines of WW2 and their crew.
During the Battle of Leyte Gulf, Musashi was sunk by an estimated 19 torpedo and 17 bomb hits from American carrier-based aircraft. Almost all of the torpedo hits should be on the same side.THE USN tactics did this purposely to make the ship list to the point of rolling. As she rolled many of the torpedos hit lower toward the bottom below the armor belt. The bomb hits were to disable her guns, and kill the gun crews....
Have a look at 1:38:22 on the timer, I think I saw in the murkiness to the left of the structure with the access hatch what looked like three large barrels. Could this be one of the main gun turrets upside down?
Too much saliva when they talk. Bloddy disgusting . . .
Japan had the greatest ships of WW2!
