Welcome to my channel. you will soon realize that there is not much of a theme or pattern to the videos I post, like or comment on... if I make a gadget that I think is pretty cool, then it might end up as a video.

Aluminum RC Jet Boat (Part 11) 10S Lipo and New Grate Testing
Переглядів 11 тис.8 років тому
temporary video: more clips and pictures of the grate changes to add. trying 10S for the first time and also I have made changes to the bottom of the boat to try to improve grate function. I'm fairly happy with the grate and really happy with the 10S. I don't know why, but it takes a very long time to recharge the jet should the boat hop out of the water. you can see this when the boat stops an...
RC Unlimited Hydroplane Race Boat (Ms. Wahoo) - Intro
Переглядів 7 тис.8 років тому
Introducing my hand made vintage unlimited hydroplane racing boat. This boat was made from plans that were for Ms. Wahoo, an old school racing team that is still making and racing boats today under the name Ms. Budweiser. I am going to start a new series of videos about this build. Showing the building process and hopefull, sooner than later, some testing videos.

I made a new intake grate for the jet boat, however, I don't think the changes helped the boat. This video describes the reasons and shows the process.
Aluminum RC Jet Boat (Part 7.1) Bilge Pump - problem solved!!!
Переглядів 10 тис.8 років тому
Automatic bilge pump problems solved. After frustrations with my bilge pump not being able to prime itself, I have finally solved the priming problem. Hope to test this in the real world soon. But, I'm confident that this will work every time.
Aluminum RC Jet Boat (part 9) - Full Throttle and view from inside
Переглядів 22 тис.8 років тому
Finally made a decent video of this boat on the water. I strapped a gopro to my head (since I don't have a camera man) and I mounted another gopro inside the boat looking out. This would have been good, except the inside of the boat took on too much water and the inside got a little steamy. So, it fogged up shortly after taking off. But this is finally a decent video.. and not just my boat zoom...

!!!!!!!!FULL THROTTLE ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH THE VIDEO!!!!!! - (full throttle happens at 6 min 50 sec) Made some mods to the jet intake grate. I believed it was the source of some of the issues I have been having. The modifications I made to it seem to have resolved my issues. Which is very exciting for me. Because of the fixes, I can now go to full throttle. I will make a different video, illu...
1967 Mustang Fastback - Driving with a mounted gimbal (sorry about the audio)

Showing how much a gimbal can help with video quality while driving around. Main video is gimbal video and the little video is a solid mounted camera, pointed at the gimbal. Sorry about the audio... i couldn't get the two videos' audio to line up. Eventually I said $&%# IT and called it good enough!! Still a cool video (i think)
My 1967 Mustang Fastback - Driving to the store
Переглядів 3118 років тому
Going to the store in my 1967 Mustang Fastback. Mounted the gopro to the door and went for a quick drive. This car is a blast to drive and it is a bit of a "sleeper"... even though it's bright red and sounds like if might rip your head off. Not like it's a station wagon or anything, so it's hard to be too secretive about it being fast.
Aluminum RC Jet Boat (part 7) Automatic bilge pump - doesn't work!!
Переглядів 3,8 тис.8 років тому
I spent some time messing with this little pump, getting it modified to work in my boat and once I got it installed and fired it up.... it couldn't move more than a couple drops of water. But! I will get it figured out and hopefully this thing will work like a charm when i'm done.
Aluminum RC Jet Boat (part 1.1) The build process
Переглядів 81 тис.8 років тому
Here is a collection of photos I took while I was making this boat. The jet drive is crazy big, so that took some convincing to get it in the hull and not leaking. In the end it took a gasket and some RTV to make it water tight. works well though (i think) I will be the first to admit that the parts I used to make this thing are over-kill and the boat has a ton of power. So... I don't need the ...

Tried to beat the sunset, but didn't make it. Got there and it was too dark for the gopro. When I was there it didn't seem very dark, but gopro's aren't all that great at night. But.... since I took the time and got muddy and mosquito bites.. I'm posting this video anyway.
Aluminum RC Jet Boat (part 6) How to get water out of a baby pool
Переглядів 12 тис.8 років тому
Throttle up to a little over 1/2 and watch the water fly. Watch the water levels after each little burst of power. The boat would actually suck itself down to the bottom of the pool once the water level got below a certain point. I don't know how many gallons per minute this thing moves, but it's quite a lot. Fun day at the folks house for father's day. Dad thought the boat was a trip! hahaha. ...

Where located???
Need plans for that boat
The people who made the hull went out of business. Can't get them anymore. The rest is just me making it work with the parts I had. No plans for that.
With having to watch all the early vids, I'd like to know what diameter your pump is and what motor,( inrunner/outrunner lengh, dia. K V rating.) And like others stated, batts c rating needs to be high. I was running my diy disability scooter at 10S but was unhappy with my top speed and run time so bumping it to 20S didn't just get me double the top end but added about 50% to my run time if using near full throttle and even more around 2/3's or less. 37 mph on a 12" front wheel is very hard on the nerves. Next one will have 20" at least wheel size.
Oop's With out watching.
$0.02 = Watch some "World Jet Boat" Racing. Like the Salmon River races Pause on a boat getting air and see what the bottom of the boat and intake look like. Watch the show n shine to see what the jets output looks like. ( stove piped down to be smaller and moved to the bottom side to be at lowest point. And rc boats I've done, using a ride plate to make it seem longer and protect the parts outside the boat. Helped a lot. Enough motor and it should be sucked to the surface of the water having only the intake riding on it.
How did you design the structure
Hey bro, I first seen your videos a couple years ago and I got one thing to say, I love it. Any improvements to the intake? I know it's been a while. But if you haven't I think I might have the solution. Let me know. Thanks for the inspiration, I just got to get the fab skills now, lol.
Ya I made the bottom all smooth and flush with the grate. The original grate. The scoop thing didn't work out. Look at the bottom of real jet ski's and jet boats and just copy them. They have already figured out what works. I was trying to reinvent the wheel... which turned out to just waste my time lol.
@Brian Vaughan rite on. Good to hear. But..... there's always room for improvement. Check out Mike Finnigan(most likely spelled it wrong) on you tube. He's got a bad ass jet boat, long story short, in one of his videos he's grinding/shaping the edge rite before the intake to make the more water flow into it. Or something like that. "Faster with Finnigan ". Check it out. Hope it helps . Keep me posted
@mike fejeran oh hell ya. I think I know who you're talking about. I'll check it out. I haven't messed with this little boat in a while. The motor was a bit too much for the jet drive and wrecked the stator. I've got a replacement jet drive now, but I haven't had the energy to mess with it. It's a lot of work! But I've got all the stuff. Maybe I'll be able to use info from that Mike guy to make jet boat 2.0 better than ever.
@@Rolblox_girl let's be honest here... my motor is just way too much for this boat. I did it because... well... it was awesome. But in reality, I'd prolly be better off using a smaller motor.
@mike fejeran Finnigan's Garage! Ya I've seen his stuff. His boat is insane! Good recommendation btw. Thanks!
Hi, i need to get in contact with you about the jet drive. I need to source one or get some info. Its for a senior design project.
Check out aliexpress. They have some. Search jet pump. Or there's a German company that makes jet drives.. can't remember their name right now. But they make very good quality stuff. Search a bit and you'll find them too.
ua-cam.com/video/LUjgNP3a_nU/v-deo.html
.. the components are to heavy for the hull
jet pump is too big for the boat, not enough weight to get the water up to the impeller quick enough.
I bought a few different types of membrane pumps. low volume compared to your pump but zero problems with sucking up water. and even could place a bigger one compared to mine since your boat is also pretty big. then you have no problems with sucking it up and have a good flowrate. Can you tell ke what sensor you use? is it on and off of does it activate a timer when running?
I know I'm a little late to the party but you've done something that I've been wanting to do for years. I just don't have the talent/skills. What ever happens to this boat? You still have it? Great job on it by the way.
I don't know if it is a 3d printed jet or not but first things first. The scoop I believe would cause a good deal of drag or resistance in the trade off for more water. It's just physics. The reason I asked about the 3d print is maybe The intake could be redesigned so that it doesn't make the water go up and out. Instead just have the jet pretty much flush with the bottom of the boat and have the intake on an angle, say 20-30 degrees, thus not making the water have to go up and out. It would be more like in and out which would work great in theory because there would be no resistance and you would be alleviating more resistance by providing a more straight forward path for the water to travel. The other thing to keep in mind is the intake pretty much becomes a vacuum when the internal prop is rotating, so much so that it doesn't really need any assistance in getting more water. The only thing that will increase the speed and mass of water entering the jet is the speed and mass of water exiting the jet, so more power is the only thing that will work in combination of making a more streamlined path for the water to travel. Hope this helps.
Are you still building??
No, not really. I've got a bunch of stuff I would like to build/finish. Just don't have the time these days.
@@briancv83 same here mate, have half projected to be completed here in Ireland, boats planes the ood car just don't have the cash to finish off🤣 take it handy again great boat
Great job mate
I know it been 5 years since uploaded but I what to build this beast please send plans
No plans available. I just built it... as I went.. sort of. The hull is no longer available, anyway. Going to have to find a hull.. a jet.. a motor and just squeeze them all together. LoL 😆
No worries mate thanks for replying again nice boat🤙
That is 1 hella of of a boat mate , wow nice well done🤙🤙🤙😊

Any dimension for the hull ?
Very nice setup. I need one for my boat. What pump water sensor and one way valve you using?
I watched a video some time ago of a guy converting a shallow draft skiff into a jet boat. He had the same issue. He solved his problem by designing/building a bulge into the haul on the keel if the skiff just before the pump inlet and I believe he just used automotive body filler and shaped a bulbous shape and it solved his problem. This comment is probably a day late and dollar short.
Hello. I know I’m a little behind, but what are the chances of you still being able to make one of these still?
Not very good... the guy who makes the hull is out of business. Otherwise, I could still make one if the price was right.
Excellent run 👍
Excellent job 👌
😁Ну и нагородил!!!!🤔
Kalau harga berapa...?
I had a similar experience with a 60 meter long real navy boat using real waterjet. In the case, ridiculously expensive side fin stabilizer didn't help at all. Amazingly, a simple fin at the tail of the boat solved the problem and yes riding at 100 km/h was a thrilling joy.
How does it perform on the water?
Eliminate the flat bottom on the hull, the water density is to low that is being delivered to the pump. Once you are at 3/4 to full throttle it is sending bubbles strait back to the pump due to the flat bottom, try implementing a dead rise all the way back to the to the pump so that the bubbles that are being created by compression are shuttled off to the sides giving a dense stream of water to the original grate. outboardjets.com/boat-selection/

Building a scale boat and was curious about the jet drive and where it was purchased and the diameter of the output and thrust capability of it
The one in this boat is out of production. I'd buy one from MHZ. They are really good quality and will have all the specs you want.
A pleasure to watch!
How much for build plans
To build which part? The hull?
@@briancv83 yes the hull
@@jaredaugust2879 well, it's not my design. I got it from a company called Mozziecraft. You might try touching base with them and see what happens. If they are not around anymore, we might be able to do something.

Hi Friend - Great Job on the completed project ! I’ve been looking for a Mozzie Craft boat for years. Can you tell me what happened to the company and where I may possibly purchase one ? Thanks much !! Luzine
Hey thanks! It's a great boat and was a load of fun to build. Not sure about the company but I talked with the owner once by emailing this email address: info@mozziecraftrcboats.com So you might try sending them an email and seeing what happens. They might work with you, even if they are "out of business" or whatever is going on there.
Hello Brian, do you have any drawings on this amazing build?
Verry nice!
I found that the little 9v pump out of a desktop fountain works great
any footage of how you made it? - i mean i know most of it is pretty simple.....
Not really.. the trickiest part was the wire.. but that's really not that crazy. Just gotta cut one end off of a perfectly good cable.. the rest is just using a hole saw and cutting holes in a guitar. (Which was the hardest part, morally speaking! Hahaha)
@@briancv83 Thanks a lot!
How much did it cost to build?
I honestly dont know. I never added things up.. but it was a lot.
Brian Vaughan what would be your guess
@@coltonstruckmeier455 hmm.. well, the big parts would give the closest guess. So the jet was like $375? Motor $200, esc $350 ish I think, hull $300? (Can look on their website) it was a long time ago and wasnt keeping track at the time. But all in it would have been around $1200 or so. This one got a little out of hand, if I'm being honest. More of an OCD obsession than hobby.
It looks like this jet drive nozzle just has a lot of drag or maybe has no good flow when steering. Maybe if you put a riding plate underneath to extend the mid of the keel backwards under the jet nozzle it will be a smoother ride without al the splashing. and maybe it is just the design of the nozzle. eigther way. It looks like a heavy duty unit but performance looks a bit off. Maybe I am wrong.
You're not wrong. The performance should be much better in my opinion too.
Is this guitar still playable? Cool idea though!
No, it was junk to begin with. It had a warped neck. But if you started with a good guitar, you could still play it if you wanted.
Where can I find the jet motor mount?
I forget exactly which one I have, but here is a link to the place I got it. Great store! 100% recommend them. www.offshoreelectrics.com/products.php?cat=Motor+Mounts
It has to much power to get a good, strong and steady water flow. if you crank up throttle to spin up the prop to suck more water, it wont happen. Your motor has to much rpm in this configuration. it just to powerfull for something like this. If you use a bigger prop with this motor is will make you faster. full throlle and it slurps..Its like makeing burnouts on the road with a car, if you hit full gas, your cat wont move fast, it just spins out where it is.
