It's easier to use a sectional matrix in this situation. Circular matrixes are usually used to restore proximal cavities on teeth that have no contact points. For example you want to do a mesio-occlusal obturation on 16 but 15 is missing or has migrated and the contact point is missing. Doesn't matter if it's a molar or a premolar...
Plus I recommend you to use Supermat from Kerr. Much easier to use than a Tofflemire...
