Why I Moved Back to India From the US | My Honest Experience
Переглядів 46 тис.Місяць тому
Ever wondered what it's REALLY like to live the "American Dream"? I did it for 13 years - working at Google, running marathons, living in downtown San Francisco... the works! But then I left it all to move back to India. In this video, I'm pulling back the curtain to share my NRI experience - the good, the bad, and the unexpected. Discover the REAL reasons why I decided to leave my comfortable ...
I'm NRI for 7 years working in software and I want to come back. I have saved up a bit not much but my wants are limited. Need to convince the wife :) A few more years maybe. Life here is relaxed, food is good, friends are here. Yeah it's corrupt, dirty, taxes etc etc. It finally depends on what people are looking for in life. Not everyone is chasing a Mercedes or two to three yearly foreign travels. Those who are speaking on Indian work culture, work culture is standard in the world. Asia and America are stressful. Europe is good. But Europe does not pay much.
I think my view is not about money india system not really thinking about our people spending tax money not accountable which leads poor life style , poor infrastructure we can keep adding on more blam like that but all NRI love india including me only the way things happening need to changed. I see there lot happening people talking now day more about tax asking more questions.
No justice in India . I lost my dad my sister take everything from me my father left for me . Even o can’t see my own mother . Justice system not good .
Better brain drain, than brain in the drain. ❤
Mu humble advice to NRIs, don’t come back. Just because we are suffering here in this almost failed state India doesn’t mean you have to. You are in a safer, quiter, cleaner & stable country. Be there, don’t return 🙏
bandhavah, shiva bhaktham cha, SWADESHO bhuvanathrayam. This is taught to 2 year old kids as the first prayer in their lives. Why would someone take 40years of life to realize this??😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dream is real it only works when you start thinking like Americans and be loyal to the land..I thinks America teaches to respect and accept everyone the way they are..
What life want ? Only Happiness. Yes, that’s it.
so according to you. life is smooth in India and if u choose to stay off work or get into the office late at your will its OK. If you are a working professional, working in US or America takes all of your week days, and only time left is the week end. In India you spend your time on the road commuting to work and in US you do all the chores yourself. Life isn't easy in either place. You winsome and lose some depending on where you are. That's reality!
I d'ont see why this video even has so many views. The points she made did not need any data backed analysis, they are very well know. Plus, she did not even take into account most important factors being quality of life. Pathetic Analysis. I bet the book she is trying to sell might also have more of the same generic content.
I would rather be delivery driver in US than in India.
Do I care Abt NRIs anymore? No i don't. Do whatever. You lot only think abt nationality when you are stuck in a warzone or face racism and need your country.
Thank u
I have been in USA 32 years according to experience, analysts innovation team work, simple, healthy, work 16 to 18 hrs a day, be organized, Absolutely avoid fantasy, fancy life, avoid constant trips to India, one trip push you back 5 YRS savings ratio, no crime, no short cut, follow rules, regulations, and laws, no violence in home environment, 90 control on unnecessary expenses, 40%savings ratio, good credit at least 780 minimum, every thing is possible I American, your choice is 100% but away from police, courts, illegal activities, stays with good people, app bhala tuo jag bhala " stays contact with GOD ,American is good country. Remember, every thing has read if you cross you finished I n American. I am happy I American
If you do not think of yourself as God’s gift to America, you can live here. Otherwise live in indi, where you mix better.
मुख्य कारण $ है ; जिस दिन $ = ₹ या ₹ > $ हुआ, सब वापस आ जाएँगे।
what 's the source of your percentages figure that you quote to make your message impactful. very shallow presentation. meaningless message.
I would like to see Nupur actually highlight that not all of us NRIs in the US want to showcase our wealth and status in superficial ways. Many of us are quite happy with being simple and humble and living well rounded lives that go beyond just talking about $$ and our kids accomplishments.
Half way into this rant I realized that people who put their foot on two different stones and cannot accept the reality of one country while craving for what they miss from their home country, will never make it in any new country.
I am happy and I became citizen and parents and every one are happy healthy and kids also happy community is good we have very good social life too. I didn’t even start looking job in India. My wife also says we are crazy to move back. We just wanted our kids to grow in India and learn something not taught in book.
Nobody knows the full form of NRI that is why
It’s all psychological, it’s the same earth, same sky , same air , if you have inner conflicts it leads to outer many usually mindless actions that normally leads nowhere. If you make 10x in USA for doing same thing , just keep working
They like to stay away from stress (mostly emotionally)
My take is most of the indians worry about salary difference, work culture , inflammation, GST, quality of life , pollution
India is not safe for women, will never let my kid go back to India. I might come back as health care is cheaper in India
Cause Indians who say they will go back but stay on are doglas.
This video is likely made by and for someone who moved to the U.S. on a student or H1B visa. They aren't really missing India; they’re missing their family. Gujaratis and Punjabis who immigrated to the U.S. on family-based visas are settled here, enjoying their normal lives with their parents, brothers, sisters, uncles, and aunts around them. There’s nothing to miss when your family is with you. I would love to know-if someone has no parents, no siblings, and no close cousins left in India, would they move back? The simple answer is NO.
If I have enough money so that i dont have to depend on my job in india i will move to india right now. If you have money quality of life can be managed.so yes only money is the issue currently NRIs staying out of india
Sorry, money is not the main reason people don't go back. Main reason, people don't go back because, children don't want to come back with parents to India. Parents can't leave their children and go back. They don't know anyone over there in India.
Come as single; work hard, earn a lot, spend less, save a lot. Get married. Make sure to go back before having children. This is the last opportunity to go back. If you miss this lifetime event, you will be stuck in the wrong place until your death and leave your child in wrong part of the world. Children born in overseas will never go back to India. At the same time, you are changing their destiny, Overseas can't become their home. They will never have any relatives, most of them may not marry.
Ise green card do to ye sabse pehele US jayegi - kud kud ke🙂Aur US ja ke dhando karke dollars me kamayege.
Because no one wants to live in hell😊
I am not sure how many of you guys can relate to this but I can understand western countries have high civic sense and cleanliness etc but I don’t feel I belong here . India brings into picture the culture I can relate to and sense of belongingness that I can call home . My spouse is hesitant to idea of moving back to India .
Healthcare bill dhika do 😂😂😂😂 40 ke baad saab move होंगे
N😢RIs work like Donkeys despite an affluence status back home in India!
Don't move back to India for emotional reasons, emotions come and go. If you compare India with America (money/comfort / hassle-free life, etc.), that would be a big mistake. Half-hearted approaches never see a happy ending. If you have some concrete ideas/plans, and a team/family to support your dreams, that's a different story. Kids (their education, not fitting into the Indian social set-up, they feel like out of place, etc.) is one of the main reasons why people move back to the US. if you want to live a low-key life, laid-back life, with enough money to support yourself and the family (without earning anything / average income ) it might work. If you keep the door open to go back, most probably, you will. People with no great plans and vision, shouldn't / don't move back to their roots. (they will always find an excuse or two to go back). Mark my words.🙂
Beautifully summarised mam, I can relate to each and every word you have mentioned here. Thx for bringing it up
Fact is india is so dirty, theres caste system its not well paid its a bad place
Nice video which covers some of the social and emotional aspects of considering a move to India. Another factor to consider is the NRI status or citizenship. Often people tend to conflate the terms NRIs, OCIs and PIOs even though they mean one or the other. There are subtle differences which might significantly impact individuals or families decision to move.
Hi Nupur We lived in cleveland , Ohio my husband is an IT manager in top company. I have 2 kids my daughter 9th grader and a my son completed 12 grade and he is taking break as he is not yet decided wt to do in his life. It been 16 years we are living in cleveland and i m a home maker . I never worked in America. I m 45 yrs and my husband is 47 yrs old. Over the past 2 years i m suffering from seasonal depression. I feel like we should move back to India as there is no family support here . I do have few good friends but over the years I found these friends are not available when u need a emotional support . I was socially very active in the indian community etc but now as i m feeling depressed in winter time due to snow i feel like moving out. What do u suggest for families like us to move back to India.
Technology. Communication is easy now. Foods are available
Interesting. More Indians in Middle Eaet which totally ignored
Your right
It’s funny how so many NRIs in the comments keep mentioning 'lifestyle,' yet I hardly see Indians involved in any sports in the US, let alone in the entertainment industry. They’re still doing what they did in India-forcing their kids to be bookworms. It doesn’t matter whether you live in India or the US-if you haven’t changed, you haven’t made any real upgrade to your life or your kids’ lives. You can still be different in India if you are unique and have vibrant thoughts. NRI kids in the US are still handed money and privileges by their parents, unlike others. You rarely see NRI kids struggling on their own-they continue to live in the protective cocoons their parents have built for them.
The biggest deal-breakers for me when considering a move back to India are the work culture-especially the lack of respect for personal space from colleagues-and the rat race mentality. The unpredictability of expenses in India makes it difficult to plan savings, as unexpected costs can arise at any time. Additionally, I’m not a fan of the cash-based culture in India. I prefer living by credit score rules, and with my credit score in the US being over 700, I value that kind of financial structure and norms. Furthermore, my kids are now grown and I do not want them to be like me - a sterotypical Indian techie, and actively are actively involved in activities like ballet, skiing, and swimming, which are readily available across the US but not as prevalent in India.
Video could have been more researched and include topics like high taxes, poor facilities of government school and hospitals, poor quality of air and water plus the growing culture of exploitation in Indian corporates
You are more baised against US. If Green Card was accessible just after 2 years of stay as in case of Germany, no one would prefer to come back.
Usa is way way better than living in the india😂😂😂
birth and death , its just a game .
western culture , western problems
