Iced Earth may be power metal genre, but they are still unique.
Iced Earth -> Sepultura... Gene Adam is the best vocal!!
Hearing him say "I'm a yankee" and "people in the south are lazy and stupid" ...pretty funny. Regardless, killer fucking musician. In my top 3 for sure. I met him when I was younger on the Horror Show tour. We chatted for a minute about music and got on the subject of Metallica. I said that I started my metal journey with James, but then learning Iced Earth songs took me into new territories of rhythm playing. He was like "Meh... Metallica would be so much better if they got a new drummer" Keep in mind this is before all the jokes and memes about Lars's basic-ass drum playing, lol. Larry Tarnowski was also just a super cool, down to earth dude.
You're so incredble, Jon. I admire you.
💪🏻 this song live💪🏻
Hammer Song, astrein!
Jon is one of my heroes. Its so fucking tragic he got mixed up in political bullshit in his later years and didn't realize Anerica was over 100 years ago.
We love you Jon. You're not alone. Never change who you are.
Maybe don't storm as many Capital buildings in the future, though...
@@AcidWords1 of course, when the narrative don't fit you, you suddenly love Capital buildings? You also love politicians? Power? Authority? So cute, protecting the establishment and pretending to be a leftist. Clown.
5:37 - 6:29 if America could go to Eurovision, would you vote for this song to go? I think it's time for the judges and world of Eurovision to listen to some REAL metal with balls and a mad singer. What do you think? Am I right or wrong?
Jon will be back I'm confident on that
Jon Schaffer is metal. He believes in freedom and the pursuit of happiness. An American Patriot.
Professor Brian Cox, astrophysicist, on keyboards..
Who would know this young guy will be involved in the capital riot years later?
You mean the tour around the capitol with guards allowing guests in after removing barricades?
@@LastSunrise1981 yes, I meant it.
@@okanalkan1261 Ah. I see you bought into the mainstream narrative.
@@LastSunrise1981 yes, I did.
Sounds..... alright
04:20 those were dark times, indeed .
greatest
I love this song! I love Dare! :)
Man John has been without permanent band members since day 1. His heart is in love with the music and band life.
Well we all know why he couldn't keep permanent members...saying that I love early Iced Earth up to 2002. The band was a big influence of my own musicianship.
I know I tried to copy his look and style when I was 23 or so despite being of Asian descent and with darker. I only ever wanted to look like these heavy metal guys and play the guitar.
Jon Schaffer is on point.
Been at it since 91 you'd think he'd take the time to get some guitar lessons
Fuck man that dudes rhythm backing guitar on all 12 albums is A plus.
@@darrenmasom8702 all jokes aside I think he has an excellent picking hand but that's it.
yeah, pretty much what I was saying is that picking hand is killer. But now you made me realize maybe that's all he is good at. He can sing too but still! Now I have to go and focus on his left hand to see haha. Thanks to
@@shazbotsmash2422 who do you think is great?
@@shazbotsmash2422 shit your right!! My eyes now see. Well that sucks
Anyone can tell me what kind of place does Iced Earth used to live and rehearse in this video? I'm assuming that they used to live in that same place where Morbid Angel (particularly Pete "Commando" Sandoval) once at.
Back then, bands used to rehearse in storage facilities. Pretty much like those in the reality TV show "Storage Wars"
@@christianrupay Cool. 👍
lmao Florida is hot im not gonna lie, i want to see Iced Earth live one day
Damn....back in the glory days when storage facilities were band friendly. Looks like paradise
Wish I could build a time machine just to go back and see them live during this era. Holy shit
Bullshit 🖕🖕🖕
Iced Earth are One Of The Greatest Metal Bands of All Time It’s Such A Shame That They’re Very Underrated 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I remember these dudes....played at Dick Lee's.....Reggie Wu was a badass
still is!
Iced earth Kicks Ass
1808-1809 se oli se sota.
Ei näytä yhtään miltään.
Even back then, Jon had his head screwed on tight. Knew what his vision is. Very cool video. Thank you for posting it. Hail.
Nice video ! I love Iced Earth and it's entire repertory ABout the lyrics of "Colors"... basically Iron Maiden's Killers :/
best band ever i get goosebumps every time when i listen to ICED FUCKING EARTH
I had the pleasure of being in Alloyed Witch with Randy shawver and Mike McGill before they joined I.E I knew Randy when he first started to play guitar he got good real fast about two years he was smoking! good times.
If Jon Schaffer wasn't one of the best songwriters in the world I don't think Iced Earth would've taken off. The music had to be perfect to overcome gene adams HORRIBLE singing. I mean... does he think that screeching sounds cool? You don't have range buddy, you're just cracking your terrible voice. Thank god for Matt Barlow, what a duo he and Jon made
Schwagg fuck off
Sounds aweseom to me! Fucking love his vocals - never got the all the hate.
He is good when he doesn't do the high pitched throat singing.
I grew up with it, so it sounds good to me
great band
It's awesome that Jon was able to stick to his guns and not give up like so many others. To have started in 1985 and still be here,in 2016,stronger and better than ever with Iced Earth! A true Metal LEGEND!
Jon "fuckin" Schaffer rules!!
does anyone have a copy of the purgatory60 tracks ? please hit me up if u do...i had the tape but in the 90's it got munched in the car cassette player... Gene was a cool dude . and i remember him playing an acoustic guitar and singing that Dracula song while we smoked out...
Best band in the fucking world, that's it!
Heroes of the 215. Can't wait to see them at TLA in Nov!
Awesome. Classic video. Hail Iced Earth.
vas ken ta reum troudball
Lol I'm From Tennessee...But Yeah even I will admit, he's rite, there are a lot of fucking idiots here in the south. I fucking love this band man. There like a mix of all my favorite bands ever. Love the current singer too. Matt was great, but this guy's just so damn versatile. Do kind miss Matt thou. He had a great unique voice like nobody else.
So the bands that practiced there were Nocturnus, Morbid Angel, Iced Earth, Powersurge, Roadkill. I expected some more TBH.
TheReincarnatedDeath Cynic
Ok! Thanks :) And where were the other Florida Death metal bands practicing?
TheReincarnatedDeath I guess they were spread around like usual. I suggest looking at this mini-documentary about the florida scene around 1990-91: watch?v=E1WAFh2ions Atheist were practicing in some type of warehouse, there's footage of that here on youtube were they rehearse Formative Years. Deicide I have no idea but there's footage of them aswell rehearsing in florida 1990 before the first album dropped.
+TheReincarnatedDeath TAMPA BAY.... iced earth, Dead, Morbid angel, nasty savage. (not death metal but savatage from there too)
+time2cclear "Dead"? Do you mean Death?
No commets ? :'(
HE LOOKS SO YOUNG!!! :O
He was only 23.
written in the walls :)
Missä kakkososa?
