Yep however in Denver Colorado it aired before Days of our Lives.

The longer closing was a time filler for international distribution only. Total runtime for distribution was 42 minutes.

@@boldbeautifulau Other weird thing was the international credits retaining the original theme tune which the US credits didn't - even though a long version of the new theme did exist which could have been put on them. It was all cool though on the int versions - we got the title sequence run at the speed it was supposed to be run at with the longer new theme and the original theme on the end.

My memory is that channel 4 screened VttBotS after LofG had finished. They could have aired a trailer after it but I cannot remember and the tapes have long since been junked. At the time I wasn’t into VttBotS so it is unlikely that I would have made a copy of such a trailer even if I had spotted it sadly.

Me too,I was 8 years of age when I watched TV series like sunset beach, passions and Days of our lives,but this kind of sunset beach theme song any time I listen to the theme tune ❤my heartsprings come undone I feel this tune than ever 🎉❤🔥❤️and I remember my childhood days❤❤❤ ahhhh am loving this tune!!!!

Sadly, like the dvds, it was missing from the Sky One broadcasts I originally recorded these from, hence why it is missing.

@@bachu2449 it was just a comment but maybe the Brady bunch box closing for all those episodes kind of had to be banned few decades after they showed the 1st several reruns of them I’m not to sure if that’s it or not but that can be to my opinion

@@colinkessler238 I took no offence from your first post. Just thought I would explain the absence of the missing grid. I doubt the grids were banned. I think I read once that the three parters were edited into movies but if that were the case one would expect the recaps to be missing as well, which thankfully they aren’t. The show could do with a HD release but I also read that the original negatives were damaged.

Bachu - Thank you for the response. Like you, I was never a fan of ANOTHER WORLD, either, and I didn’t watch the show regularly, but I absolutely loved this end credits theme song. To me, this was one of the best soap themes that I have ever heard, and I have watched quite a few soaps in my time. Boy, do I miss the days when there were 12 or more soaps on the air all at once, and it is a shame that daytime only has 4 of them now. Nonetheless, thanks again for posting this montage of AW end credits. This brings back great memories for me!

I always got the feel that it was an alternate opening theme. But that it was too good to waste so they made a "closing theme".

@@karmicchameleon5816 I actually preferred this closing credit theme to the original theme.

Always remember how that particular edited closer came from a 1998 episode and they patched over the copyright date to make it read 1999...except the patched over version read 'MMCMXCIX' - which is 2999!

@@chriswathen9612 Yes, it was odd that. The shots of the beach were put together for the European episodes I believe to make them better fill an hour timeslot. Why Five didn't just trim off that and leave the proper credits I don't know. Would have been nice to have had them show the final episode with it's proper credits. Stranger still as it was a ratings winner for them and loads of people including myself stay tuned to hear John and Pauline talk over the closing credits and basically take the mick.

I remember them doing this and I always used to love the super long credits. In the US when I was there for a while it was always just the actual credits. They always got rid of the lead up. They would go to commercial break then come back with the credits for that actual episode. Sometimes 15 seconds sometimes 60 and when the theme changed on the opening credits so did the theme at the end. This didnt happen on channel 5

@@brianharrison3676 I don't think the US had the long credits. I think because of PAL speed up they added the longer ending credits and slowed the opening credits so they could play the theme tune twice to pad out the time for the European versions. US version was always about 35 seconds and the UK version 70. I do recall seeing a US version that was only about 10 seconds once on UA-cam

Jared Linden - I have also wondered why Victoria Wyndham’s name would appear first in the credits before Constance Ford’s name, and Constance joined the show before Victoria did. The only thing that I can figure is that Victoria got the top billing spot due to a clause in her contract depicting that she is first billed (similar to the clause that Denise Alexander had in her contract with AW to where she was the last billed star with the coveted “and” credit before her name) or Victoria was billed first because Rachel was such an ICONIC character that the producers wanted the show’s leading, central character to be placed front and center in terms of cast billing.

Joe Cole - Hi, Joe! Thanks for the response. I wondered if Victoria was billed first in the credits because of Rachel being the show’s lead, central character and thank you for confirming that. I was never a major fan of the show, but I do recall reading somewhere that Victoria was the lead actress for the show for years and she received top billing after the 1988 death of DOUGLAS WATSON who had played Mac Cory. Anyway, I feel that it was rightfully so that Victoria was billed first in the closing credits, and shown last in the opening credits due to her Rachel being the show’s lead, central character.

That's because Victoria was the "Star" of Another World thus she got top billing. Yes Constance Ford was on longer the show longer than Victoria and Constance came on the show opposite Robin Strasser who originally portrayed Rachel.

@@KevinPiland not sure what u mean..i kno it was an nbc show ..what i meant was that it also aired on ctv canadian from its debut...everyone in canada watched it..from hosewives to teens to fisherman...we only had 2 channels in the sixties and seventies and another world was the only soap from 64 till 76...even when it was done it averaged 4 million canadians out of a country of only 38 million!! ...the show knew this thier stars were so appreviative made tons of fan appearances in canada..when cancelled alot of places closed for last episode....bars were packed to watch it...one of the top stories on national news the night before...yup def a canadian institution!
