The houses in which you dwell have our methods at heart to make them, the same goes for your keeps and the walls you shelter behind in darker times. Once you dawn on the thought that there is alot to thank us for, do not thank us with words, for words are hollow, do not thank us with coins, gems or jewels, we have that in plenty. Thank us with deeds and oaths kept. Then maybe, one day you will be let into our hearts and find the greatest gift any Dwarf can bestow, it is more valueable and lasting then mithril, more precious then diamonds and will last longer trough time then both. Our friendship.

While I love the somber and determined tone of the songs they really don't seem to fit the jackassery seen of the dwarves in the Hobbit movies. Dwarves there seem to be only slightly less haphazard than jar-jar binks. I prefer the longing for home and devotion to tradition that is portrayed in the books over the comical juggling and carnival tricks seen in the movies.
