Play through of the fabulous 1976 tune Car Wash by Rose Royce. The main groove sounds like 2 maybe 3 parts. I played like I used to play it out combining them into single part. Great fun! Guitars: Fender: CS 64 Tele, CS 60 Strat, USA Strat Pedals: Whirlwind Compressor, TC Timeline delay, Analog Man Envelope Filter.

Lovely… a fabulous take on this classic
Excellent tune, love it!😀
Love it!
Gimmie some surf music any day of the week and I’m in! Lovin’ the jam and happy you’re dropping tunes again!!
Rockin' !!!
Love it!
Another amazing video! 🎶🔥 It's always a pleasure to see how you transform each note into pure emotion. Your blues style is unique and inspires me to go further.
!!! A surprise drop that caught the public unawares. Even industry insiders had no idea that MPAZ was dropping this tune. Git With It was worth the wait!
Right on, back on the Tube!! Diggin’ the jams!!
He's back!!!
Nice job on a great tune. I always think this tune sounds a lot like some of the Mancini Peter Gunn stuff.
Great playing! Can you tell me how this guitar sounds, unplugged? thanks
GOOD JOB, WELL DONE
tnx here from Amsterdam
This deserves more views!
really great playing. Im learning this song for my band....it's deceptively difficult and some pretty poor guitar "tutorials" out there . Love your little shuffles at 3.40
Great playing and nice phrases!! Lovely tone and gorgeous guitar :)
Great playing on a super guitar.
Had the 45 of this when I was a kid... 😂 nice job! 🎉
Just Superb!!! Thanks for sharing !!! Good song !!!
Love this song! ♥ Nice job on the guitar work. Takes me back about 45 years to the days of "D.K." -- 😆 Interestingly, not something I thought I'd see you play. 🤔
Thanks! Yeah it's a blast from the past. I played in a funk band for several years and this was a favorite. You should do a bass cover!
@@mpazguitar6482 Well now, I think I just might do that. 🙂
sounding good Marty!
wow, jus't can't stop looking at this simply georgious blue telecaster. What a nice color !!! Awesome choice ! 🙂 Very upbeat rhythm/clean song, well played!
Thanks. I've always loved the Lake Placid Blue Nitro finish from the 60's one of my favorite Fender colors.
Very smooth and tasty! Thank you.
You definitely got me keeping the beat with both feet there !!! You really seem to enjoy yourself which ain't bad thing ! Again, superb job and Keep up the Groove Groovin' !!! :-)
wow!!
Stylish ! Great !
Nice! Swinging
Great playing & Nice looking guitar!
Perfect for TikTok!🙃
Yeah, baby! 🤘
Yes!
I thoroughly enjoyed that one, my friend. 😎
The T5 is all to often overlooked as a great jazz guitar. I've had a Custom Koa for about 3 years and it's the most amazing guitar I've ever owned. Takes a little more processing knowledge to maximize tone but very versatile. Great video
Stock EJ21 strings? Lovely playing!
Thanks! Yes, they are the EJ21's
Enjoyed. Thanks
Nice Marty! Great Mark Knopfler vibe!
Love it! 👍👍❤👍
Heck yeah
So smooth. 👍👍👍
So cool.
Awesome, Marty! Did you play all the parts on the backing track?
Thanks! I used iReal Pro to make this backing track. It allows you to enter a chord chart, select the style and tempo and then it generates a backing track. It allows you to mix in bass, drums and select keys, guitar or vibes. I don't care for the sounds it generates for keys or guitar so I typically use some vibraphone low in the mix to fill it out. I then export this as a wav file into Logic and add all the rhythm guitar parts to complete the backing track.
@@mpazguitar6482 OMG, that is so cool. Nice work, bud.
round of applause for that.. tip top thks
Muito bom 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🇧🇷
Hey Marty, nice work. You may recall i was a student of Duke's some time ago. I saw this song on SJ and took a look at it. ABAC format in C. I suppose you could play in F over the B section with the last two bars a II/V back to C. Looks like you might be using G Ionian (or is that Mixolydian) over bars 5 to 8? Are you still synching your audio to vid? I like the pic in pic - I am not so tech inclined, but like to use a looper for my rhythm tracks. I had posted this on utube but I have not been happy with it and plan a redo soon. cheers
Hi Steve, Thanks for the comment. For this tune I really just played out of the chord shapes and related notes to generate leading tones to follow the changes. I didn't really think about it in terms of modes but that was just my approach. I play bars 5-8 as a ii-V-I in C. On the 1st time through that change I just run up a Dm7 triad followed by a chromatic line that pulls out the 3rd and b7 of the G then play a line that runs up to the root of C to state the I. The other 3 times I use a similar approach just played over different inversions of the Dm to start it off and ending on different chord tones. Yes, I still sync my video and audio - with some more refinement from when I first started doing it. I now record into Logic from my amp through an audio interface while filming at the same time. I mix the audio in Logic and then sync up the video and audio in an editor (iMovie).
@@mpazguitar6482 Thx for getting back to me. Yes, shapes are the way to go. Most all players i like, including Herb Ellis, all use shapes. Dream has a lot of opportunity for II/Vs, bars 3 & 4 and 7 & 8 of the A section, and 7 & 8 of the B section. Also, the dom 7 in the 2nd bar (B and C section) is great for a dim run to the IV (Fmaj). Great playing and say hi to Duke for me. Cheers
Nice double takes!
Cool. You made the backing track yourself as well?
Thanks. Yeah, a combination of iReal and multiple layered Guitar tracks that I did.
@@mpazguitar6482 So then, I expect an updated studio-quality version of "The Motley Shuffle". If you remember the chords, that is. *lol*
@@OldGuyOnBass LOL
Bravo!
I am a pretty decent self taught player. I think my 41 years of playing entitle me to make an educated comment. I am VERY impressed with your post, sir. Advanced level stuff, not even a tiny stumble with great clarity and smooth execution. Excellent work!
Thanks!
That's some serious swing!
Thanks!
