Record Labels Need To Stop Exploiting Dead Artists
Переглядів 4021 годину тому
Record labels releasing posthumous albums and unfinished songs after an artist's death. While these albums may seem like a way to honor an artist's legacy, they often feel more like a cash grab by record companies looking to profit off a deceased artist's name. These posthumous releases can be damaging to an artist's legacy, especially when they’re filled with unfinished, unpolished tracks that...

Doechii needs to focus on this to be great...
Doechii should have been top five .
Honestly, with the work she put in this year I wouldn't mind 4 or 5 too🔥🔥
I sooo have a crush on her personality and attitude 😅(This host)... I am a handsome Native American. A Widower, with my S.O. from 06'-19 when she suddenly passed. Now going on 5 years of no companion I just can't wait to find myself a super Woman like this 😍 one!
3:05 I understand your honest opinion 5:52 yikes !! 9:10 also hold my bitch accountable! We know she's hiding
G unit was the group and the label. Eminem was the one who brought 50 to dre and they did a joint venture he was signed to shady/aftermath.
That album was fire, I had that album
My guy in the cap is fine ❤ love your content btw!
This hard watching as a Sosa fan
I’m a huge fan too but I have to be fair… on my personal list he’s probably top 5🔥🔥🔥
Still waiting on that P'ND album though 💯✌️ can't wait
Why does everybody forget that Drake defamed first. Drake does not have a claim because he lost a fight he went low on first, actually the only person who might have a case here is Whitneym since she is the only civilian. It is incredibly hard to claim defamation when you're a public figure, especially since there are hints of what was said about Drake being true you. know with tne of the video of him groping an underage girl on stage and texting 14 year old Millie Bobby Brown, telling her he missed her and "helping her with boys" (her words). Everyone tunes in to hear your opinion but please try to gather facts too so that your opinion is based on something concrete. Also the first person to bring up Drake like a young girls in this rap beef was Drake - Taylor Made in the Tupac AI voice, so where is his claim?
He should do heart part 7
Its over
Drake CAN make a comeback, but his career will never be the same as it was Kinda like how Kanye made a comeback after his 2022-2023 controversies, he came back but his career wasn’t the same.
@@nathanplays5514 One can argue Kanye's divorce, long period of unmedicated mental illness, and current exploitation via drugs are enough factors to simultaneously muster sympathy for a possible comeback and diminish the strength of that comeback. Not that I'm sympathetic to Kanye, but Drake doesn't have the same extenuating circumstances
Here before the breakout. Calling it. Damn good videos
It'd take a lot of introspection and humility for Drake to turn back, and I'd be really impressed if he does years later. Also, isn't Kanye addicted to laughing gas or something? I'd imagine that's hurting his sanity more than it's been hurting already
I think he was top 3 but like with the whole saga this year and how he went about it im sorry he’s not anymore, how can u rap the way you rap and be soft irl im sorry he’s not top3 no more future took that 3rd spot hell I have no cap over j Cole any day. Then again this is my opinion😁
He should go back into acting.
He wasn't acting everything tho?
@@Slinguh1111 Drake was a suburban child actor raised by a Jewish mom in a comfortable neighborhood who pretended to be from the streets for the sake of a vibe. In all honesty, he'd be a great actor
@@Slinguh1111 He managed to act in Degrassi and act like he was tough on the streets. That's some great acting range if you ask me
i don’t think y’all understand what the Big 3 really means •Drake, Kendrick, and Cole all came out around the late 2000’s, hitting their stride arguably together around 2011-2015, • Their catalogue combined is unmatched (So Far Gone, Friday Night Lights, Section.80, Take Care, Born Sinner, GKMC, NWTS, 2014FHD, TPAB, IYRTIL, 4YEO & DAMN. etc.) •To describe them as musicians i’d say Kendrick is Goku, J. Cole is Broly, Drake is Vegeta…iykyk • The Moments they created: J. Cole being the first rapper to go platinum without features, a rapper starting his own successful label (Dreamville) with really amazing artists who are also doing well, Kendrick dropping the Control verse, & being the only rapper to win a pulitzer, Drake having the most hits & streams+rappers careers taking off just cause of the Drake feature • They are the musicians they are today cause of always being pitted with one another all these years…the history goes deep, removing one em will be like removing takeoff from migos •with that being said ya’ll should come up with a new name to add rappers like Tyler, Denzel, Travis etc.…these is just my 2 cents…oh & Kanye is an unc now, he’s part of his own era😂
4:12 so what? It's a lot of legacy acts that get superbowl. How long before rihanna performed she made her last album?
The world can’t and never really get the westcoast!!! We are Battle Centric and hated and loved by all at the same time. Unfortunately you guys don’t get it for a number of reasons, but we will just stop there! West ⬆️
We need to make podcast equipment more expensive
LMAO, Bruh it is already 😭😂
I don't want Nicki working with these lazy, untalented girls. The pressure they put on her to work with these entitled untalented girls, caused the music to suffer. The pressure to present a facade of unity inhip hop, has really cheapened the entire genre, but especially female rap. The Nicki discussion came off a little lazy and narrow. There's so much involved to come to such a flat thoughtless conclusion. Everyone is entitled their opinion, but it was probably better to stay on the topic you prepared for. Kendrick brought back the essence of hip hop, which is rebellion from the mainstream, and the spirit of fierce competition. That's why he’s winning. In female rap, Nicki gets disparaged for simply keeping it hip hop, because all those other little girls don't want to compete, they want her to hand them her career.
I disagree, Minaj is considered the best female rapper, doechii is going to be in the best rapper conversation. The difference is clear.
I’m not from the #West Coast and I’m definitely vibing with this album 💿 The album 💿 is fire 🔥
Enjoyed the commentary here. I think both your scores were fair. I have this album at 8/10, which is very good. Yes, it's not Kendrick's usual conceptual type project, where there's underlying themes, and an overarching concept to tie it together. However, I think he deliberately strayed from that this time, and just had fun with it, while propping up and feeding the west coast. At this point, Kendrick's basically competing with himself, far as sitting atop the hip hop throne. His non-conceptual "bops" album, which GNX is, is still better than 95% of the sh## on-offer in hip hop right now.
This album definitely had a very specific target audience. I'm from the L.A/Compton area and I'm definitely in THAT target audience. 🤷🏿♀️ #WestCoast
Im from Jamaica and it works for me 😂
New sub acquired. I like y’all’s energy “I WILL!” lol yall gunna af 11:52 facts!!!!!!
I find regulars critiquing kendrick amusing. The level of creativity, craft and delivery of kdot is beyond the scope of 99% of the population of the globe. to call some of the songs on GNX okay is baffling to me.
He’s the best rn
You Goofy Gimmick Lamar Glazers talking on the lawsuit & don't even know wtf y'all talking about. He sueing the record label for using Bots ect for Gimmick Lamar & that wack azz song was hyped up. That sh!t didn't get no play in the South or East Coast. & Old girl need Ozempic with all that Glazing Gimmick Lamar Diddy & Jay-z Puppet..
He's a technically better RAPPER than kenny and drake. Doesnt rely on gimmicky voices or melodic tones or chopped up schemes. Just straight rapping, and drops some of the best schemes of the year. Is he as artistic or successful as them? No. 😂 but yes he is top 3. Not being a drama queen doesn't negate his talent.
fair take 🔥🔥
Cole better shut ppl up when he drops The Fall Off
I actually completely agree with her rankings. That being said, GNX is so hype and addictive that I can't stop listening to it. They're all enjoyable for completely different reasons.
Exactly!
Talent over dramatic nonsense everytime
Your opinion is your opinion, if u think Cole doesn’t deserve the spot then fine but these 2 obviously have no idea what they’re talking about. It’s as if these 2 only listen to Kendrick.
lol nah the amount of music, rappers and genres we listen to runs deep❤
ummm, grippy!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@guilhermefernandessousa9514 it’s it’s mmmm🤔🤔🤔
the mixtapes are so good man. Friday Night Lights, The Warmup... Ofc Forest Hills Drive is a banger but The Off-Season is a great album too. And bro has some great songs among his other albums too... And is the GOAT in the fts. Its a legit Top3
that is true, and I love j Cole, i think he's one of our best rappers. but his lack of consistency hurts me...
@@TheRapLoft just a chill guy
@@cascallanezThe Off- Season definitely in my top3 album of the decade list right after The Forever Story then Melt My Eyez See Your Future
@@TheRapLoftwhat would you like from The Fall Off?
offensive question really
yes
j cole easily tops anyone in rap besides kendrick at the moment, in terms of quality
I agree. And forest hills was great but so was off season. I don't mind the 4 your eyez only nor do I have any problem with Born Sinner - both have some really solid tracks.
solid take🔥 Just remember. If you comb through all the BS, Fast food rap and rappers now a days you can find a lot of quality projects by rappers not as famous as the "Big 3" Doechii, Ab soul, Westside gunn, Tyler the creator, Jay Z and Travis Scott Just to name a few❤
Tyler over Cole? Common
not of all time, but as of right now
Tyler got a better catalog than j Cole.
@@therealtapedeck J Cole's albums sell better though
Are you guys talking all time or currently?

Of course, who else is bigger than him? No one

Not a lawsuit yet. It's certified lover boy's petition asking a judge for depositions, docs, and legal sundries from the pertinent people/entities so that his camp can prepare a lawsuit.
Good content, but young lady, he was correct, the company is UMG!!
I disagree completely with her music taste.
I also disagree with her, but every one has the right to their own opinion!
Oooo i like her!!!! Sis i ain't seen Kanye do nothing either! I wasn't eem looking! Kanye did NOTHING WRONG..all he do is rap and read his Bible 😂😂🎉
15:02 peaky blinders???
I'm from LA, South Central to be exact and I feel like GNX was made for the West Coast. On GKMC I feel he was talking to the world, telling everybody what Compton is like and the experience growing up there. On this album I feel like he's talking to us in Cali directly.
