The official UA-cam page of Europe’s oldest established classic jazz band, the Dutch Swing College Band.
More than 79 years ago when the Nazis imprisoned people caught listening to jazz music, some enthusiastic youngsters avoided the firing squad by practising secretly in the cellars of The Hague. They were dedicated to forming a school for jazz music after WW2, thus the Dutch Swing College was formed.
Its members gave lectures, organised meetings and taught jazz music, leading to the professional launch of the Dutch Swing College Band in 1960. Since then it’s won a host of international prizes, recorded over 500 albums and remains the longest established performing classic jazz band in the world.
The band continues to thrill capacity audiences wherever it performs, and their worldwide concert tours show that the Dutch Swing College Band is still one of Holland’s greatest exports and is a leader in European Jazz History.
Today the Dutch Swing College Band is alive and kickin’.

Amazing! I recently discovered a UA-cam channel called "De GrammofoonPlaten Bar," which features a playlist of classic Dutch songs. While exploring, I came across a track by the Dutch Swing College Band-my father's all-time favorite band! I learned that you’re still touring and was encouraged to find you on Facebook. That’s also how I stumbled upon this tune. I’ve also discovered that the Dutch Swing College Band has its own UA-cam channel! I am so excited

@ de dsc is momenteel in topvorm ,de muziek die zij spelen is de Nederlandse manier van traditionele jazzmuziek dat een muziek soort is dat de Nederlandse manier van Amerikaanse traditionee jazzmuziek de hoogststaande manier van musiceren ook tov klassieke muziek . Maar de mensen die uitmaken wat voor een muziek wij dagelijks horen zijn amuzikaal ,er snel dagelijks Nederlandse jazzmuziek van de dsc te horen zijn.

Dsc is het beste orkest van Nederland ook poporkesten of bigband of klassieke orkesten geen enkel orkest komt in de buurt . Dixieland is de meest hoogstaande muziek de conservatoria begrijpen dat niet

Kees Jan de beste trompetter van de dsc ooit. Keesjan en Bert moeten altijd bij elkaar bijven, muzikaal nog dichter bij elkaar in collectieven ritmisch naar Dick luisteren
Trombone heeft In collectieven ook een ritme functie

Als vanouds prachtige sound met Frits die de maat er in houdt aan de drums....de bassist als een bankier die verdwaald is op de stage, de banjoist unverfroren het akkoorden schema blijft spelen en voortreffelijk blaaswerk van trombone, trompet en klarinet. Bob Wielenga
