    Great video, brother. Good step-by-step, with good editing to keep the pace. That looked like one dry old hunk of antler. Good job working with it. Oiling it really brought the life back to it. As for the tree, just going by what grows in my area, it kinda looks like poplar. Have a great evening!

      Thank you, I appreciate it. Yeah it was pretty dried out. Oil can work wonders to bring life back to antler, bone, wood and leather. You'd be surprised. Appreciate the input. Thank you for watching.

    What sand paper did use for the blade cause mines like that

    • @_DlME
      @_DlME 14 днів тому

      I usually use 150 or 220(I get mine from harbor freight) first with either wd40 or rem oil to spray the blade as I sand. I recently restored a much worse condition machete on a full length video on my channel. Check it out. Thanks for the comment

    • @_DlME

      It's an edge mark, also known as an edge brand. They were a popular brand out of Solingen, Germany. They were super popular in the 70s-80s in the US. Lots of different companies produced knives using similar or exact designs/patterns. The newest video on my channel shows a different model under the name edge brand. I made a factory style sheath for it. Thank you for your comment. Cheers

      This machete was a friend's that was in the bed of their truck for a while. But my other projects have all been old tools that were my grandpa's, great grandpa's and great great grandpa's mostly. But flea markets, antique stores, garage sales, Facebook marketplace and eBay are all good places to look also.

      Thank you for the view and comment I will strive to do better in the titling of my videos moving forward. Also the Oxford definition of "build" is Verb: 1. To construct something by putting together parts or materials. 2. To make stronger or more intense. Noun: 1. The dimensions or proportions of a person's or animals build. 2. The style or form of the construction of something. I am referring to the 2nd of each of these examples in this video and title. I hope this helps understand my reasoning for the title. Appreciate your feedback.

    Thanks for sharing about your Top 5 Fixed Blades, much appreciated. To answer your question at the end, I'd suggest adjusting your volume as I found it very low and I had to turn my headset volume way up in order to hear you.
