The Mirage (Volcano & Tribute)
The Mirage.. Its resort changes ever so gently fitting in with the energy the Las Vegas Strip has to offer while maintaining its theme, elegance, and luxury fitted with natural features and gestures laid throughout the resort.
Back in November of 1989, Steve Wynn opened The Mirage and became the first mega-resort on the Vegas Strip. Opening this resort also had its risks as most people thought it wouldn’t be successful. For only a short 6 months after the day it opened its doors, that skeptical outlook changed Vegas tycoons' mindset and followed along with the idea. Mr Wynn then followed up with the Treasure Island neighboring its successful resort. Bellagio followed shortly after shaping the heart of mega-resorts and attractions with the fountains out in front. Of course, Mr Wynn wasn’t done with the idea as other properties such as Caesars Entertainment decided to compete by opening mega-resorts of their own.
We thank Steve Wynn for opening The Mirage nearly 35 years ago and starting a new era on the Las Vegas Strip. The Hard Rock purchased The Mirage from MGM Resorts International and has plans to replace the “Mirage” in front of the resort with a guitar; reshaping the outlook of the Las Vegas Strip once again.
“Con Te Partiró” or “Time To Say Goodbye” wasnt added intentionally for humor, but rather to pay tribute to its fellow neighbor leaving after 34 years.
The Mirage Resort and Casino officially closed its doors on July 17th, 2024 at 11:00 AM.

Getting back to our room after watching the Raiders-Packers MNF game at Allegiant Stadium (yes we walked all the way), I could only get a quick look at the fountains and this was the song that was playing at that moment.

The flashing at the end was entirely unnecessary. My eyes hurt just watching it. I did love the build up at the beginning though how the spouts shot higher as the music got louder and more epic.
So what’s going with the fountains? Lately the extremes have been offline :(… the north ring super shooters have been low while the inner ring goes to its highest power. Is something going on? (Fear is they’re under long term maintenance
I don't know what's happening. Also, to add on the number of broken lights on the arc. Still hopeful a bit since the oarsmens are in tip-top shape, just concerned about the rest of the "crew".
