      It is a RZR seat if you are asking about the seat in my Odyssey. We sell a seat pan conversion to adapt one. It makes a huge difference in the comfort level of the ride. If you are over 6ft, it may not be a great option because of leg width but the difference in comfort is night and day. oddballorv.com/fl350-rzr-seat-pan-stainless-16-gauge-1.html

      Thanks! Yeah, the Overlay is a pretty neat feature to add in. Sadly, GoPro removed GPS from their cameras starting with GoPro 12. I use GoPro 10 and as long as they are working, I'll be able to add the overlay. No, sadly my trips for the year are mostly done save for a one day trip to Pismo this Saturday. As much as I would love to be traveling and riding more, family life has it's obligations that come first. There will be a 2025 Odyssey Rally and it looks like we will likely be headed back to Sand Hollow again. We have space for 12 vehicles if we manage to get the same group site so we hope to add at least a few more folks next year.

Everyone will nod in understanding and treat you like one of the crowd :) All kidding aside, if your interested in going, just let me know. Priority is for Odyssey folks first but if we have empty space at the campsite no reason we can't fill it and the Power Wheels build. It is rarer than an Odyssey so I think would be met with interest.

    So what is the difference actually Why is the black one faster ?

    • @OddballORV
      @OddballORV Місяць тому

      The black one has a 250cc motor and is significantly lighter at around 400lbs, maybe a little less compared to the red one which has a 350cc motor and is around 600lbs. The motor on the black one is a special build with higher compression while the red one the build is stock compression. Also, the red one the carb and pipe where not tuned very well to each other. These differences where enough to give the win to the black one even though it has the smaller motor.

    I'm on 4:13 and as soon as you brought up the black 2 things they give you for a table and mention how slick the crossway channel is. I stopped it and right away totally "agree" . What were they thinkin. I just put the 20 ton together this morning, and I thought how are these going to stay on there. so slippery. I had to take 2 clamps away from my C-clamp inventory and leave them 1 on each piece. They so easily could of just made them with some 1/4" or less holes in a few spots to line up with holes matching in the sideways channel a person could drop in some hold it pins

    • @janbill79
      @janbill79 Місяць тому

      and now I stopped it on 5:50 I didn't have a 2 piece handle but there was to attached piece to hold the handle when not in use. so under, or rather on each side of the 20 ton decal on top there. I had to cut 2 pieces of angle about and 3/4" long and grind the edges off & weld at least 1 side on each to the channel bottom lip. that works slick . can't miss the handle now. And mentioning grinding / I wonder if your going to cover this? 4 edge's of the channel had to be rounded off, the back ones behind it can stay pointy & sharp. I don't care about the ones behind, as mine is against the wall lined up by my welder .

    It's a roller fairlead. And the the bracket is offset is so it aligns with the spool. Designed to hang over a bumper, not sit on a flat surface. I use one of these to haul a storage platform up and down in my garage.

    • @OddballORV

      Agreed but all it took to make this work properly to sit flat was drilling out the holes a little, a step that though not difficult, wouldn't be necessary if HF had considered using the winch on a trailer deck which is not uncommon.

    When you bolt the winch to the mounting plate the bolt heads will be sticking down below the plate so unless you go all the way through the trailer deck with the same bolts (which isn't the way the mount is designed to work - the bracket is there to distribute the load to whatever you're attaching the winch to) the plate won't sit flush on a flat surface anyway. Bolt the winch and fairlead to the bracket as it's designed then just put spacers under the plate when you bolt it down to the trailer deck.

If I'm attaching this to a trailer I'm not going to bolt the winch to the plate and have bolt heads resting between the plate and the trailer deck. I'm going to get longer bolts and through bolt everything to the underside of the trailer. I understand and agree that my application to a trailer deck is not the most prevalent application for this product but I don't think it is uncommon either. I should also reemphasize that the product itself works great and I'm perfectly happy with it. The purpose of doing this type of video is to A let other potential buyers know of this issue in case they have a similar application and B if the video gets enough attention then perhaps HF might see it and make a very minor change to address the issue.

    The winch is not made for your application, it is for mounting on the vehicle and rollers centered on reel take up area. Think it out completely before claiming the manufacturer wrong.

    • @OddballORV
      @OddballORV 2 місяці тому

      Perhaps but what is the purpose of the plate and the mounting holes on it and why not go one step further and make sure it could work on a trailer application which although not as likely, is not uncommon.

      Off-road winches are typically mounted on bumpers. If you want to mount it on a flatbed, like a tow truck, you're going to use a different solution than an off-roader would.

      You are a broken spring away from it falling out and on your foot. Considering how much the spring is stretched in use, a broken spring is not unlikely. HF actually did make a change on future versions and added a bolt for this. Having a bottle jack drop on your foot from four feet is enough to do some damage if it ever worked. Unlikely, yes but impossible? Absolutely not especially in the volumes that HF probably sells these at.

    I wish you all the best with the repo plastics I've got a pilot in aus and I feel like as with the original plastics, postage will be the biggest issue for me but more options the better Just be very careful if your dealing with a 3rd partys doing the molds, I've seen it evertime where you foot the production bill, the 3rd party will then make a huge extra run if not 2 sets of jigs/molds and undercut anything you were planning to do Contracts or verbal agreements will mean nothing

      Thanks, we try to help our Australia friends out as much as possible on shipping but it's almost always insanely expensive unfortunately. As far as production, we are not doing anything overseas. These will be high quality American made fenders. I like to keep production in the US for many reasons and knowing I have control over my product line is one of the top reasons.

    Love what you are doing for the rejuvenation of the old honda's. I wonder if there could be a spreadsheet of owners and what they need, that way those buying a whole body kit can see oh this other guy doesnt want a whole kit but needs a left rear or something so they can connect the dots making 2 pilots whole with each body kit sold.

    • @canadianoddy8504
      @canadianoddy8504 2 місяці тому

      Highly unlikely that Honda (even knew where these molds were stored) would even sell them. It's Honda production tooling so NO WAY would they sell it. I say this because I actually sent an e-mail to showa shocks to see if I could get my hands on those custom seals. I did get a reply but they said that the product was made for Honda and they own it so I would have to contact them. I didn't bother sending an e-mail to Honda. A very similar situation and reply happened when I tried to get my hands on some liquid cooled heads. I sent an e-mail to the casting company that made them and they told me the same thing as Showa said, word for word. Even though the original owner/maker of those heads was dead they wouldn't sell any blanks to me. CO

      I was surprised to find out that there actually was a second run of Pilot plastics in the 2000s time frame (not sure exactly what year it was). A bunch of enthusiasts some how had the right connections to ask the right questions to get another run made (some of the old timers could chime in with better details). My understanding is that in the process of this second run, one of the molds for the rear fenders was damaged to the point where it was no longer usable. I do not know whether the molds where disposed or not after this incident. Even so, the problem with the plastics is the complexity of them. If we proceed with our plan, we hope to have something that will be more robust with the mounting and less fragile during impacts.

      @@OddballORV Lee was our contact at the time and we were only able to do the front and rear fenders. The side panel, hood and roof molds there was not enough interest in. The mold for the rear wasn't damaged but the fender came out weaker at the corner away from the body of the pilot. Lee no longer works for service Honda and the last we heard back when Andy's pilot site was open is that Honda would be scraping the molds or sending them to Japan. This came from Lee's friend Amber, who also worked at Honda.

      @@OddballORV Interesting that you commented on "If we proceed with our plan, we hope to have something that will be more robust with the mounting and less fragile during impacts." When I used to race sports cars there was a company in the USA that was building C sports racers and the body was plastic and didn't break or shatter. I saw contact once and NOTHING happened to the bodywork. In the early days it would look like an explosion as the bodywork denigrated. I talked to the owner of the car but I don't remember the details of that bodywork. CO
