Information about ruckus disc brake conversion
Please note I referred to axle spacers as shims , so disregard that and know you'll need spacers and shims/ washers to install the stuff

Im doing something similar, with a metropolitan frame and rukus rear end i got off ebay for $50. 171cc amazon cylinder "black friday special" , the donor case had the cam chain jump off the crank and wedged itself so its got to be split regardless. 12 pole DC stator, N02C Speeduino EFI kit and Honda CBR150 throttlebody clone china-express. Im going for a stock wheelbase dual rear shock with 13 inch 150 gy6 scooter wheels. I have a spare triple tree that im gonna grind the weld off and knock the steertube out and see if a GY6 tree will fit, just worried about it interfering with the battery / front cover box or find a cheap used rukus tree assembly and weld some caliper mount on shock for the disc. Love to see how this goes and on a budget. I subbed to stay updated on progress be safe have fun!
Great work!🎉
Would stroking it do with that bbk?
Make the video of the wire harness complete build
I needed this
I do appreciate the video first off. I want to ask you how to get this harness to fit. I don't feel like my Ignition is at the right spot. I dont know if I got the voltage Regulator in the right spot? Also i Got a new stater as well as a new everything in between. But I can't get the fly with off of it. I've greyed every thing I know of to get out off. Some advice would be awesome
I currently have my universal chinese 150 cc woring harness on the floor in the living room trying to figure this mess out again. 2017 amstar explore 150 cc scooter. Bought with known charging issues don't know how to fix , ran great needed charging every three days finallly after a month of rhat the rectifier blew audibly and killed the new battery.
Glad your s worked I ordered a Mercedes starter 150 on there worked out great I ordered a 50 dollar starter for a ford ranger pit on and it went bad immediately o well
How much is the mount
I’m trying to minimize my controls on my Honda ruckus I’m using a maddog wire harness do you know the wiring diagram or away to wire up off bike first
Hello my name is Brian and I want to thank you for your video it's been really helpful but there's only one thing I have not been able to find the GY6 harness that you've got on your video with the multi connectors for The handlebar dash and I was hoping you could help me out trying to find one you call it the VIP
@brianhellems3911 man just Google replacement harnesse for your make and model I normally buy off ebay ,cheap less than $50 usually
On my headlight block, i have thr blue and white wires as well as well as the green. The bike does have running lights which i assume is the pink and green wire i have, but mynissue is both go to ground?!
How did you get this to work
It had a couple of bad resistors in it , but these are notorious for getting corrosion where the harness plugs into the cluster, so you might try wiggling that plug to see if you can get anything
@@kennethawhalen1117 All I’m getting is the brake light and the check engine light nothing else comes on could I mail mine to you and you fix it ??
This is happening to my 50cc scooter. I'm wondering if all gy6cc engines take the same part. Can't find no info
Man, you are the man, I mean it. You've solved more problems for me than quitting drinking has . Thanks a shitload.
my god. if you are correct about the colors. this is a MONUMENTAL UA-cam video. bro is cooking!
Best video on here
Kenneth thank you once again for helping me understand and solve a electrical system problem I was getting frustrated with a bike that belongs to a friend and she had already had two other people fail to solve the situation and she was getting to the point where she no longer trusted anyone that said they could fix the problem with no problem this was a problem because I knew going in that I was going into an already bad situation and if I didn't fix this bike she would ultimately label me as one of those people that say anything and no nothing just to try and make some money off her helpless situation but thanks to u everything went smoothly and I could find the correct solution to make this bike work without cutting or guessing like some uneducated people have done to this bike in the past that is the last thing this woman needed was to be told she could trust me and count on me to completely make this the winning decision this time and she would forget all the trouble she had from the other attempts and with full confidence recomend me to others who have or having trouble finding a trustworthy bike mechanic to work on there machines and with the use of your knowledge and easy explanation of the gy6 electrical system this became extremely easier and faster with 100% success so thank you Kenneth you're tha best!
Please if you do have any information I've had this chow chow quantum for a couple years now and I just bought a mad dog from some guy off the marketplace and brother it is a death trap
So would this work if I was trying to get rid of the fat tire on the back of a mad dog and put the skinny tire from my TaoTao quantum
@billerickson806 you should be able to remove the fatty wheel and hub and bolt on any scooter wheel you want , if it has the short axle great if you got the long axle you can change it or use spacers under the nut a 3inch spacer just so the wheel will tighten down
No it's really really bogging down won't even go 5 mph@@kennethawhalen1117
I took the axle out of a TaoTao quantum 150 and the swingarm
My wiring harness isa mess I like how u explain ever wire I hope I can figure it out I fried some of the wires in the wiring harness so I just take it all apart

Hey man,ive got a 2021 vip 50cc.i just put a glixal big bore kit on it, now it doesn't want to start, valve lash is 4 thousand intake and 5 thousand exhaust, its started a couple times and sounds great but then I have to fight for a hour to get it started again, any ideas?
@@MatthewJackson-is8ey what cdi are you running
@MatthewJackson-is8ey if it's anything other than stock put the stock cdi back on and try it also with more compression you might try a larger ground from the battery to the eng itself

Hey I'm trying to wire up A110CC Is China quad My wiring harness has a yellow with a white stripe and a blackWire together in a double plug I'm wondering where that goes

Actually The Controls On The Starter Switch Side Are Both Kill Switch Wires And Not Headlight wires
@wolfjay1343 yes I've seen those to but this pretains to about 80% of the shit out there with a few acceptions
A BIG thanks, neighbor got a old scooter (no key, of course) and missing parts etc. I had to fix the battery cable and jump the ignition switch wiring and the start button was broken but looking at a wiring diagram and what I learned here I got it to crank and run without having to butcher the factory wiring. Now all it takes is money. I keep telling him it's not worth it but it's his money. Surprisingly, it appears to have a good battery after charging it up.
I need some help
How can I tell if my scooter has a big bore kit
Measure the bore size , or across the top of the piston
@@kennethawhalen1117 is there a way to tell without taking the piston head off
You did not mention the switch that has nothing but a single wire looped in to its own switch. Also I have an a/c cdi like you explained in detail but I also have a kymco which is a d/c cdi and it seems like the ignition and a few other things are different
Correct that's ac cdi and harness guess I should clarify that about 95% of scooters that run through here are the same occasionally very rarely do I fool with the other normally like you say a kymco or another tiawan bike not Chinese
What wires are jumped or looped in that connector, the previous owner had a remote start unit I’m trying to remove
@natemendoza7800 I'm sorry I been extremely busy the jumped wire is normally the kill wire
I have a question for you. I have 150 cc Chinese. when I pull the brake to start the scooter digital screen reboots and start switch is not working. When brake is pulled no brake light comes on and my horn also is not working. It seems that brake switch and thereafter there is a short. When I short the starter relay it turns. What do you believe I have the problem of.
I got a lance 149cc scooter...Im In need of alot of help I recently got a gy6 scooter the wire was completely everywhere in it the light were all hot wire on with a radio harness which made it more confusing I watch it video only problem for me is I need a complete break down from bare wire I want to redo the whole wire harness from Bak to front from battery to to lights can u help me pls
You can go on ebay and buy a brand new complete 150cc harness for less than $50 the one I use are like $30 If it is cut up and a bunch of shit added to it I would personally order a new harness unless you're in a country where parts arnt readily available
Ordering new harness is not optional I have the whole harness it's complete I jus wanted to start a whole good loôking wiring where it doesn't look all shitty....I can show u some pic of the scooter tht way u can walk me thru the wiring process
Hello my name is Steven Harris I have a iceberg ruckus 2021 50cc I have a 1:50 CC harness the same one that you have on the and I'm having trouble could you help me I will send you pictures if necessary please?
Where does the black and yellow striped coil coil wire connect up to I can't find a video about it. I have everything else ran correctly but my coil wire. Harness won't get spark from spark plug.
Normally the yellow with blk strip coil wire runs from the cdi out to the coil and splits off in the harness to the front of the bike to run a tach
Make sure your pick up wire is hooked up correctly from the stator its either red with white strip or blue with white strip that the signal wire for the cdi to run the coil
There is a black and yellow stripe wire in the middle of the wire harness that has a connector clamp on it but nowhere for it to go. So I was wondering if that wire was suppose to to be attached to the frame or ground. Not sure.
@@itsus4xThat Connector Clamp Attaches To The Ignition Coil It Should Have A Male Connector Piece Attached To It. For The Ignition Coil To Work It Needs To Have The Yellow And Black Wire Attached As Well As A Ground Wire There Are Two Types Of Coils That I Know Of One Has Two Holes On Each Side To Mount To The Frame And A Male Connector Slot Attached For The Yellow And Black Wire And The Ground Cable Goes On Either Side Of The Holes And A Bolt Holds It In Place And Grounds Out The Coil, The Other Has Two Male Connector Slots For Both The Green Ground And Yellow & Black Connector And Both Of Those Would Have A Female Connector End Also It Has A Hole Slot To Mount It To The Frame
Brilliant! Thanks for that, never found much info on my GY6 wiring. Less people seem to want to work on them in the UK or know much about them. Even for tuning kits it's mostly Stateside for the good stuff that's been tried and tested. Thanks again Kenneth.
I want to run dc power from the light controls on the handle bars so I can run led head lights and turn signals what’s your suggestion
What make and model is your bike
Does it still have everything in the stock form
@@kennethawhalen1117 it’s a pony I was thinking I would just find the wire that’s supplies ac voltage to the switch and change it to dc
Trying to fix up one of these for my 2 sons… the bore on the head measures 57.3mm and the case opening is 61.5mm (measured both with caliper). Couple of questions, with 61.5 case opening is there any leeway to swap in a larger head without boring the case out more? If not, and I have to go back with the same size piston. (57.3) Online I’m seeing 57mm and 57.4mm? which one of the sizes would mine translate. Probably stupid questions but just asking. Been crunching all this info because these GY6’s are new to me. This is an older model though, 157FM is the model. Any info would definitely help. Good video too, I learned something but have a feeling with that slim oil port spacing your video is giving me confidence I don’t necessarily need. Lol👍
57.4 is stock , I'm not sure on the 157fm but on a qmj157 a 58.5mm mm bbk will fit with no boring it's only mm in difference but it dies help , especially using the stock head the eng will have more compression, I'm just not familiar with 157fm
man, thanks for the reply, that does help. This engine has to be from the early 00’s… from my research anyway. It was out of an old twister kart. As it is there’s only 1.5-2mm between the casing opening and the oil port so I’m prob just going to leave it alone. I may jump to the 58.5 head, idk. But thinking I’ll just save the $$ for the next one. At least now I know a bit more of what I’m getting into with these. They sure are fun to work on though! Thanks again for the info and video👍
Single cut burr bits is what I use for cutting and double cut for fine tuning it I also buy them from Ali
Hey, new friend! I wonder if you have a video showing how to remove these engines from frames. From your videos, I gathered up enough courage to buy the 170cc upgrade kit. But unfortunately, the engine is still bolted to a buggy. Love the background music! Sounds like Lynyrd Skynyrd, free bird!
Super cool, Ive never seen paint like that. Looks like a mighty fine job on your part sir!
You Want Smaller Head To Jug If You Want Higher Compression Is The Secret Ive Learned Using A 60mm Head With A 61mm Piston It Drives The Air/Fuel Burn With Better Fire More Compressed Anyway I Know You Know Exactly What Your Doing So I Just Wonder If What I Learned From Several Pretty Reliable Sources If Its The Case Or Not As Im Wanting To Try It Myself
You're are correct , it's just how it was offered in the kit form i put it together with 60mm headgasket if it doesn't run right I'll put a stock head on it
They were out of what I normally buy I normally use a 58.5 piston and jug then the stock head
