    I need a t con board for this exact model, do y’all have it?

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday День тому

      We do have these parts in stock. There are three different t-con boards that can go into this unit. I would open the back of your TV and get the part number off of the t-con board. The t-con boards that I am seeing for this unit are: BN95-00964A BN96-28932A BN96-27233A These are the part numbers that I would be looking for. There is a chance that you have a different t-con from these three, so if you need help narrowing it down, give us a call at: (930) 212-1975.

      I would try the flashlight test first to narrow down which board to swap. flashlight test video: ua-cam.com/video/HyEdbufQuN/v-deo.html Also, try to see if the backlights are coming on when you power the TV up. You can usually see a slight glow coming from the TV when the backlights are coming on.

      @ thank you for your response First off, the video you sent me does not work It just says "video unavailable" when I click on that link Next off, I just want to make sure you are aware I am talking about an OLED TV, so if you are talking about the flashlight test (where you are checking to see if elements are still on the TV) you know better than anyone that this only works with backlit LED TVs, right? Again, I only want to make sure I am getting the correct information here. Can you send me a different video that works and/or confirm with me that this flashlight test you speak of works with OLED TVs as well? And if so, perhaps you could elaborate what it is exactly I need to do to perform this flash test since the video you shared doesn't work

      No, you are 100% correct, the flashlight test will NOT work with an OLED TV. That is my error. I was not being careful when I responded. I'll look into that broken link as well. If the standby light is coming on when you power up the TV, then we can assume that the power supply is at least providing some power to the unit. I would go with your original assumption that the main board needs to be replaced. There are some issues with the T-con board that can prevent an image being displayed as well. It might be worth it to try that part as well. I do know that with some OLED TVs there can be an issue where a faulty main board can short out the T-con board or vice versa. If you wanted to be extra careful, I would replace both at the same time to try and minimize risk to either part.

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday День тому

      No, I would assume that you are talking about the back light inverter board. These are in some units and they are not the same as a main board. The main board will have the HDMI, USB, component, and coax connections on them.

    Wonder if they could help with multi thin lines in the middle of screen of a Sony 65' - Everything else works great.

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday 8 днів тому

      It really depends on the orientation of the lines. If the lines are vertical, then you probably have an issue with the t-con board. If the lines are horizontal, then there is, most likely, an issue with the panel itself and that would need to be replaced.

      A lot of times we will use the status of the TV to diagnose which parts need to be replaced. If you could give me a brief description of the symptoms your TV is having I can help you narrow down the boards we would recommend swapping.

    Hello, If my issue is that the power will not come on the TV at all (there's no light or you don't hear that click when the TV turns on), then is the issue is with the main power board or the sub power board, is that right?

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday 18 днів тому

      That could very well be the case. I would start by swapping the power supply boards and then if that does not work then I would try the main board. Sony units can be tricky to diagnose, but usually, if you can get power back to the unit, then you can use the blink codes to start narrowing down the list of potential issues. Hopefully there are no more issues in your set and the power boards get you back up and running.

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday 26 днів тому

      Unfortunately there are a few different things that could cause this symptom. I know there are some fail-safes that will trigger when Sony sets run into problems. This could be the case with your set. There are some guides for Sony TVs that will narrow down the problem, but they rely on "blink codes" to designate which boards could be the likely culprit. When your set shuts down does the standby light blink in a pattern? (ie. 4 fast blinks and then a pause and then 4 more fast blinks?) If you could tell me what the pattern is (if any), I might be able to narrow down the list of boards that could be causing the issue.

    Thank you. More detailed information than Shop Jimmy video. My e70-e3 may need a replacement main board. I wasn't sure about the disconnection of the wifi antenna wires. Power goes into the board but not out to the t-con.

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday 26 днів тому

      The wi-fi antenna wires are usually thin wires with small gold caps that fit onto the connections on the wi-fi board. These small gold caps can be fragile and can come off of the wires rendering them almost unusable. I would be very gentle with the connections and try to pry them off carefully. If you are not getting power through the main board to the other boards then I would try to swap the main board first.

      I am having some issues finding a list of parts that go into these units. I would always err on the side of caution when swapping out parts into different models of TV. I don't necessarily think there could be damage to your set or the components, but I have questions about the compatibility of the parts. I would always try to match part numbers exactly when doing a board swap.

      @tvpartstoday Місяць тому

      Thanks for the comment maplegecko! In this video we are discussing the issue of "no power" for this Sony unit. In our experience the two most common parts to swap to correct this issue are the power supply board and the main board. In this video we showcase how to remove both of these parts and how to navigate the various clips and connections. While everyone has a different level of expertise when it comes to electronic components and circuit boards, we are focusing on the "uninitiated" DIY repair person. Someone who has little to no experience with circuit boards might not immediately understand what a heat sync or a thermal pad is or what they are used for. I hope this helps to clear up any confusion and I hope you are having a wonderful day!

      I have had some limited luck finding panels and panel accessories at: "encompass.com" , but that is really the only major distributor that carries them. There are some places like eBay that some sellers will have them, but I would be wary of buying from someone that is not very familiar with removing and shipping panels. The fragile nature of panels can cause problems with shipping.

    • @tvpartstoday

      I believe the Wi-Fi board is located at the bottom of the chassis in the same component as the IR sensor (the IR sensor is the part that receives signal from your remote). You can see a group of wires coming from the main board / power supply that connects to the IR sensor. It is a small black plastic piece at the bottom of the chassis with the power button on it.

The best advice is still "slow and steady". Take your time and try not to force anything.

    Ok, this video is not my issue, but I couldn't find one. Water got spilled down a spot on the top of one side. I immediately unplugged it and let it set for a few days and turned it back on. It surprisingly worked perfectly. About 3 days later, I turned it on, and the picture came on with a white stripe in about the same place as where the water was spilled. Then the screen went gray and kept the white stripe. It will consistently turn on like that now. It plays sound, and TV will come on to home screen with white stripe and turn a bright light gray. Is there a chance it could be fixed with a new board?

    • @tvpartstoday

      My first thought was that there could be an issue with the t-con board or the main board, but there could be some damage or a shorted component in the panel itself. If you could send an e-mail to: " info@TVpartsToday.com " with your TV model number, a brief description of the circumstances that led to the damage and a short video of the TV starting up and then the screen fading to the light grey color, we can get a better idea of what is happening in your set.

The two most common boards that can be replaced to fix this issue are the power supply board and the main board. In this video we showcase how to remove these boards and in turn how to put them back in (following the instructions in reverse). If you have any questions about the TV set or have any questions about troubleshooting issues you can ask us here or give us a call into our office at: (930) 212-1975 Have a great day!

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday 2 місяці тому

      That's a head scratcher. First, I would check to make sure the audio is set to come out of the TV and not an external source. If that is set up correctly, I would try plugging in an external sound source (stereo or bluetooth speaker) to see if there is an audio issue with both of the main boards (I would assume this is unlikely). Lastly, I would take a look at the wires going to the speakers to make sure that it is not crimped or damaged in some way.

      It sounds like a t-con or a main board issue. There are a few "universal remote" apps for smart phones that work pretty well with most TV's. I'm not sure if that would be able to navigate to the display settings on your TV, but I would definitely try that first before swapping any boards.

      I know that most smart TVs require you to navigate to the settings menu to do a factory reset. All of the information I found online said the same thing too. There are a few "universal remote" apps for smart phones that can act as a remote for your TV, maybe that could help?

    I have 10 white spots on the screen in various places, what is this symptom, how is it fixed

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday 2 місяці тому

      Usually multiple white spots on a TV screen are an issue with the back lights. There could also be damage to the panel if the TV was dropped or jarred. You could always try to clean and reseat the ribbon cables going to and from the panel in the back of the TV. These are usually connected to the main board or the T-con board, but most likely there is an issue with the back light strips.

    what's the difference between the board and the core

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday 2 місяці тому

      I have only ever heard of the "core" in reference to a "core charge". Sometimes companies will offer this as a kind of trade in for your old part. For example, if you were buying a replacement power supply and the company offered a "core charge" you could send the company the faulty power supply out of your set and then you would receive a discount on the replacement part you were purchasing.

    • @christhompson6010
      @christhompson6010 2 місяці тому

      @@tvpartstoday interesting. so the core is the board itself. so the manufacture in this case sony wants the old board back for me to get the replacement. then they must refurbish that board and put it on sale it sounds like. been playing this out of stock cat and mouse game with the OEM distributor for a board they keep pushing the in stock date back every 2 weeks. frustrating the tech already confirmed a power supply replacement and main board replacement. not sure what direction to go with this. fortunately extended warranty covered the replacement of a new TV. But still have a 4000$ set sitting waiting for a replacement part that may never come. other that that sets in great condition. just went into a boot loop pwr restart and refused the factory reset

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday 2 місяці тому

      You could always try to replace the boards yourself, in this case you already have the new warranty replacement TV, but there are always risks to the TV when changing parts. I know that swapping out a Sony mainboard requires a firmware update. That process requires a thumb drive with a copy of the firmware from Sony's website. Sony does NOT make this easy. It is the only manufacturer, that I know of, where a manual firmware update from an external source is necessary. Also, like any firmware update, if the process is disrupted or not done correctly, you run the risk of bricking the board effectively making it useless. We do have a robust support system for applying the update at home. Our customer service reps are pretty good at walking people through the process. I would try to replace the power supply first if I was going to do a board swap on this TV. Our website has all of our return and warranty policy information and you could also look for that power supply while you are there. Good luck, and feel free to reach out here or give us a call.

    Hey everyone, I have a Samsung NU7100F TV that won't turn on after I tripped the power breaker to change a ceiling light. The TV was working fine before that. I have tried the following troubleshooting steps: * Changed remote * Changed cable * Changed socket * No HDMI connected * No change of color or apparent backlight coming on. * Power cycled (left it disconnected for a day then pressed the power button for 60 seconds before turning it back on) The red standby light is on, but the TV doesn't turn on. The audio aux light comes on when I press the power button on the panel, but then it goes off and the red light comes back on. I'm not sure what is causing this problem. I have tried looking online for solutions, but I haven't found anything that has worked. Trying to narrow down the issue so i can attempt repait. Hello and thanks for demonstrating how to crack it open. I have this exact tv and the picture has all of a sudden began to double and is also flickering or jumping up and down, sound is perfectly fine. It has the latest update. It has been factory reset, so my belief is that it has to be a hardware issue. Is the issue often caused by the circuit board or the ribbon wire? Thanks!

    • @tvpartstoday
      @tvpartstoday 2 місяці тому

      I would suggest opening the back of the TV and re-seating the ribbon cables just to see if that fixes the issue. If that does not solve the problem I would replace the main board. If your set has an "all in one" board like in the video, that would be the part to swap. If you have a few boards in the back then the main board would be your target. It appears that the t-con is integrated onto the main board. If you have any more questions once you get the back off and get a better idea of the layout, please don't hesitate to ask!
