Whittle a Rabbit | Step By Step Tutorial
In this video, I'm going through the step by step process of whittling a rabbit figure out of wood. This one is a slightly bigger and more detailed figure compared to most of what I've done on this channel and therefore it's also more demanding. However, the basic shapes are very easy and beginner-friendly, so you can get a nice rabbit figure even if you decide to leave out some of the finishing details. Hope you enjoy!

This video is a step-by-step tutorial on how to whittle a cute sleeping cat figure out of wood. The project is beginner-friendly but in my opinion, slightly harder than my previous carving tutorials due to the more complicated body position of the cat. Still, this shape is hard to break mid-way, which is definitely a plus for beginners. Hope you enjoy!

    I love your videos, have saved some for future reference. What amazes me is how you use the sak and only the sak 😮 i modified the small blade on one of my saks and am using it successfully, but i don't have a corkscrew on it.

    I really like this one, especially how you did the feathers. I like the idea carving out the texture with little cuts rather than drawing in lines or painting it.

    I like your approach of doing full body iterations to keep proportions consistent. It makes sense. I know from experience when we're beginners we sometimes will focus on one detail for a little too long, which can throw the rest of it out of whack.

    • @TheMakerExperience
      @TheMakerExperience 13 днів тому

      Yeah, and then it's frustrating to redo that nicely finished detail just because it doesn't fit the rest.

    One of the best mods I've made on my Swiss Army knife is to grind the cap lifter to make into a gauge. It works fantastic ! And if your SAK has a saw, it becomes all that you need to carve a spoon ;) It is of course an idea by Felix Immler ua-cam.com/video/GCQHlQCDr6I/v-deo.htmlsi=hSMRp2RWv_aokkLL

    This was my first time watching your tutorial and it is very well done. It looks like you use a regular Swiss army knife as your carving tool. Can you show a video of how you sharpen that knife, so that it cuts as finely as it does?

      To be honest, I don't have much on that and should invest more into honing tools. All I'm using at the moment is a cheap kitchen knife sharpener
