Marcello Cicchini - Diary of a Student Pilot
United States
Приєднався 1 лют 2019
Hi, I'm Marcello Cicchini, I am a pilot.
I fly and I film my flights because I believe it's a remarkable experience that can inspire many people.
I'm a newly certified private pilot (Aprile 2023). I'm passionate about aviation and I love sharing my experiences with others. On my channel, you'll find videos about everything from my flight training to my first solo flights to my adventures flying around the Seattle area.
I'm also a big believer in education, and even though I am not a trainer or CFI, I often talk about what I've learned and what I'm learning as I make more experiences.
So I'll be sharing what stuck with me, here and there, on my journey to become a pilot. I hope you'll join me on my journey as I explore the world of aviation.
I'm always looking for new topics to cover, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. And if you enjoy my videos, please subscribe to my channel and leave a comment. I'd love to hear from you!

Paine Field to Boeing Field: A Cessna 172 Adventure FULL FLIGHT #aviationadventures
The wait was long at Paine Field, the skies holding their shroud just a little too tight, teasing hints of blue through thick, lingering clouds. But eventually, VFR conditions opened like a promise kept, and I lifted N738SE-a reliable Cessna 172-into the clearing air. Heading out over the water, the plane sliced through the crisp, open sky, tracing a line toward the rugged, evergreen-clad east coast of the Olympic Peninsula.
Blake Island appeared below like a green gem set in deep blue, marking my turn across the water. As I approached Boeing Field, I prepared to enter a right base for runway 14L. The touch of the tires on the runway was brief but satisfying-a smooth full stop, a chance to taxi back, and feel the weight of the journey so far.
After a quick turnaround, I took off again, the wheels leaving the ground as effortlessly as they’d arrived. A touch-and-go followed on the same runway, and with a sense of completion settling in, I pointed the nose back toward Paine Field. The return leg felt like a different flight, the journey no longer a challenge to overcome but a memory unfolding as we climbed away from the city, back to where the adventure had started.

FIRST
Great video! Congratulations
Thanks Francisco!
It settled nice and smooth when those ground effects grabbed hold. It was nice to see American Lake from above, my fishing hole actually.
Ground effect holds you in that layer. Agreed!! Amazing
Pretty wild they just allowed you to land on there runnway considering there are several civilian airports in the area and it was not any emergency
They allow low passes, without touching the runway.
That's pretty cool we used to get chased off for running the track or riding our dirt bikes on the other end of the runway back in the day when it was Fort Lewis and McCord and all the tank trails off of military road
@@VOTE.AMERICA that's pretty wild indeed!! I knew it because my friend (the one flying with me here) saw something on facebook about McChord low passes, then I gave McChord tower a call and they confirmed. Amazing feeling there, flying amongst C17s on the tarmac, and there was actually one C17 taking off, as you can see.
They let you do a low approach into a military operation area runway. I would not tolerate that if I was the base commander. Shitty video!
McChord Base invites GA pilots to fly low approaches for tower personnel training. I appreciate your comment, though.
Too much talking. It distracts the student. All my instructors were mostly quiet, calm and let me make my own mistakes within reason and would ask me what i did right or wrong after. You learn faster that way.
I appreciate your opinion! She can't be judged for just a minute video, though. I feel admiration for her as a teacher.
Hi Marcello! I am going to do my IR soon and I am watching all your videos. It's going to give me a head start! Please can you send me or put the link for the checklist so we can check along with you as you preflight. Thanks!
I'm going to find something for you in my videos.
What flight school?
Regal Air in Everett WA
Womanly sounding man
Uncertain of what you mean!
When you focused on a new instrument adjustment it naturally took away focus on flying the airplane. She reminded you of that , couple times. Lol how hi are we supposed to be? 2000 he says. 1600 actual.
Lol... it has a profound meaning, no kidding. We're forced to look inside when the outside references are blocked. Inside is where the real "numbers" are. 😀
Very cool, i couldn't do that. Instructor is so cool.
She's very knowledgeable and patient. I acknowledge that I'm a teacher's challenge sometimes. Lol
I dont get it :(
Emily, my bad. She removed the terrain features, which adds more difficulty to my orientation in flight. I didn't know she did, lol. I wanted to reinstate it, and she (in other words) told me to shut up and fly the airplane. 😉
You don't need to be a pilot!!!! You are more concerned with the camera and other junk than flying the aircraft!!!! I hope you are never in the same airspace as me!!!
Thanks for your contribution JRod!! That was my iPad, actually. My Sentri ADS-B, my plates and navigation aid back up. Not my camera. You actually discover how to bend time-space here!! Camera on... camera coment... If no camera, then no coment... lol
Agreed, basic instrument flight should be tought........but truthfully that's a slippery slop, the knowledge could easily save them but it also could give people a false sense of safety 😢......i used to go out of my way when ifr was possible. Yet others were always pushing the boundaries and a. Few paid with their lives 😢
Thanks for your input!!! I agree with you completely.
Yo what plane is that
C172 with the Garmin g1000
That actually is equipped with a G3X, which is newer than the G1000.

Karen, gracias!!
Happens every time you come down the backside of a loop. If you do it right... So what's your point. The guy went around in a 360? Whoop de do.
Just experiencing the joy of flight, my friend. Each viewer sees their own "point"
Let's waste folks time and money by doing things not in the instrument acs
Appreciate your input. It's not about money, but actually, demonstration of these maneuvers under the hood is most likely to be demonstrated in the checkride.
@@marcellocicchini152 again, not in the acs, so no they won't.
@@blancobreadI enjoy them anyway.
The new ACS rules took effect on May 24th this year. Yes, the practical test includes those maneuvers. @blancobread

I was thinking "Please God, Don't let this be the instructor who smacks his chewing gum constantly..." Thank you.
She isn't!!
try holding your xwind inputs starting as soon as you turn final. very good practice to prepare for the moment of touchdown
Thanks for the advice Chuck!!
I’ve have a new instructor by lunch.
I'm glad you'll do!! I hope he/she is as good as Ashley!
@@marcellocicchini152CFIs are a dime a dozen, I’ll only take the best of the best. This isn’t it but glad you’re happy.
@@BushiestBesver She is, in my experience. Thanks for your comment!
at what point during this landing is your power idle?
When I start flaring
Actually, before it. It depends on how fast I'm coming down.
Buttered... 👌
Thanks 😊!!
Boeing: "You just made the list"
Those will start delivering next year!!
Mountains tend to obscure your view when you fly into them. .
I agree!!!
Nice landing.
Yes, it was😁😍. Thanks!!!
We're just gonna say ground effect over and over.
Critical moment of the flight. I repeat mechanically to be focused. The military in that airport doesn't allow us to ever touch the runway. Only low passes. 🫥
@@marcellocicchini152 pretty cool. That context would be helpful in this video. Safe flying!
They call that traffic I call that turbulence (real)
Turbulence of airplanes? 😀
@@marcellocicchini152 traffic is just added turbulence fr
@@marcellocicchini152 I honestly do not know what I’m saying
Ah, I know what you mean. If you're landing behind a big airplane, you gotta watch out for the wake turbulence they leave behind.
Why cant people spell these days? Plaine?
Thanks for asking... Paine Field is the name of the airportI departed from and went back.
What goes into 6, 2 times, but into 7, 0 times 🧐
3 goes into 6, 2 times: 6÷3=2 3 goes into 7, 0 times: Since we are dealing with whole numbers, 3 does not fit evenly into 7 any number of whole times without exceeding 7. 😎😁
I'm paddling as fast as I can,,,BUT....😅
I had the sensation of being suspended there, not moving forward. Lol
i don't know what I'm supposed to be seeing here. what is "ground effect"?
Glad you asked! Ground effect is the increased lift and reduced drag an aircraft experiences when flying close to the ground. I was flying over the runway at a few feet from it the whole length. I was kinda floating over the runway.
Are you sure its KING COUNTY AP???
Yes, it is!!
Are you able to display the flight path in real time to sync it with your video?
I will, in a more extended version.
Beautiful landing ❤
Yes it was!!! Thanks!
King County Airport ?
Yes exactly! KBLI
