My Bombay is a rescue. We know nothing about her first three years. Another family owned her for three years. She was 6 when I got her. I had no idea she was a Bombay and neither did the other owner but my vet said she’s got a lot of Siamese in her. Her picture was on my phone and when I put my finger on it, information came up saying she was a Bombay cat. So I began to study the Bombay and realized she certainly was. I have had Siamese cats in the past and this cat is so much like the Siamese. She greets everyone at the door, must be in the room with us, and gets very lonely if we leave her alone. If one of us leaves, she cries and cries and carries her mouse around. We have come home many times to see her lying in the middle of the floor with five or six mice around her. She does not like to cuddle or be picked up. She will sit near us, but does not want to sit on us for the most part. She is a biter. When she says no, she will bite and hiss. She plays rough, biting and drawing blood. I often get light bites when I’m petting her because she is saying stop. And if I don’t stop, she hisses. I was disappointed not to get a cat I could cuddle with, but she is a good girl. I have vintage glass all over my house and she does not knock it over. She may climb on the table, but she’s very careful not to bump it. She’s 15 pounds and has the silkiest coat that did not shed for the first six months I owned her. She went through shedding this summer but now she is not shedding at all. And yes, she talks a lot but she’s very quiet about it. She rules the roost. My only issue with this cat is the fact that I can’t pick her up and cuddle with her. But other than that, she is a beautiful, well behaved cat. Kiki has bright green eyes. She is the quintessential Bombay with muscular body and a brick wrapped in silk.

finding a good breeder is the most dificult part of having a Bombay.

I have 2 Bombays they are brothers 6 months old. They are so playful and loving . I love to watch them play they are so active too! I love them their names are Tony and Leo

I got my cat from the pound. The person that brought him in said both his owners died at the same time. He fits all the descriptions of a Bombay. Coolest cat I ever had.

We have a black female.Her fur is shiny and like silk.Her eyes are bigger than a normal cats and they are a yellow gold color.And like you mentioned in the video when you pick her up she feels muscular.She has a black nose,black mouth and black whiskers.When I look at her I can’t help for thinking how beautiful that cat is.

Watching this, I believe my Jaller was a Bombay. He had that silky smooth fur and he was very well-built. I lost him late July and I still miss him every day. He was my best friend.

I'm pretty sure my cat is some moggie mix of bombay. shiny black coat, black nose, black toes, greenish eyes, the whole bit. same thing with the personality. she's my little talkative shadow and never passes up an opportunity for cuddle time. only difference is her coat grows to medium length.

I love how you’re saying they’re the nicest cats…. As this one, takes your toes off and goes for your left hand. lol. They are a persnickety breed. I’ve found that they either like you or they don’t.

I have a black cat that looks almost exactly like yours. I actually had a tuxedo cat that I let sit and look out the security door, and he was always trying to make friends with a stray through the door. I left food out to attract the stray, but she was having no part of my cat or me. One day she showed up with one of her kittens who decided to stick around. I started feeding him and he decided he wanted to come in. He hasn't left since. He's extremely friendly and loves to be held, and gives a lot of love bites. He walks around the house and sings a lot when he's bored. It's a bit annoying in the middle of the night, but he's a great cat. He looks a lot like a panther which I think is cool. The vet even noticed that. I think I know what you mean by the feel of the fur. The only way I can describe my cat's fur is that it feels almost like a soft rug or something instead of hairs.

My Shadow has green eyes. Peridot specifically.

Bombay cat rules! I have a Bombay black cat girl named Micha. She's so wonderful, my everything.

They are very verbal & attached to their Hooman! ❤ I just realized mine is a Bombay, American with the biggest golden/copper eyes that I had not really seen with other black cats 🐈‍⬛. Her coat is silky feeling & I use an undercoat brush every other week. Her nose and paws 🐾 or beans are also all black. She’s large but doesn’t look it because she’s stocky .. & her silky black fur hides her foopa well 😂. She has to be with me as much as possible if not 24/7… she gets in the bed and sleeps like a person would next to me under covers and her precious head on the pillow ❤. She loves to sun ☀️ bathe in her window perch soaking up as much sun and warmth as she can. She is a master at burrowing herself in a pillow or covers like Houdini. It didn’t matter that she is Bombay; I love her 😍 regardless (I’m partial to black cats 🐈‍⬛ because so many are overlooked). But knowing the temperament of a Bombay explained so much of her specific personality and kitty chatter etc… She’s such a blessing to me ❤!!
