My pleasure. I was very excited when I first saw one many years ago, and recently I have found a spot not far from my house where I see them pretty regularly. I have captured many photos and videos, yet I still get excited seeing them. So I wanted to share some of the experience.

That one was my catch, tide was way put so I beached it, I was worried about him climbing down, I went down on the other side, walked across the edge of water to the fish, he passed me the net, I passed it back to him with the fish in it. I had to go back around to get back up. I have the footage on my camera. I plan to make a video of the full footage including the other fish we caught that day.

I think they are beautiful too. And I was also surprised to find out carpenter ants were their main diet. I have read that they make up approximately 60% of their diet. Also the holes they make for foraging aren't round but their nesting holes are round

I think of woody the woodpecker every time I see these. I see them often when I am hiking.

They are awesome to catch; they can hold their ground well when they want to and are extremely powerful when they take off. To get one on this light tackle took some time.
