Grooming an elderly lagotto, wet clip.

I demonstrate a wet clip on Dora my 12 year old lagotto. She has one or two lumps on her skin now and is a bit arthritic so I talk about how to bear these issues in mind when grooming an elderly dog.

I show a diagram of the structure of the dogs nail and then demonstrate the correct angle to clip in order to avoid catching the soft centre of the nail.

V timely. In the pads is also a risk. Just tweezered a whole arrow shaped seed that had buried in the foot. Only 1 mm showing above the skin. If dog keeps licking u need to keep trimming and looking. Can save alot of pain
Thank you, that's really great info. Nasty grass seeds are just awful😢
So you are cutting the eyelashes too? My lagotto’s (Milo’s) eyelashes get so long and I try to avoid cutting them but I think I probably need to start doing so…
What a nice lady, great tips for the older dog, my bichon had warts too, lovely calm dog, thank you, woof woof x
They are so sweet 🫶🫶🫶🐕🐾🫶
🥰
Did you have carpal tunnel surgery?
No, i had to have my wrist reconstructed after riding accident!!
❤so gorgeous. Congratulations
First time i ever heard of this breed; had to Google information
Beautiful dog. Please tell us more about this breed❤
Yes, perhaps in a future video!!
Using a dremel can be really helpful for nervous dogs. As you say, it must be angled in the same way that I describe in the video.
Thank you for that video. My boy Vinnie won't let me clip, so I use a dremel tool. I still angle it and he is much more manageable
Excellent video. Thank you
thank you for so wonderful tips. quilty and in permanentem contact. very good😊
Fantastic guide to help me groom my two Lagotti girls
2:26 - 2:44 best part, sorry
Thank you. That was a great insight!
Why salt water?
Wish we had a groomer as good as u in the USA for this particular breed. It’s very hard to find one as thy cut the lagoon like poodles. And Golden doodles.
I am in Tampa, I can do it.
Hi would u have the website for the belly strap I like the way it looks must be comfortable for him.
Very helpful thank you. I've been grooming for several years now but recently have had many rustic breeds coming in I greatly appreciate your videos
This is very informative. Thank you
This is very informative. Thank you very much 🐾🐶
A bit rough don't you think?
where do you get the padded long lead to keep the lagotto standing?
I like your tutorial :) How about Lagoto's mustache? Do you cut it also?
I think you are supposed to comb it all forward and trim off anything in front of the nose like a teddy bear face :)
Matilda is watching with me and keeping looking for the birds that are cheeping in your video. Great help Louise
It was interesting to see that you have come to the same conclusion as us in regards to which blades to use. It must be said that we use a 55W clipper machine for all the jobs because it saves us and the dog time. Thank for putting the work in, I was going to do the same but as I saw your video, I will send the link to others instead.
Why dont groom head?
best video of head grooming ,well done.
Thank you for this great information. We are picking up a Standard Poodle in a few weeks from her breeder. Could this grooming be applied to a poodle as well?
Very well explained, thanks!
Come massacrare un lagotto, vergognati.
Do you bath and dry the dog before starting all your grooming?
Thank you for making this series. It has been invaluable for the happiness of my Lagotto and me.
you breed them? 🥺 Do you have many litters coming this year, and if so, are you going to be selling any? ☺️
This has been extremely helpful!!!! Thank you and great job! Looking forward to more videos 😊
What clippers are you using Louise? Look heavy duty
Gazza Roo Heinigar cordless, they are professional quality and well worth the money, £300.
Louise Mizen Ferguson Thanks Louise, and the nail clippers?
We just managed to get Roo in for his first puppy clip before lockdown so this is great.
Brilliant Louise. Thankyou
Such a good help, thank you Louise
