I am now 72. A keen gardener (didn't say I was a good one!) and in 2021 moved from 'Cloud 9' which was on 3/4 acre to a 3-acre property yet to be given a name. My biggest challenge on this property are Wallabies treating my plantings as their very own 5* Gourmet Salad Bar.

The Wisteria look awesome!
Amazing as we just wing it re pruning
Lovely!
So very beautiful!!!
Wow, your own wisteria trellis! Reminds me of the annual Kameido Tenjin Shrine Wisteria Festival in Tokyo, Japan
Well done, great looking bouquet of flowers! Are they all from your garden?
Yes, each and every one 😊
Ohh the wallabies are really doing a terrible job there, it must be a constant struggle for you… your garden is still beautiful and lively, and I, hope the plants they got will recover with the power of Spring 🌺🍀
Lovely 🥰
Great arrangement!
Happy Springtime to you. I hope you are doing well. Your property is beautiful.
Hi Greg, apparently noone else thinks so. Not one viewer in over two years 🤔 Hope you are doing well. Ff
@@flowerfairy1950 I’m doing pretty well. I’m still here in Cedar Falls doing what I do! I hope you are doing well.
Spring time in Australia; Fall in SoCal.
These beautiful birds know from experience you only wish them good FF.
Look at his checks so cute
What a visitor! Thanks for sharing.
Meanwhile - I`m heading into autumn and then to winter. Nice to see the other side.
So peaceful FF. I hope you and hubbies are good. We've had a lot going on this year. My heart attack in February with 3 stents put in. My new medication programme. We went on our very first cruise down Greece. Our youngest son Ben got married! Tanya had her gallbladder removed. We put in a toilet and shower upstairs. Life is always very full. We have difficult to us days but most days are good. We are still so thankful for all. Best wishes Tom
Hi Tom, we've had a few issues here too (still ongoing) but we are alive and kicking. You and Tanya are certainly survivors. Best wishes to you both. FF
Ah FF There's nothing else for it. Yes our struggles are mounting but there are so many poor folk who are so much worse off than we are. We had to get Tanya's gallbladder and my carcinoma removed privately. Same with my hip replacement a while back. NHS waiting times are beyond ridiculous.
crazy people
please tell me something about roses. I bought the plant had little soil with it. I removed all soil in water placed plant in amended soil of 40% soil, 20% cocopeat, 20% sand and 30 % compost. The existing leaves have all turned crispy is this normal or plant is dead?
Hello it sounds as if the rose wasn't in good shape or growing mix too rich. I am not an expert but better to wait until rose shows signs of new growth before feeding. Fingers crossed your rose has shown signs of life; they are very tough. I often wait and see and often plants recover. Good luck.
@@flowerfairy1950 NAh its dead. They all turned black. What are your temps when you take cuttings. Mine is 27-35 C. i think wrong temps are the problem.
@@sinn737😢 I have never had luck taking cuttings of roses. I have some which sadly are turning black.😢
That is a lovely sound FF. We have strong winds here today but a bit of rain over night had done the garden good. I hope our summer is not at an end as it is cold for August. I went to Beningbrough Hall two weeks ago to see their latest garden. They only opened it a week before so it is very new. It was a lovely day but not the same without my husband. However I took some video and will make a short video when I get it edited. They are calling it The Mediterranean Garden. Very unusual for North Yorkshire and I will visit it next year , if I still have the car, to see how it is maturing. Hope you are keeping well. Have a great weekend, Warm greetings, Julie🙂🍁🍀
Lovely to have you pop in and I am glad to read you are getting out and about. I am impatient for Spring, though the Narcissus are blooming. As usual the Pollinator Patch has been over planted so goodness knows how it will turn out. I fear the grapevines are dead (caused by the Wallabies ravaging them) if correct, it is going to be an horrendous job to get rid of them and the infrastructure that goes with them. The Wallabies have devastated gardenias too 😭 It is now more than two years since we have had a viewer for the house; difficult to stay positive. Just have to keep going. Potted up a couple of pots with Tiger Lillies. Stay positive Julie and I look forward to your B Hall video. Best Wishes 🧡🌻🐞🦋 FF
Nice! Unpacking plants always feels like Christmas to me!
Me too!
Very lovely view for winter
Birds seem happy. Nice to have a yard with no road noise!
Pretty showy for the Australian winter!
He's looking a wee bit bedraggled in the rain and wind?
He's very old. Poor old chap. I wonder just how old as they can live anywhere from 40 to 80.
wow that is amazing FF. Almost as old as humans then.
Future termite food if it isn’t used or disposed
All wood from the 9 June 2021 storm. We've already burnt over 2-months' worth. 🔥
Lots of wood ducks at the moment getting their nests ready for spring on our farm.
All we have are feral peacocks, the ducks seem better behaved.
Not at all nice FF. I would have thought neighbours would play safe and make sure the wind was not carrying any smoke to close people. We are lucky as it does not happen much at all and farmers are pretty good when putting slurry on their fields if the wind is causing the smell to upset us. Been here 35 years and only had it twice when the win changed. I am not keen on BQs but would never complain as they are not unpleasant. I hope your council can do something about it but might be a long wait until they get around to it.🤔 Lovely weather at last over here so got my summer bedding plants in. We have had stomach rain the slugs and snails are rampant. Veg growers are getting so much damage. ..Buy mine at the super market but I am watching my plants as they like French marigolds and I only got a few this year. Hope you are enjoying late Autumn over there. Warm greetings. 🎉 Julie💕⛅️🦘
So glad you are sounding a little more positive Julie (despite the slugs and snails). We are finding it more difficult to stay positive and are living our days through (metaphorically) gritted teeth. As far as the environment is concerned Australia has a very poor record; particularly in regional areas. Enjoy your summer 🌻🐞🐝 FF 🧡
That`s awful!!
In general Australia is known for its poor environmental record particularly in regional areas where small acreages are often used as dumping grounds with all manner of things 'stored'.
That is just so cool.
awesome
For me it certainly was. Domestic Goddess I am not lol!
Super nice 👍
Thank you 👍and Welcome 😊
Nice 👍 and I am new friend here and I am just subscribed to your channel
It seems strange, you getting ready for winter when we are getting ready for summer.
Lovely boy!
Hello Flower Fairy! Would you describe that rose as yellow or orange? I wanted an orange/peachy rose and was torn between Lady of Shalott and Bring Me Sunshine... In the end I planted Bring Me Sunshine, but it's not flowered yet so I'm still waiting to see if I made the right choice!
Definitely orange (no Peach). Do you know Jude the Obscure? My favourite with a beautiful perfume. Must check out 'Bring me Sunshine' ☀️
@@flowerfairy1950 I just looked up Jude the Obscure and it's lovely - another one for the list! I'll pop a video on my channel with Bring me Sunshine on when it does flower. I've just subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your garden!
@PlasBachGarden Snap! 🙂

Is Hubby getting a bike?
He (76) would like "one more bike" but needs to sell the Alfa Romeo Spider which he has listed but so far no interest (just like the house). No-one is spending.
He certainly can make sure you hear him! He will know who he can rely on for some food and seems to be happy with your garden. He does look old but healthy. Now our weather is getting more like spring after weeks of rain, the birds are emptying my seed feeders as fast as I can fill them. The garden is looking a lot better now nice and dry but the weeds never stop growing so I think that is a job that I will have to tackle again this weekend. Have a lovely weekend FF. Warm greetings, Julie🍀🦘🍂
Hi Julie I am happy that you are sounding more positive. Remember the garden will never be perfect but it and the birds will give you a lot of pleasure and weeding will keep you out of mischief lol! Give yourself time to think before you make any drastic moves. In the meantime, we are finding it very difficult and losing hope that elusive buyer will ever turn up. I will try and take a leaf out of my own book and try to stay positive. Best wishes FF 🧡🌻🐝🐞🍁🍂
Good pair of lungs indeed! Definitely louder then my local Peacocks
Hey come on up guys it's a FF duck and others critters, feeding station! Hurrah! Quack quack!
Haha Thete's usually a morning delegation waiting under the Wisteria Arbour lol!
Are these all females FF? If so where are the males?
@@TomMcClean Haven't a clue on either question Tom
I wonder if I could have handled on one these back in the day FF? Probably not! lol Too big bulky heavy fast. lol
I'm sure you could Tom; the Scouts looked quite well balanced.
The Scout is indeed well balanced but am I?
What a beautiful sight
Thank you and welcome 🧡
No strange creatures or bugs today?
They were off doing other things lol!
BEAUTIFUL. AS ALWAYS🎉.Julie 😮
Hi, now that is one thing I can't grow but I do love to see them in Leeds but I don't think I will be brave enough to drive there on my own this year. I am not feeling that good at times but managing to do the garden other than the lawns. I have a nice chap who comes but the rain we have had for the last 4 or 5 months has really not helped. The chap is having problems getting all his customers grass cut when we get a dry 2 hours. Will go and get some bedding plants soon but I will not need as many as I have taken more cutting of evergreen dwarf shrubs and a perennial that I split and get new ones to fill in gaps. Can't manage to plant too many annuals thar need taking up in autumn so I can't do it any other way. So might have to move if it gets too much. Enjoy your lovely garden. Warm greetings, Julie 🎉
Hi Julie After recent post-Council election I don't blame you for not wantiing to drive into Leeds. IF we ever get out of here (On 14 April 2-year anniversary of our listing I sent text message to Agent to the effect I was surprised the Guinness Book of Records had not been in touch; afterall three tyre kickers in 2 years must be a record!) I have to keep in mind my lack of driving experience and reluctance to actually get into the car to drive. If you end up selling and moving that will be another emotional wrench for you. Meanwhile you will have to join the nomowsummer brigade lol! I recently planted out a Salvia Amistad and a 'Mexican Hat' in what I assumed was the safest spot (George's Bed); both were grown from a cutting and a seed, both didn't survive 'til morning 😥 We soldier on and try to stay positive as you must do too. Take care 🐞🐝🌼🌻💐 FF
Hi again Julie, I was thinking about you saying you may consider moving. Please don't do anything knee-jerk. My friend Eileen (RIP) who lived in the US (ex Ireland) decided to relocate to independent community living not long after her husband passed away and very quickly regretted it. I'm not saying don't do it (do what suits you) but think carefully. Apologies for sticking my nose in. 😊🌻🧡
@flowerfairy1950 DO give advice as I am hopeless at knowing what I want. The thought of moving anywhere make me ill and when I mentioned to one of the family that there is a new retirement home opening in the village about 5 miles away. .I was told "It wouldn't do for you! It is a residential one nice bedroom, sitting room and bathroom. You can't cook or anything like you live now and you have to go to the dinning room for all your meals!! I know I would not settle there but not much choice at my age and my balance is getting worse as I dare not go outside without a walking cane and getting in and out of thevcar with one is not good. I .miss hubby more than I can explain. He always thought I would go first after my back op.4 years age... Just wish I had. Make the most while you have each other. Old and lonely is not nice. I do hope the future soon gets you a buyer for your lovely house and garden but take my advice, get a smaller garden and I am sure yo will do wonders with it as I know you can. Have a great week...I hope to finish my last video of the place we visited in Oct 2022 soon and hope soon I can get on UA-cam more...as I hate using this smart phone to watch the few I manage to have time for. Warmest greetings,Julie 🌝🐦👍
@@chaldon2viewJ84M Oh Julie I don't know your age etc but I shudder at a Retirement Village. Apart from anything else (cost to buy in etc) I think they would make you feel old faster than you need to and goodness knows what food would be served. Also if you feel ill at the thought of moving....don't! Stay independent as long as you can. My friend Eileen made a terrible mistake. She did investigate getting out but the exit fees were prohibitive. She also contemplated moving State to be closer to her daughter but then they moved and if she had relocated she would gave been stuck without her friends she would have left behind.. She also thought of returning to Ireland but that didn't work out. It is such a terrible predicament to be faced with but don't be bullied into a decision. Are there any home care help packages available? I have to say the future is a bit terrifying. There are just the two of us with no back up or support here but that was our decision so we will just have to deal with whatever comes. Julie please try and stay positive and I am sure you will work it out and do what's best. 💖💕😍
