great job on another Pioneer. You seem to have a great deal of experience on these. I myself picked up a SX-450 that is DOA and can't wait to dive into it. I appreciate how you make doing this look and feel as fun as it can be. My Pioneer doesn't smell as good (LOL). In fact, I can see a lot of leaking caps so re-cap in the future. This is the 1st video I've watched of yours. Nice work flow of using the basic tests so the obvious culprits are tested first. Great job. I love your approach and in effort offer some advice for safety and ease of your future video repairs, A) Have you created a Dim Bulb setup to help protect your Mains line from large current draws due to shorted internal components? If not, I think we all could highly recommend that to you. B) Or, do you have an Isolation Transformer in your Mains circuit? C) Instead of using a Towel, consider obtaining some of the Silicon mats used in Ovens and lay those onto your bench. Can even secure them down if desired. Here's a link to what I made and I think you would find this would safeguard you when hooking up monster power receivers like the Pioneer SX-1280. So late and have work in the morning but oh well my luck i guess. Well I have a amyet eb26 it's not bad but definitely not the best ebike but it works perfectly except when I go to charge it. The led light on the charger turns green, I plug it into the bike and no light indicator like the manual says (not sure if it's saying there is one but from what I keep reading there should be) honestly looking to see how to tell if its my battery or my charger.

I just aquired a SX780 today from marketplace for 250bucks. It is a beautiful piece. Took the bottom off has the original darlington power packs. The face is clean, the cabinet is flawless. Did some vacuuming inside with a clean brush and now it is playing the essential Quincy Jones on my cornwall 1s. Thanks for your video.

I converted a 6 volt system to a 12 volt 52 Chevy pickup I purchased 12 volt gauges and originally the truck called for a 0-30 ohm sending unit the manufacturer does not list what ohm range for the sender will the 0-30 work or is there a way to check the ohm or resistance on the gauge

My QRX 5500A fm reception isn't the greatest. My antenna is a " T bar handle that pulls out, extends, 3-4" away from the body. I see the word " antenna" on the rear, rightmost side of the amp( facing the front) . There's about connect points back there, same type as the speaker wire connects- push spring loaded lever down, revealing the hole into which you insert the bare wire. How should I proceed to get increased fm reception? Thanks.. ps I just got a CHHLIUT that a commenter said he used on his Sansui 5500, but I don't see how this can work on my amp

Here are some observations/questions : 1) I take it when the engine is on tranni fluid is being pumped into the radiator, this is why fluid does not gush out when the drain plug is opened? Turning off the engine allows the fluid in the radiator to drain back into the tranni and 'over fill' it? 2) It is my understanding you DO NOT put it in drive/reverse the first time you run the engine but only the second time? You can also flush a sealed tranni this way : you fill the tranni, then start the car and put it in drive/reverse cycle several times for about five minutes. You then drain and refill the tranni and repeat. Do this two or three times and you get about 95% of the old tranni fluid out of the tranni. Just draining by dropping the pan gets about 1/3 to 1/2 of the fluid. This is expensive way to do it but if you have shifting issues or badly worn or burnt fluid it is worth doing.

Great find! My dad had this same unit (but Discrete was an option on his) in the late 70s, early 80s. He had four JBL L50 "bookshelf" speakers. I was in high school at the time and would cracked it when the house was empty. Police ended coming one time it was so loud. Anyway, hopefully you can find a QS album to try out the quadraphonic decoders. Or if you want to go crazy, see if you can obtain a quadraphonic open reel tape player (and Q4 tapes).
