First, thank you very much for the review. Ive been thinking about these Vic firth cans, but i just bought IEMs for church, with the warranty (because i don't want em to break and not have a backup). So I gotta chill a bit. I also have a big head and don't know how comfortable those will fit on me. They're exactly what I need. I just hope they work for me. And mad respect and props. You have a very positive attitude and convey a LOT of positive energy for someone with a borderline crippling condition (unironically). I gotta respect the hell out of that. And nice chops too. You went Batman free flow on that first demonstration.

If ur on double bass do as u should If ur using single pedal drum Use two feet on the kick drum pedal and play like a double bass no effort

Hey Atom I hope you’re doing well! I wanna say that your videos have been inspiring me for the last couple weeks to practice rudiments for strength with a metronome. Normally I would only play along to random songs on the drums but right now I’m doing the heavy lifting!

A drumdad my age! , fantastic father/son footage. 💚 I play drums and bass, little guitar. My daughter just graduated for her bachelor musicology and now started a master. Talented on her violin. Very proud dad here, we're blessed 😊🙏 It's so important for kids (and the older ones) to really come into music. It's our nature, it makes us feel better and connected. Just keep on playing! Every kitchen or coffeemachine is to be used. And yes, sometimes it's annoys people. Then you know you have to be silent for a while 😬 Namaste to you all brothers and sisters 🙏💚

the only real big problem i see in reviews is that the harware is pretty bad, can you survive with it or should i eventually upgrade it to make everything more stable?

Very important info. Try 3M earmuffs, the 30db reduction models. I wear my IEMs inside the 3M earmuffs. They work great. Maybe also look into an electronic kit? Btw, your drum playing kicks butt!

Well after watching this video I bought this kit and 1 year later what do I think? You can't get better bang for your buck. Had 3 replacement cymbals curtseys of the 3 year warranty and Thonman are super brilliant and quick to replace, and the kick drum is possibly now missing the very occasional note and might need a new sensor. That said I play at least a couple of hours every day and it's taking some hits! Other than that? Oh yer I added a TD-27, Roland digital hi-hat, digital snare/ride, a Pearl hi-hat stand and Peral Demon XR double base, and the kits just amazing. Glad I bought it based on this video.

@drumswithatom Did you ever sort the ride? I’m getting missed notes a lot, and I’m nowhere near your skill level. I’m definitely hitting it, but sometimes nothing gets triggered. Really annoying.

Excellent go at it. It does sound good. Inspired to use some old cheaper (and cracked) cymbals to have a go as well. Basically tweak cymbals until “nice nice”.. Kudos on your rips on the cans too Thanks!

man, I've been playing drums for like 10 months but only once at a week for an hour, but everytime I stop playing my ears get that " piiiiii " sound as you said and for like 30 mins I also hear things kinda muffled, but idk if this is OK or if it's actually damaging my ears bc I only play 1 hour per week

I got tinnitus 9 months ago, first was only in my left ear, high pitched sound that doesn't go away, I've been playing drums for over 20 years and I've always wore protection, ear plugs + the Vic Firth drummer headphones, but I still have mild hearing loss, unfortunately it's getting worse, now it's in both ears and it is very disturbing, I can't play drums anymore, because even with ear plugs and headphones, the loud noise still triggers it a lot
