Your amvs never disappoint!! I especially loved Louis reading the book on marriage at the beginning, "with my eyes" and the changed photographs, "it's always been him and me together" being about how Armand denies the weight Claudia's death still represents to Louis... The part with "the idiot with the painted face" was gut-wrenching. And ofc the contrast between Armand "saving" him and his threatening to kill him. "I bet all i have" with Louis having no choice but to trust Armand about his own deleted memories... I also loved the bit in the Claudia intrumental break with "it's never been about me" right before the "come home and make him happy" scene Incredible work!!

Ohhhhh my god. This blows me away. The fucking layersss you've managed to make this 2 minute video as dense and complex as the whole show. My favorite bit has to be on the first him and me together where daniel is looking at the cleanly torn out pages from Claudia's journal, which allegedly they did together. Armand and Louis superimposed on Claudia's life. There was never a point where she was going to be free of them. "It's always been just Him and me together." Indeed. I need to go lay down in traffic now
i appreciate analytical comments as much as the next guy, but i do find the implications of this one… strange? you seem to be suggesting that louis and armand are equally culpable in harming claudia, when one of them murdered her and the other is a parent and co-victim. this amv is about armand’s abuse of louis. ‘it’s always been just him and me together’ is insidious not because louis ‘chooses’ armand ‘over’ claudia, but because claudia dies (murdered by armand and the coven), and louis spends the next 74 years with a man that refuses to let him grieve her, views his grief as a personal slight against him, and lobotomises him whenever his shame and guilt aren’t useful to armand’s purposes. armand wants to sever louis’ connection to claudia; no matter how hard he tries, he cannot. i don’t really understand how you came to a different conclusion? but i would encourage you to revisit the show with what i’ve said in mind
@heartslobbf sorry I meant that like in the telling of her story the edits, which start with Louis taking out the section with Bruce and then whatever Armand claims that he and Louis took out together (and later stuff that he said he "took out to protect himself" whatever that means) mean that we never get Claudia's full story unimpeded by the both of them, like all we know about her is through the diaries which have been tampered with and Louis and Armands memories of her "however porous they come". Everything we know about her is related through them. This was not to say that they are equally culpable at all, and I don't think that. Armand killed her. Point blank period. The tragedy is that Claudia is dead, she'll never be able to tell us her own story without outside interference. This is as close as she gets.
