Amazing that i found this video. I am new to this. I am getting a trio of galaxy blue tail guppy's. Well... They named then that. They are realy blue galaxy guppy's wit a blue tail and a little bit of yellow before the tail. I want to breed them. I am thinking about putting blue metal dragon females with them. Is this a good idea? I don't know what the childeren will look like. I have photo's of everything and would love some help

blue velvet neocaridina

A fairly new Neocaridna and also new in my tanks, only a few months. This intense yellow Neocaridina brings something different and that in a very postive way. They swim in an aquarium just beside my more common but exellent group of Yellow Neon Stripe. The Yellow Fire still stand out and are stunning, so i have decided to keep both for the long. I got these and my OE Neocaridina from a good friend and exellent breeder, Michael Haesler, truly a legend when it comes to Neocaridina. Particularly the development and creation of the OE. So metal and bandit marks are two different traits?

Well, "Line" breeding is way different from "Strain" breeding and in true is way different from "Gene". Gene breeding is the first step in the line. You "find" the desired Gene you want, color/s, fin size, fin type, and so on. You breed the best male that represents the Gene you want to the best females with that Gene. The second step is to try to strengthen that Gene by taking the best of that set and breeding the best males to the best females. This step is called strain breeding. The last step is to take the best of those males and breed with the prior generation females and do the same with the best females and breed with the previous generation males. This step is called Line breeding. Eventually you will end up getting down to only a couple of males and a lot of females. You will then keep back breeding "line" breeding the females with the last generation males. After a few generations, you will have what is known as a Pure Line or Pure breed.

I look forward to the happy day that i find these on aquabid.

I have some of my own also. Mine glow green when reflected from the light source. So cool. He's still young, so there's more potential to the color to pop more.

Awesome video! Can you tell me where to buy these or how to breed them by mixing which strains? I have multiple swordtails, this one looks like my lyre tail high fin blood red swordtail mixed with some kind of black one?

Really good information! Excited to see this project continue. My personal preference are the guppies with the least amount of yellow and stronger blues.
