Absolutely stunning. Her smooth phrasing, that outstanding breath control plus her outstanding use of her chest voice and of course her beautiful voice. To top it all she is a brilliant actress. This is brava times 100❤❤❤❤.

This is the greatest scene in one of the greatest of all operas. I'm not a vocal expert, but I think Ms. Radvanovsky deserves tremendous credit for her versatility, musicality, and sheer endurance that makes it possible to perform operas such as Norma.

La scena più commovente della Norma! Brava la Radvanovsky! Musica altissima, che commosse anche Wagner, tessendone gli elogi più lusinghieri per il melodramma italiano.

She can improve by learning to not disrupt the pulse to make some musical points. And by singing with audible consonants much more of the time.
Radvanovsky can improve? Seriously? Ha HA! You have to love the internet that it offers anyone with a computer keyboard to volunteer unsolicited vocal coaching & tips to one of the finest singers on the planet!
aside from callas, i think she does the best version i've been able to find on youtube.
DawnFurness the point about consonants is spot on even if the other is dependent on taste. She does tend to slur her words together...

John LaBella It’s a totally realistic comment . Her singing is hollow and constant and often vowelless. It’s all wah wah singing. She sounds like Mimi from Boheme in everything she sings .

La Sra Radvanosky es una increíble....impresionante ...destacadisima INTÉRPRETE de Norma !!!!!...inigualada en este momento ! ....con un canto perfecto y una actuación memorable
While the role of Norma does require a good bit of dramatic outbursts and has several dizzying coloratura passages, it also has *a lot* of lyrical and/or smooth, high & floaty type of singing, as shown in this performance. And that is where Sondra shines brightest, more than any other soprano singing today. No one can match her in this area. For that reason she is the best Norma at the moment IMO.
Which is a sad testament to opera !
@@jenylogan1 , if you meant that as a dig at Sondra, you failed. She is excellent, period, no matter what generation she is in. She is great even when compared with those in the 70s and 80s, as she can do things with her voice that many famous individuals from those decades can't do. So really, what you think about the state of opera today is irrelevant in the context of discussing Sondra's capabilities.
Grandiosa, Radvanovsky! La única verdadera Norma de la actualidad.
