@1:42 Sir that is a Winchester shell not a Hevi-Bismuth
Can't afford them
Very helpful. Thanks!
This helped, thx
i love joseph weimer
This man Is my hero. Good job craig
My new benelli is shooting very well if i can keep my 10 year old grandson away from it
Sporting 28 not Spportsman
You need to put gun wax on it duck hunting as the water beads up and runs off. I prefer a 12ga all day compared to the 28ga for waterfowl. I do like it for Pheasant hunting and with my 1100 28ga I have even bagged a triple on Wild Iowa Pheasants, but I don’t hunt with a 28ga unless I have a dog. When hunting without a dog its back to a 12ga to limit cripples. TC
what choke barrel length???
* I'm not very impressed with the pattern at the 30 or 40 yard mark. Unless I missed something, these patterns will end up crippling a lot of ducks, IMO.
I have to wonder how much duck penetration there would be on long shot
I'n getting wiser (older I mean), so I decided to go for a 20 instead the old 12 I have used all my life. This video just convinced me. I will switch and try an o/u both for clays and pigeons. Unfortunately, we do not have 3 In. where I live but I think the old 2 3/4 can do the job as well. Greetings
The pop is from the powder they use-- Hodgdon Longshot aka OBP-473... It has noticeably more felt recoil than other powders in it's class. It is a great powder though, and plentiful in these dumb times.
I been shooting BOSS shotshells 3in 20ga for two seasons and they plan kill birds from big honkers to teal! My 12ga stays at home now a days!
Love Boss! I just haven't decided which I like best, 5's, 4's, or 3-5's. All do great!
Can't decide between 12ga or 20ga. Just because I never shot a 20ga, with the right choke and ammo, could it handle 40yards? Maybe a some longer passing shoots if needed? Just don't want to limit myself. Any insight would be greatly appreciated
@@ncsmooth22 i never feel under gund because I shoot a 20ga,i use briley light full and full in my over under,i shoot boss 3in. 5's and late season I use the 3/5 combo. Carlson bismuth bone buster in another great choice for a choke for Boss ammo and early teal i use my factory mod and improve mod, , i switched to my 20 for the same reason, just to damn old to take the beating the 12"s dish out and i never looked back!
@Jeff Barris thank you for the reply. Well I am aiming to get the Beretta A400 XP. They both felt great when I shoulder it (12ga & 20ga), but the 20ga felt more natural and like an extra arm..lol. I am definitely using Boss #5 or #3/5 , my buddy shoots them and they are outstanding. Just have enough money to either get the 12ga or 20ga, just want to make sure I'm not limiting myself. Alot of folks say 20ga is great with the right choke and ammo, and some say you have to be a really good shot with the 20ga. Just want to make sure I make the right decision before I spend that type of money. My buddy says go with what your gut says and you can always get better if need to be. I really appreciate the insight and your time. Good luck brother and be safe out there.

You showed Winchester not Hevi Bismuth
I've got the exact same gun and it shoots just like that praise God
Patterned really good. What choke are you running, stock?
Stock
Nice little gun. Need to see some videos with ducks being knocked down.
I think I know you 🧐😂 haha glad I found this bro
Gun wielding dog in the thumb nail
I got a 20 and 12. But not the 28. Maybe I'll acquire. One. Someday,,
Do they still make it?
I will stick with my Remington 887 even though it's not semi auto.
Any updates on the 'Cursion?
All I shoot is a 28ga anymore.
All I shoot is a 28ga anymore.
When some people think 28ga they think not enough gun. There’s plenty of good ballistic videos on UA-cam explaining power factor comparing 12 & 28’s Even shit placement comparisons. Watch a few and you’ll be surprised at how much the 28 is more then capable. I recently purchased a 28 ga O/U for quail hunting I cannot wait to get it out in the field. The only draw back is the price and availability of Ammo.
The 28 will get the job done!! and don't over look the 410!
My Grandpa has killed more ducks,Geese and pheasants with his sxs 410 than I could ever count.
@@jesusisalive3227 don't need too much if you're a dead eye haha
1100 is second to NONE!!!!!!!!!
I started using a 28 ga over under about 15 years ago . It has been my constant go to gun for almost all my bird hunting excursions .
Not a single duck was shot with that 28ga.....
I have a browning bps in a 28ga. It will absolutely knock a squirrel out of a tree at 45 yards! I am shooting a 1 oz load of Winchester #5 shot. I absolutely love this gun. Its lightweight and shoulders fast.
Bps28 is nearly 8lbs. Not light at all lol
Woooooo buddy! Don't tell nobody or the 28 ammo will be GONE!
Is 28 gauge a good choice for duck hunting?!!!
It sure is. Their are some people that only use 28 gauge. Ducks, Geese, Dove, everything.
What kind and where did you get that choke?
What shells do you use when you hunt ducks with it? I’m look to get one soon!!
Hevi-Bismuth and BOSS
I really like the heavy steel #4.
Q bonita arma amigos excelentes🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨💯🤝
Muy chebrecese arma amigos 🇪🇨🇪🇨🇪🇨
What chokes are you using for ducks in the 28
Modified
without lifting or changing the springs you can fit a 315/75 R16 on that excursion. I have a 2000 v10 Limited in white and that's what I did. You have to trim about 2 inches at the back of the front fenders and pull back the wheel well liners to avoid rubbing but it works well. Had my own excursion like that for two years, just put a Superduty lift from BDS on it now it's 8 inches taller and my 35s look tiny. If you eventually lift it anything over 4 inches you end up having to modify the front sway bar link mounts and track bar mount. Also if you use a superduty as opposed to Excursion lift kit for the heavier spring packs the rear shock mounts will have to be modified. On the other hand all that extra clearance has allowed me to step up from 12.5 inch tires to 15.5 inch wide and the flotation difference is welcome and noticeable. Excursions are chunky boys, I live in an area with lots of wetland and rain, you get more flotation from tire width than tire height and going from 12.5 to 15.5 made a lot of difference.
Do you have a podcast?
I just started one. Have recorded several episodes already. It's called American Signature Podcast. Look for it soon!
@@kennethcorder4650 Awsome! I will keep my eye out.
I just picked one up at a pawn shop cheap. It was made in 1968 and runs like a champ, I wanted one for along time but there expensive here in Florida and with Remington out of business there going up in price.
Thats Awesome! Now that they are up and running again can't wait to see what they do next!
Too bad Remington has been taken down. I would have loved this Waterfowl model V3. Too bad so sad.
I can't be the only one here that thinks that the thumbnail looks like a dog holding a shotgun.
That's how good I trained her!
Loving them tires though that’s what I want to get for mine
What size did you go with
295/75
Hey bud nice video I have a 2004 Ford excursion return I just put front and rear leaf springs from an F2 50 online not sure if you’re going to squeeze 295’s on there
Got them on with no rub and zero trimming
I’m not running stock wheels either the tire size I have now is 265 /60/ 20
@@kennethcorder4650 yeah 295s fit no rubbing. If you move up to 315s you can do it but need to trim to avoid rubbing.
love using my dads his is about 30 years old has a skeet barrel. and it looks brand new still, i love using it for skeet, trap and sporting clays
