Painting Baron
Finland
Приєднався 27 вер 2020
This channel is all about miniature painting and hobby. I'm making educational content like tutorials because I want to share my hobby knowledge through videos. I want to explain "why" in addition to showing you how something is done, but in my content I assume you already know some of the terms and techniques. I'd describe the level of my tutorials as "intermediate".
I'm Kalle, a miniature painting enthusiast from Finland. Warhammer specifically has been a part of my life more or less since early teens, and like many others, I had my years out of the hobby, but came back strong in 2017. Painting these plastic toy soldiers has become a really important to me since then.
I'm mostly into Games Workshop titles like Warhammer 40k and Age of Sigmar, and I'm more of hobbyist than a player. However, I do have an Adeptus Mechanicus & Legions of Nagash armies in a playable state.

Painting Snow Bases
I this video, I'll show you my way of tackling snow and winter bases for wargaming. Instead of just stopping at applying a white snow paste, I'll show you how to actually paint it, and explain why you might want to do so.
I'm using this method for my Legions of Nagash Warhammer Age of Sigmar army. It's not too heavy even for bigger model count armies.

Painting Mars-like Bases
Переглядів 8 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I'll share how I painted the mars-like bases for my Adeptus Mechanicus Warhammer 40k army. I listened to the viewer feedback and all the footage is now normal speed and hopefully easier to follow! Let me know what you think in the comments. :) My instagram profile: paintingbaron Background music by Sebastian Kling. UA-cam channel: bit.ly/35c5GjC
Painting and Weathering Grimdark 40k terrain

In this video I will try shed some light on my favorite weathering techniques, and try to explain the reasoning and considerations behind them. The goal here is to present you with potentially new ideas that you can then adopt, or not, into your own workflow. This is my first hobby video, so bear with me. Any feedback is much appreciated! Very special thank you to Sebastian Kling, who offered t...
Tämä tuli tarpeeseen, kiitos.
Nice to see something other than rusty brown with silver dry brush
Looks cool bro 👍
Can you explain me how so could vallejo metal color line for airbrush be shitte in your opinion? I wonder if you could open me on new inventions, in this artistic region. Didn't use metallics for buff yet, although alcohol based like alklad 2(if I recall correctly) are very nice, but create some interactions with solvents, with that enforce some adjustments in processes are needed.
English is not my main language, I hope I gave some understandable questions xD
Vallejo metalica are tragic, but these for airbrush are cheap, very finely grinded, have great coverage and are easy for mixing with other ones.
Just discovered you, this is amazing
helvetin hyvää menoa, käytin tätä reseptiä mun blades of khorneille ja toimii erittäin hyvin! Kiitos!
Another reason for bare-metal chipping is the material of the object that is chipped; a classic example in military modeling is the mistake of chipping an M113 armored personnel carrier with beautifully-done rust stains. Unfortunately, the hull of the M113 is aluminum, which doesn't rust, so the chipped areas would either be bright metal or the whitish color of an oxidized layer on aluminum (which halts further corrosion).
I must learn how you painted the undead models!
Nice!!
thanks very much for sharing this in such detail, I'm excited to try this for myself!
What’s your method for fixing your models to the bases after you have textured? Or was the model less base just an example?
Stunning! Gonna try this out with my Iron Hands. Think the cold will go nice with black marines
Salamanders?
Nice video
This is literally THE BEST "Mars" base, and subsequently basing video I have seen. Thanks you for sharing and thank you for your talent.
Amazing man! Best looking mini snow 👌
What terrain is this? Where can I get it from?
What color did you prime the terrain before starting with the blue? To me it looks like you airbrushed the base coat and maybe the mid tones, but in the video it says you stippled the mid tones. How did you get the blue and yellow to be so smooth?
🤦♂ Da bekommt man ja Augenkrebs. Schade, den aussehen tut es mega.
Wow! Easy subscribe!
Gay porn actor sticker lol
This is my go to. I was saddened to see you didn’t upload many more. Please do more!
My man really made 3 amazing terrain vids then vanished, honestly respect it
A bit on the hazardous side, but if you have a chance to try crushed glass it's a great product for super convincing and variable snow effects!
Nice!
More please.
Great work
Awesome video!
Very well done
Great video man, keep on going.
So far you have the best snow bases I’ve seen on you tube. Been trying to replicate but still no success 😅
Toivottavasti tulee uuttakin matskua! Jestas sentään miten top tier tason kamaa olet tänne ladannut :) Menivät ohjeet välittömästi käyttöön
How come when I did this snow mixture I made flubber
a few drinky drinks may help with some of these techniques although i don't condone it
The best how to snow bases tutorial ever.
Great video! You inspired me to try my luck with some snowbases myself. Do you have any recommendations on how i could substitute the Citadel snow?
Hopefully you've already found something that works for you, but if not, I'm using the 0.5mm static snow scatter from Peco/WWS. From what I could find, the citadel stuff was essentially white static grass. Couldn't find anything about the length, but I think the 0.5mm is working well from my two initial experiments. I'm also trying the GSW Dipping Inks (pale glacier, azure, and dusty blue), because secret weapon no longer exists and the new Drakenhof Nightshade is apparently less blue than the old version. Will need more experiments to figure out the right amount to thin them by I'm also experimenting with adding some pearlescent pigment into the mix - a little goes a long way. It seems like you'll be able to make the snow look icier by adding more pigment.
Very usefull, clean and clear ! I follow it for my ice Orks and I'm very happy about the result !
Shoulda stuck at this channel dude... :)
Oh man I'd love to see some necromunda tiles ❤
Best grimdark painting tutorial on terrain I have seen yet.
just amazing
Amazing tutorial mate
Can you do a video on the original paint scheme before the Grim dark look?
Man I keep going back to this one, its legendary. I cannot thank you enough for this video! I'd really like to see more like this!
This is amazing dude!
Just perfect ! Was looking since few days for nice snow base, for my undead project army (converted to the Warcraft Lich King Theme) and i've found the best snow base ! Great job !
Was searching through YT for snow base ideas for my Vikings in Blood Rage board game and came up with this video. VERY cool looking base and will def. put this in use. Decided to subscribe also, but noticed only 3 videos and this one done a year ago. Any plans coming back ? :)
Great video! Everything looks amazing
For a video tutorial, it is better not to use an accelerated video, as it seems to me. The footage in real time would be more informative. But everything is cool! The painting is gorgeous!
Of course, I meant close-up footage
Great video of how the techniques interacted onto one terrain piece. I would be interested in videos that focus in on a technique or two.
