Finished my track platform, 5.5ft x 13ft. Have it anchored to the floor joists with pulleys. Crank the winch and up it goes! Also landed on a new layout.

Moar chaos! Homemade intersection for the slot cars. I sacrificed two straight Carrera track pieces in order to hack and hot glue this together. It was a fun project to play around with this week.

Simple mod to a Pro X lane change track with the hope to add a bit of chaos and a dash of unpredictability to the Carrera D132 races. I moved the sensor from the left lane, to the right lane. Super difficult 🙃 The right lane now controls whether the next left lane car is forced into a lane change or not Credit to Johnnie Hobby and DW5555 for doing videos on the Pro X track mods for their pits. ...

Had another race night. Much smoother racing. Extended some of the controllers with cat5, which allowed us to spread out and recover cars as needed. It was needed. 🙃 The track was buzzing with a short at one point . Which turned out to be a car shorting on the exit portion of a lane changer. Very odd.

Taking apart a Carrera digital controller. I ended up soldering at cat5 extension to the board.

Took apart Carrera’s digital control unit with a hope to swap the ports for a standard rj11 port/keystone. The ports are soldered straight to the circuit board and would be a little advanced for my soldering skills. Maybe this’ll be helpful for someone else down the road.

Hosted the first race night in the basement with the Carrera Digital 132 track and cars. Lots of fun but the limited cord length on the controllers became an issue (hard to see the full track with guys shoulder to shoulder).
