Hi. I know this video is over a year old now, but plug-in power on the mic jack is like phantom power on professional recorders, but for consumer recorders instead. Sony's implementation of plug-in power provides 2.5 volts to microphones, whereas Sharp's implementation provides 4.5 volts.

I bought 2 of these when they were £20 a pop, although the user interface is a bit clunky I now have dozens of stations from around the world stored on it. It offers good variety for listening & tbh it's one of the best cheap gadgets I have bought, use it every day. Cheers

So far I haven't been able to get this player to talk to Windows 10 or Linux. It could be the cable I'm using as it's not the original but is the same connector at least - nothing showing up in device manager. I might track down another cable and if that doesn't work I'll have to install Windows XP in a virtual machine :).

tbh the brave 6 plus is superior the the brave 7 le, the 7's eis jumps constantly and image brightness is terrible, colors are off and they removed external mic support.........the only thing the 7 overcomes it with is the internal mic
