This is an update to my last video on the Desert Desert fire extinguisher mount for the 2015 to 2024 Mustang. Don't just get the Molay mount. Make sure you grab the quick release mount as well. I was getting ready to do a copy your install here, but going back through the comments you stated what looks like shortly after doing this mod you moved the 8in to your car and went back to the OEM enclosure with a Kicker 6.75. Why? And did you leave it that way or switch back later? Just wondering of the 8in is worth it for the extra cost/work after you hear the real life comparison of the two?

Do you happen to know the diameter size for your Velgen Wheels center caps. Interseted in purchasing the VF5 for my 2023 5.0. But i would like to reuse or buy mustang logo center caps to retain that OEM look and feel. Thanks in advance.
I don't actually know but I do need to do a detailing on it so when I pull off the wheels I'll try to remember to measure

Hope your Quake Turn signals last longer than 3 months. I’m on my 3rd set of warranties lights. Now out of warranty (1 year).
@@dg98adams yeah I've heard stories of just about every brand. AAL, Quake, Rugged Ridge. None of them seem to last
@@dksgarage6061 this last set I cut a relief in the bracket so the cord is not pushed into a hard 90 degree bend. We offroad so it could also be water intrusion. I have 2 sets to take apart and look into repairing. Good luck.

Out of all the vids on YT I like your setup the best because it gives me a better reference of how it would look since I also have a white GC. I'm still trying to figure out how offset is supposed to work but you said you have +20 offset; isn't it supposed to be negative for it to stick out could you help explain? I want some wheels to stick out too just like yours. It looks brawny 👍🏼
Stock wheels are like +43 or something so the +20 with wider tires does stick out further. The closer you get to 0 the more it will stick out.
@@dksgarage6061thanks for the quick response. Yeah I looked up what my current wheel (I have the OEM 20" wheels) and it says ET55. So its just moving down towards "0" from that number, you don't have to go to a negative number per say? And like you mentioned you had a little rubbing on the inner liner but no issue hitting the suspension component? And last Question, so for sure you need to purchase those new leveling/lifting air links because stock would cause an issue?. I see that you no longer have the vehicle so I thank you again for being able to answer my question(s) still. I Just bought my '15 GC ecodiesel with the quadra-lift a few months ago and am learning this whole new platform/setup
@@saint_keeblerElf yes I think you would need the level links if you were to go larger tire or a different offset wheel.

Does the .5" airlines in the rear allow you to use OR2, and could you use the 1" links on the rear as well and still use OR2?
I know the .5 allows for OR2 but not sure about the 1"?

I just ordered mine. I am chrome dipping it from the hull line up. Also removing the Yamaha Badge from the lower rear to give it a cleaner look. First stop will be the Tint shop to get the Windows done!

Hello my Friend nice car. I have the same car (22 GT/CS) but shadow black. How do those wheels feel as far as performance and ride quality? I used Eibach lowering springs so is there an issue with rubbing on yours? Thanks JC
No issues with rubbing until I was at high speed turns on the Tail of the Dragon in Nc. If you aren't doing any road coarse or autocross racing there isn't an issue. For me, I will be switching to the 275/35-20 when these are worn. As for the wheels: No issue
@@dksgarage6061 Hey Brother thanks for the information. No autocross and if I ever do I probably have a separate set of wheels and tires. I have spoken to Velgen and they do a 19 as well so ?? Decisions, decisions lol. It is fun fixing up my ride. So far tint, lowered, Corsa cold air, wheel spacers, and engine dress up(carbon fiber stuff cal pony cars) with the hood struts. So wheels next then Res delete but I like my active exhaust, and preps for boost. Looking forward to following you and my cars blue cousin lol.

A 800 w kicker amp isn’t even 1 ohm stable so he’s doin the right thing. Shoulda fit two 8’s somehow lol then run em at 1 ohm and hope the amp handles it. They’d suck the power up
It’s wired in series which is raising the impedance from .5 to 2 ohms. It’s a dual one ohm so either parallel it to .5 or series makes it 2 ohms. I like how he said “doubling the power” which is totally the opposite, he’s doubling the impedance which makes the amp/sub use and take less power. Idk if his amp could handle .5 ohms without going into protect. Most amps won’t unless they’re top of the line. 2 ohms on a kicker 8 is fine, hopefully he’ll be getting 200 or so watts to the sub.

It "fits", if you call bolting it to the strut towers with two bolts on each side. Notice that its not bolted to the firewall area, which means its basically done nothing, except save ten pounds for about a grand. The stock set-up was stronger and thus far more functional.
FALSE. It is bolted to the firewall you just can't see it cause it's under the cowl cover. The stock piece was 2 pieces this is one combined design and it bolts in the exact same way.

Apex Forged VS-5RS are 17.4 lbs. with a load rating of 1600 lbs. Rears are 18lbs.

Will it fit under the hood without rubbing on a standard hood. I have a 24 dark horse and am trying to find a brace that will fit with a whipple installed.
It will NOT fit with the stock hood. Too tall.
@@dksgarage6061do you know what the measurement is from top to bottom of the brace? It may fit underneath a 2024 hood but I’m not sure.
Did you do anything to remedy the slight rubbing? Did you stay with the level kit? Or did you get the AirLinks lift?
I did the air links front and rear

What year is your Mustang Gt. I was going to do it Also on my 2015 Roush Mustang Gt premium. But I didn't want to Risk it. Glad I found your video.

Man I've tried the Insurance company after every storm for the last 2yrs. They send out an inspector and say it's structurally sound. They're right, no leaks at all...but it does look rough.
@@dksgarage6061I’m a property adjuster, so I notice those things. As long as there are no leaks, should be okay. Just gotta wait on that next big hail storm unfortunately. Love the new ride BTW
@@dksgarage6061 I was an engineer for the biggest manufacturer in asphalt shingles and I was a quality manager. The black stuff you see on your roof is algae. Even though it’s black, it’s from a form of blue-green algae. You can wash that off your roof but don’t use any chemicals that will impact your asphalt coating on the shingles. Harsh chemicals will cause the granules to wash away and will erode the asphalt layer on your shingles which will lead to leaks. Aesthetically it’s not ideal but it doesn’t cause any harm to your roof.
